Ubar seems to be more and more amused and entertained with every response. "Well then!  If you'll fill out these papers, I'll go and start preparing my menagerie.  El can take you there when you are ready."  With that, he leaves a stack of parchment on his desk and bustles out, humming to himself excitedly.

Squeaky signs the papers without much concern for what they contain. His course is set and he will deal with the consequences as they appear. He then says to the room in general, "So we will be seeing some immediate action against whatever poor creature Ubar decides is our match. We have already begun but it might be wise to continue discussing our abilities. Beyond the darkness I mentioned, I can stop things from happening. Spells mostly, but martial techniques and psychic abilities as well if I can figure out what they are in time. I hit pretty hard for a little guy and I'm good at getting places without being seen though I don't see that coming up right at this moment."

Shuǐguai says "I know much about all that is known, and much also that has been forgotten. I can deceive the senses and call upon the primal power of nature to aid friends, hinder enemies, or even summon creatures from the aether."

"I can kill things, and the radiance of the Dark One shines through me." Vaclav gave a stern look, but just took his papers and started writing the required information in, slowly and perfectly. He didn't understand the purpose behind their poetic descriptions of their abilities. Was he to be impressed by this verbal display? He cared only that they could do the God's will. If they fell in battle, unable to do so, then so be it. He would carry his weight and more through.

El observes the others while they describe their powers.

"Your powers are multiple and strong. I am afraid I only have one power. I can extract the essence from various creatures and use it to summon them or create amalgam creatures that share their traits."

After talking he awaits until everyone signs the documents and leads them to the labs.

"There's no reason to 'dim your light' on my account, sir knight," says Caloia. He signs the documents after a brief skim over their contents, primarily looking for loopholes of continued services beyond the Games. He probably wouldn't care, anyhow, but he looks nonetheless. "I can find other ways to make myself useful, to be certain. I'm sure I'll drum something up during these training exercises the Magus has planned."

El leads you to the outskirts of the city, where a large building sits in a clearing among clapboard houses.  The building does not seem to be in very good repair, with large holes in several of the walls.

Magus Ubar is waiting for all of you in the center of the main courtyard, an expansive smile on his face. "Welcome to my stable! What have you brought me, hm? Are you ready to test your mettle?

Caloia wastes no time in familiarizing himself with what layout of the stables he can see when he arrives. He looks for the obvious exits and any monstrosities that might already be present in the courtyard. "To be certain, we are... but from the sound of our discussion in your office, I must warn you, Magus... I won't go easy on you just because we've only met. I pray your creations are up the artistic standard."

Flexing the muscles of his left arm, he signals to his tentacle whip that it is time to be at the ready. The whip responds, sliding down his arm and wrapping around his wrist and hand as it unfurls its body, revealing itself to be a flexible living weapon, just more than fifteen feet long. Vicious barbs near the symbiont's end secrete a viscous, greenish-black liquid, which drips onto the ground and sizzles quietly, every so often.

Squeaky also scopes out the grounds with his eyes, and focuses his ears on the off chance that the occupants of the stables are present and making noise. Any information on their whereabouts and/or composition would be useful.

Time seems to lurch momentarily and then slow down, as Shuǐguai and his allies feel themselves sped up slightly in the time flow.

The shield was thrown off of his back in the same motion used for Valdis to draw the bright and shining glaive on his back. The shield did not fall, however, but stood y behind, floating, as if it were a page keeping up with it's master. He stood at the front of the group, turned to his side defensively, and held a strong and sure grip on the haft of his weapon. What he did not do was speak, or change his face; he was completely involved in the art of preparing himself. He listened, his eyes scanned with surety, and he held firm to his place and formation. For a moment, his eyes flashed.

Obanthari takes a few steps to the side of the group and does a few quick stretches to loosen his long limbs.  After flexing his hands a few times he stands at the ready, waiting for what comes next, his nimble fingers hovering above his waist - although there's nothing on his belt that anyone would really find threatening.

Everyone hears in their mind: <<I will gladly keep a telepathic link going for the party, within 80' of me.  Anything you wish to share with the group, leave here, Obanthari indicates a specific place in each person's mind, and I will pass it to the others.  I promise that anything I happen to stumble upon elsewhere will not leave my own head.>>
