It dawns on me that despite my purpose in life being cleansing taint, I do not actually have any means of identifying it unless it is obviously...obvious. Can't even trust an untrainted heal with my negative wisdom :D

Hilariously, it appears that not a single one of those who decided to start out as part of the Magedom's "Taint-cleansing team" has even a single rank in Heal, or other way to detect Taint (unless it is painfully obvious).  :lmao

Well to be fair, we are really, really good at burning the shit out of stuff (and asking questions later). So if that's the typical modus operandi for Desert Ghosts, then maybe we are a great team!  :lmao

I think I'll edit this post to reflect that.  :lol (Just watched Hunger Games 2: Catching Fire... so I have plenty of reference material :P )

Phaedrus, if your personal effects aren't worth anything why would Oslecamo want to see them?   :P
Whoops!  :lmao Fixed!

Grants +8 (My INT) to Attack Rolls + Save DC's against things which fail the Read Thoughts save.
Holy crap! :o

Quote
Aura Debuffs (For DM's convenience)
  • Enemies in 60' take -3 on saves and non-STR based checks and skills.
  • Enemies in 30' take -2 on saves, attacks, and AC; WILL negates, DC 26
  • When I charge/attack, things in 50' must WILL DC 20, or be shaken. Fail by 4+ = frightened. Fail by 8+ = panicked.
Do those save penalties stack? My god... does anyone specialize in Save or Die/Lose in this group? I have a Sleep-based breath weapon from my Brass Dragon ideal which definitely counts (bonus: not Mind-Affecting or a Compulsion), but I hadn't actually planned on focusing on breath weapons/effects. The +8 to DCs coupled with the save penalties is pretty massive, though... Definitely makes that the #1 go-to action when facing off against enemies which might be vulnerable...
xD Yes, they stack. They're from two separate things - one is an aura from plant-based things, the other is the Menacing Aura of an Outsider. I built this guy to just be buff/debuff... I mean, I also give people a spine for each ranged attack I hit them with (four, at the moment, or five with Rapid Shot), which provides a stacking -1 penalty to Attacks, Saves, and Skills... heh... Yeah, built him to hurt saves / attack rolls, figured that'd be the most helpful. I have crap for damage, though.

I have the most random assortment of buffs ever*! :lmao

However, I do have some stuff like a temporary dominate effect, so all the debuffing could be handy.

*I still like the way I can make crit ranges bizarrely large.

... I'm also generally guaranteed to get +5 to attack and damage against everything, courtesy of Knowledge Devotion.

Wait, is that a +8 to everyone's attacks/DCs against whatever fails that? Or just for you?
And do we have to be within your telepathy range for that bonus?
And can constructs even be telepathically communicated to........-_-'

I've got a sleep SLA that can affect more than the standard amount of HD, and can pierce immunity to sleep. I can then do a taunting dance over the enemy and erase their memories. :P

As for buffs, I've got some, though most group buffs aren't long lasting enough to mention. I do get haste several times a day, which should help nicely. :)

Each ally who I am telepathy'ing gets that against each creature that failed their save.

If you have a 3+ int score, yes.

Gazzien: I notice now that you took an Heroes of Horror feat that relates to Taint. In case you missed the clause, the taint rules being used for this game fully overwrite any and all previous taint rules (of which there were at least 3 separate systems). Which was kinda half the idea behind this campaign, old taint rules are bad in the bad sense, let's try something made from scratch. So please replace that with something else.

Hm. I didn't realize it replaced that. Figured it overwrote "taint", but because it just rejected taint, not a specific bit of the system, it's be fine...

Ah, okay. I'll start looking. Seems kinda silly there's no general "resist taint better" feat, in the new system (at least to me)

There is a feat that lets allies reroll saves to resist acquiring taint. There is no blanket immunity. It's supposed to be scary and dangerous.

I'm up for burning two uses of my Alter Reality to cast Unity Wine (player's guide to eberron, side bar on page73, gives +1 moral to skill checks) twice for everyone under the excuse of drunken enlightenment is still enlightenment if Ols is up for it. After looking at everyone's bonuses, Mass Persisted Heroism isn't too far out but it'd take an additional hour to hand out and that'd be it for uses per day, the wine is a little easier and lets me dig around for other stuff.

... I would honestly rather not get a buff from some magical wine spell. XD

Also, I thought morale bonuses didn't stack?

I don't think +1 to skills is worth a use of Alter Reality. I'd rather save it for something more useful.

They don't. Heroism simply gives a +2 Bonus to begin with. (phaedrusxy's skill boost is luck based, and bless doesn't give skill boosts)

I meant the wine thing. But I have no idea how that works. >_>;

Oooh. Unity Wine is one of those buried in a side bar Spells that even D&D Tools lacks. Cleric 1st, CL/Hour, four people gain a +1 Moral Bonus to Skill Checks. It'd have to be cast twice because we're a 6 man party and each Spell can only affect four people. It's a really nice Spell, Player's Guide to Eberron in the Half-Elf section (page 73).
