As Mao materializes at the
black market area, she sees a scene of destruction, with countless bullet and blast marks in the walls, along some of the ship's passengers heavily wounded, armors cracked and energy fields faltering. Standing tall between them are the invaders that Mao finally manages to see clearly.
The armored troops quickly and silently aknowledge Mao's presence by turning their heads momentarily, but only two point their heavy weapons towards you, while the other four keep spraying hails of purple bullets at the ship's passengers that struggle to hide behind any kind of cover but are clearly being overwhelmed, unable to stand up to run or find an opening to shoot back. At least it looks like they aren't defenseless civilians, and all have some degree of combat instinct and protective gear to hold out for some time, as expected from the mercenaries and criminals who would visit a black market in the deeper areas of the ship. Mao herself swiftly finds herself under heavy fire from the unknown cannons, two purple bullets actually managing to pierce her plating! They release some kind of entropic energy on impact, threatening to compromise Mao's structural integrity.
Through the cacophany of battle in this area, there's also the sounds of more shots and screams further inside the ship, behind curtains of debris and smoke.
Maia then reports:
“Certainly, waste not, want not. We fully support maximum efficiency on the use of resources.

Mao takes 76+77 damage from two shots, also suffers -2 penalty to AC and saves until damage is healed. They tried to trip you but they didn't roll well enough for Mao to need to bother to roll herself.
