Joseph cautiously creeps into the mine, pausing to nod to Throreth's hawk.
"Another member of our expedition? Well, greetings." he says quietly, attempting to stay inconspicuous to possible inhabitants of the mine.

Dunewalker paused for a moment pondering whether he should pull out his Hearthfire lantern.  He decided to use his Invisibility ability and then whispered to the others.  "I have another lantern if needed, but holding it myself in this state can cause problems.  If you need to know where I am, I intend to follow ten to fifteen feet behind Graalmas."

In this working section of the mine, you can tell that some of the equipment has been used for non-mining purposes. A large wheelbarrow upside-down and with another full of stone to weigh it down, but with acid damage making a hole in the side. A few picks that have stains on them from being used in a fight. Portions of cloth from clothing, or bits of cracked carapace. There wasn't much of a battle here, but there was a fight.

From here, there are three tunnels. All three are fully braced for as far as you can see down the tunnels. Each are 15 foot wide and 15 foot tall. The one on the left (NNE), the one in the middle (NE), and the one on the right (E) all look alike, with no discernible debris still in any of them. As you walk about the area, though, Graalmas catches the faintest flicker of something slightly reflective down the right tunnel, but it is quickly gone, as if all he had seen was a bit of glare of a lamp flicker of his flames in his own eye. Joseph, however, noticed it a bit more clearly, just at the edge of his sight into the tunnel, the group was being watched by one of the big ants, but it has started to move away, as soon as the light got too near, barely letting the light hit its exoskeleton even by the standards of those who need less light.

Before taking his place in the party "Ah yes, this is my avian companion. Her name is Amadrimme"
I hear it's amazing when the famous purple stuffed worm in flap-jaw space with the tuning fork does a raw blink on Hara-Kiri rock! I need scissors! 61!

Joseph points to the right tunnel."Ant there," he whispers. "Hiding from our light."

Graalmas grunts. "Perhaps I should bring the light to the ant."

((How far away is the ant that Joseph is pointing to? Or can G not tell?))

He gives Graalmas a surprised glance. "Good; they can't grab you when you're on fire. But remind me not to shake your hand."

((I imagine he'd know it's out of the light, which puts it by the tunnel, about 80 ft away.))

It was barely noticeable to Graal, at the edge of his low-light vision from the hooded lantern of Thror's. So it is as Quill said, but @120ft when seen by Spades, but then it got further away.

Dunewalker once again used his Detect Magic ability and looked around the room to see if anything lit up for him.

No magic auras within 60ft. There would be an aura from the ant, but it's out of range.

"I see no magic auras within range.  The ant must be beyond range at the moment.  Shall we follow it?"

"Yes, cautiously" Was all he said as he kept his lantern trained on the passage-way the ant went down.

"I haven't,"says Joseph, "but I am stealthy," and walks after Thoreth, Dunewalker and the ant.

Fire... the primordial nightmare, and I am its scion. Let us see if these insects dream...

Graalmas slowly smiles. "Let us begin." He prowls down the tunnel, enormous sword at the ready.
