Hey guys, remember the jaguar I mentioned a while back? I ran into it again.

Why did you run into a car again:P

I didn't have the context, so I legitimately thought Kuro ran into a large predatory feline and didn't even question it.

I still don't have context, and am still not convinced that there isn't a large predatory feline involved somewhere.

You guys seriously don't remember that there is a large predatory feline on the loose near my folks' country home?

II figured it was a jungle cat, but imaging you getting into an incident with a car twice was too funny to pass up

There have been a lot of stories and we haven't heard one in awhile.  I can't remember all of your shenanigans (although a lot of them do seem to involve cars).   :P

Right. So anyway...

This past friday was my birthday, and last sunday was mother's day, so we decided to celebrate at our country home. And for us in the southern part of Brazil there's hardly better ways to celebrate than a barbecue. (You guys are probably familiar with how we do it.)

At some point, someone figured we had been BBQ'ing way too much meat and there was no way we could eat it all. So I gave them the idea to give our groundskeeper some. Since I gave the idea, I also volunteered to bring the meat.

From our home to the groundskeepers it's a little less than 500 meters, and then there's a slope for some 200 meters more. It's hardly a hike, but we're not exactly neighbors either. I was about halfway past when I saw the jaguar. It immediately growled at me, baring its teeth. And it started circling. Not a good sign.

I was too far from anywhere that would be able to help. The groundskeeper does have a gun, but I couldn't outrun a jaguar, and either way I'd have to go PAST it to get there. Plus it probably would go to where my family was, sensing the smell of meat.

So I figure. Sure, let's do this thing.

I took my shirt off and stared the jaguar down as I stretched a little. The big thing stopped dead in its tracks. I couldn't tell for sure, but it seemed sort of confused. Eventually, it stopped growling. But it did start walking towards me, albeit slowly. It leaned onto its front paws, which I thought meant it was about to pounce...

...and then lay down completely. And whimpered, looking at me.

I tore off a piece of meat and approached the jaguar. No reaction.

"Gimme paw."

To my surprise, the beast played along.

"Good kitty."

I fed it the meat, which it licked off my hand, gave its head a little scratch and went off on my way.

This reminds me of my son last year, he too thought dogs were cats.  :P

Job interview appears to have gone well, I have to wait for results (they're doing a mass expansion so they're hiring a lotta people).  Should know by Friday.
Meanwhile in my other job, raccoons have occupied the quality assurance lab.

Did you train them to do that?

I (possibly, pending red tape) have a job at the local movie theater. I live half a mile from it, so I should have no trouble with commute for once.

Is it shit pay? Yup
Is it menial work? You betcha.
Is it likely to NOT fire me on a whim because I walk with a cane? DAMN RIGHT, SO I'M TAKING IT.

So tonight we had to pitch our proposed business model in class. Teacher instructed us to make it "short and memorable".

I taught him a valuable lesson in being careful what he wished for.

Customized FTTX internet. Basically, you can either hire something predetermined with a fixed cost, or you can get your habits measured, and have an internet plan crafted around your exact, specific needs, which won't cost you a dime more than what you spend internet-wise.
