INT -4 Races? (3.5 and Pathfinder)
« on: August 18, 2014, 10:28:12 PM »
I had thought the Orc had a -4 INT, but it's just got a general -2 to all mental scores.

So, what races do have a -4 INT? Are there any?

Do yo require a penalty to Int only or are other mental stats okay?  Cause if so there's Bullywug

Gully dwarf (Dragonlance Campaign Setting, p16) has -4 int and bakemono (Oriental Adventures, p146 & p203) has a whopping -8 int.  I couldn't tell you about Pathfinder races.

Was looking for at least the -4 INT. Anything's okay, to be honest, as long as it has that -4 INT.

Thank you Maat~

Are LA/RHD acceptable?  Warforged Charger is a -6, Gargoyle, Minotaur, Ogre and Quaraphon are -4

If templates are usable you have these:

-4 Abomination Dragonspawn, Arachnoid Creature, Bodak, Curst, Feral Creature, Hiveblood Creature, Juju Zombie, Madborn, Mummified Creature, Umbral Creature, Wichtlin, Yuan-Ti (Broodguard)
-6 Dread Warrior, Half-Golem, Huecuva, Lost, Savage Creature

Thank you Bhu~ I don't think templates / RHD are allowable for this game, but it's a good thing to keep in mind.

Then that leaves you with Bakemono, Bullywug or Gully Dwarf.  I'm looking for other in books but most Int penalty races have a -2.

Why do you want a race with -4 INT?

One of my friends commented that I always play fighters, but never Big Stupid Fighters... so I figured I would find a way to hit INT 3 from race, take Deformity (Madness) for WIS 3, and then pump Charisma to be useful out of combat.

Smart as a brick! Sees like a brick! But he's the prettiest Orc! (Except Orcs have -2 to all, not -4 INT like I thought)

I hope your DM doesn't load up his NPCs and enemy combatants with Ray of Stupidity.  Just sayin' ...

... Considering that my DM's think that having a high AC is overpowered?

... Nah, they wouldn't even consider it. Hell, I'm only allowed to use Dragonfire Inspiration with d4's, and I'm not even optimizing Inspire Courage.
