You may notice things around here look a little more... classical. Yes, we have been able to restore all of the minmaxboards. This is almost entirely due to the efforts of two people: BG Josh was able to overcome the technical difficulties the BGs were having with their host, which gave Prime32 access to the complete dataset of MMX. Prime has spent the last several days restoring, upgrading, and cleaning the data, so that not only will all of the content be available, but also the new features such as sticky posts in threads, functional email notifications, and more.
I would like to extend my thanks (no doubt there will be a touch more of that from the MMX community) to both Josh and Prime for ensuring the continued existence of our history, and all the irreplaceable content created here. Prime, especially, has been working hard to ensure that we can restore the community to its normal status, and will be earning a 100% bonus on top of his salary for his exertions.
Please note that as we wanted to get everything back into the public as soon as possible, our excellent technology admin might have to make a few changes after restoration has been opened to the public. So if you see something that isn't quite right, let myself or Prime know, and we'll get it sorted.
For those members who joined us on the temporary forums but did not have existing MinMaxBoards.com accounts, unfortunately, you will need to re-register. It is an unavoidable side effect of restoring all the existing data. Another side effect is that anything posted on the temporary forums will not transfer to the new boards. Do not worry, we've carefully archived everything from the interregnum here (http://storm-shelter.minmaxforum.com/), so make sure to check it and grab anything desired (not that we'll be turning that off any time soon).
So welcome back everyone! Come, make yourselves at home once more in the cozy confines of the MinMaxBoards.
Edit: Prime has fixed the links. All minmaxboards.com links on the site are now redirected to minmaxforum.com. Any broken links to the 3.x web articles on wizards.com should also be fixed now.

Good job everyone. It is great we got the old content back, but I got to say it was amazing seeing the community come together during the recovery efforts, gives me confidence for the longevity of this community.

OK, so... I liked the way I had stuff organized on the temp board more than I do on this current board. However, the thought of having to re-repost everything is super daunting. Is there any way to migrate stuff from there to here?

Seconded. It's bad enough that I'm going to have to update all of the links I just meticulously updated anyways.
Also, one major feature I'm missing here. We can't just upload avatars directly any more. Noooooooooo!

That fix is now implemented - all minmaxboards links on the site are now redirected to minmaxforum. Via Javascript, so the original posts haven't changed. If we get the old domain back, I can put it in reverse.
Any broken links to the 3.x web articles on wizards.com should also be fixed now.

I tried google search for minmaxboards.
https://minmaxboards.com seems to go to bluehost, unless something has squatted it already.
http no s ://minmaxboards.com returned the bluehost temp down standard flag.
... as does BG, which I suppose that database ought'a be maybe 7th or 8th on "the" list (sooner or later).

I take a two day break to sacrifice orphans (totally unrelated) and MMB's content is restored! Yeaheeeeeee.
Amazingly work on everyone who was involved in case I miss someone, but thanks for hosting Strat, for fixing Prime, and for working on allowing us to continue Josh.

Someone told me that you lost stuff from BG. I have this tendancy to download stuff and forget about it. I think I have a bunch of php files from BG that were the handbooks. I think. My memory is shot to hell. It's like only 84 megs. Dunno if anyone wanted them. Wanted to make them available, if needed.

I was pulling the pic, from a dealer in Denmark ... which became a problem.
I'm using wotc for this one , which seems stable for now ( cough !!! )
learned that lesson twice over, just on my avatar alone.
Hence it's my 3rd pic era sig , which might actually be 3.5 or 3.X at this point , with the whole storm shelter Invisibility / RopeTrick / whatevs / spell.

Any news on grabbing the minmaxboards.com domain or the brilliantgameologists.com? Are there any chance on bringing the bg site as well back to life or is it gone forever?
And is it possible to have https activated e.g. with certicates from https://letsencrypt.org/?

Huh, I noticed the MMB site was down, but didn't think much of it until tonight when I searched for it and found that GitP thread which then brought me here. Good stuff getting it back up!

Google changes their search algorithm every now and then.
The latest change looks quite beneficial.
"minmaxforum" and "minmaxboards" don't bring up "minmax boards is dead" at the top anymore.
