How long until we have a picture of all three of them?
“Hast thou not felt in forest gloom, as gloaming falls on dark-some dells, when comes a whisper, hum and hiss; savage growling sounds a-near, dazzling flashes around thee flicker, whirring waxes and fills thine ears: has thou not felt then grisly horrors that grip thee and hold thee?”

Recently went back to #mmxgeneral. Looks like the channel is dead now?

We've all moved to the discord, as Nan said.

To be fair, while others are hopping from one hot new thing to the other, IRC still does the job well, with much less bloat, and less insane ToS for the average server too. You can also just run your own servers with your own rules if need be, rather than be beholden to some weird company who has to control who uses their platform and how.

Honestly I'm not interested in any group chat program that requires me to be logged in to get a history of what was said when I wasn't available.

It's why I barely used the IRC channel.

There are IRC logbots for that sort of thing. Meanwhile, I must admit that what lurks in the depths of Discord's ToS is beyond the pale as far as I'm concerned. I don't consent to it.

That's your choice, just don't expect people to go back to IRC when we've been using Discord for 3 years and the IRC channel was pretty much dead long before that minus a couple of regulars.

I'm not expecting people to go back to IRC. Just noting our disagreement.

sorry for comment, I did not have the intention but... wow I got impressed to see the word IRC again in 2020 :O, that brings me a lot of memories from my ADSL router, and the longs discussions between IRC and Messenger (yes, not the one from FB, but the old one from msn...) I feel a bit old now  :blush

Don't worry, many of us around here have memories like that. ICQ was 22641845, for example  :lol

hehe happy to not feel the only one   :)

By the way,  maybe I am going to do a very stupid question here, but what it means 22641845?!

Back in the day, ICQ numbers were handed out in order. So a low number was a sign you'd gotten an account early on. They were something of a mark of status in the community

These days we use Discord for our day-to-day chatting off the forum, you can find the link under the News in the top left corner.
