Gindar blocked the attack with the metal haft of his glaive. Ignoring the bleeding wound on her shoulder, Nami drew her slender blade, cautiously stepped forward, and struck at the hobgoblin.

The bugbear blocked Nami's attack, then retaliated with a brutal downward strike.

The bugbear staggered as the blade cut across his chest. He held one hand up and lowered his glaive with the other.

"I have no interest in dying for the humans," Gindar growled. "Allow me to live and the humans are yours."

Alth took a moment to catch his breath as the bugbear surrendered. "That is acceptable, but I do have a few questions for you. What are the humans doing here? Can you give us any information on their organization or what the layout of the caverns are?"

Nalbin nodded his head respectfully to the bugbear, taking a 5 foot step back but still keeping Dolard trained on the bugbear in-case it was needed.

"Yeh are a skilled warrior and yeh fight well. Any information yeh could provide on th' huamns would be greatly appreciated"

Gindar nodded slowly as he listened to the questions. He grumbled incoherently for a brief moment as he formulated answers as best he could.

"The humans are searching for something. I know not what it is, but my chief instructed me to act as their guard until such time as I could kill them myself," the bugbear answered. "Perhaps they have grown suspicious of me, for they bade me to guard the tunnel entrance instead of accompany them. I know nothing of the layout of these caverns or what dwells within them, but the humans numbered a half dozen when they entered. Have you more questions?"

Gindar shook his head. "If there is another way down here, I do not know of it. I have seen little else in this area. I would presume it safe enough to rest until Meera's pet spider returns from hunting. As for your last question, yes, the humans are expecting a visitor in three days time."

Nami sat down on a nearby rock, looking wane from blood loss.
