Hmm... I think Ásdís had tried to scry on [Eyvind] and failed, IIRC.
Nope, she never said anything to that effect, at least so far as I can find.
So likely Bram might fail as well, although I guess we could ask him to try...
That's a possibility, though he only prepared one instance today of the spell you failed to identify
There were some wonky divination results that Skulda got about Nothri's son also, I think. ... The divination said that his seed was choked out by another. Either way, it probably means that he is dead or beyond help. Given that he's far from here, I think our decision on whether to go that way should be at least partially based on where we're planning to go next, and if the area King Nothri's son was at is on our way or not.
Once Bram finishes contacting Trogdor, what is your plan? You only have a small handful of leads at the moment, though the possible avenues of action are pretty wide open.
How many warriors does Nothri command, anyway? And where would we need to go to get the word to the largest group of warriors/witches/etc?
Eyrrinberg is normally home to less than 300 people. Of those normally in town (not counting those that set out with Eyvind), there are eight active or retired adventurer types, ranging from 3rd - 5th level (this includes the regular guards), and eighteen others could be outfitted for a fight in a time of need (3rd level and lower).
With the surrounding farms having retreated to Eyrrinberg, there are probably two to three times those numbers here now. If things get really dire, others could probably be convinced to fight.
As for getting word to the largest group of warriors, etc, you've already started working on that. Contacting the Hathran is a good idea. There is also a larger town (Niðarós) two days (by foot) south of Eyrrinberg, along the shore of the Ashane Sea (ie - the Baltic Sea). It has 800 - 900 people, and is a trading center (if you recall, that's where Ospak's caravan was originally heading, before he decided to cut the return trip a bit short and just head straight for Eyrrinberg [all that happened in the very first post of the prologue]).
