It's listed on the sheet as "2d6 splash / 2d10 immersion". I'm not sure which this would be, so I'll roll both, and you can use which is applicable.

Rolled 2d6 : 5, 4, total 9

Rolled 2d10 : 5, 4, total 9

In 3E, steel has a hardness of 10. I now acid does full damage against objects (as opposed to half for fire and electricity, and a quarter for cold). I'm not sure if hardness applies. There were debates about that, but I lean toward "yes".

I'm not sure. I was trying to find a citation for the damage values I had on my character sheet. I'm not sure where they actually came from. I have more vials, and theoretically, if I poured enough, it might act more like immersion.

The acid doesn't dissolve it, but it miht have weakened enough to break it off more easily.

Elizabeth asks one of the stronger guys to attempt that. Perhaps using two pieces of firewood (holding one against the lock, and striking it with the other).

Okay it takes him a lot more time than you're comfortable with but you get the door open.  You notice it can be barred from the inside as well.  The men ask if they can start a fire to turn away the bitter cold.

"Lets make sure it's clear, first."

She goes with them to check the rooms. Someone should keep an eye on the open door to make sure nothing comes in or goes out.

You hear nothing.  The small house appears to be empty of life (currently).  The furnishings are fairly sparse with only basic furniture plus some very odd things.  For example the kitchen contains not so much food as various chemicals.  The bedroom library has many books, none of them in english, none of them on subjects that would not prov troublesome if you were caught with them.  The floor underneath the bed has a hidden door leading to the cellar.

Are there any signs that something has been here recently? Disturbed dust, or anything similar?

Elizabeth checks the cellar.

No signs of disturbance.   You light a lantern to move into the cellar and immediately realize why it's hidden: this is a practicing scientists room, but the science is not Earthly.  Slates on the wall contain many equations, done in a mathematical system unknown to you.  Sigils of some form are on  the wall and floor, and there are more books in the corner.

You think the books are about the alien science but most aren't in a language you read.  The sigils might be wards of some kind.  The maths on the slate will take time, you've not seen anything like them.

This is certainly worth looking into, later. For now, she looks to see if there is anything on the prisoner.
