ooh, protagonist. Must keep alive; she's probably important.

I'd take a stand-still AOO against her if she tried to move, but I don't really want to *kill* people. And ... is it possibly going to be worth it to save it?

(Also, "Barely miss", Hah. I mean, given my heavy armor+NA+Shield, it's probably more like "Hits, goes through a joint,  but still bounces off harmlessly)

Zadiel steps forward in light and glory. She takes her longsword and goes to attack the nun. Nonlethally. Hopefully if she's defeated, the others will cower. Or just, the nun won't keep getting stabbed. Or, at worst, people will attack Zadkiel over squishier opponents.

"May the heavens forgive me for this violence I am about to inflict" she mutters under her breath as she swings the pommel of her longsword into the nun.

Rolled 1d20+11 : 10 + 11, total 21
(including -4 for nonlethal damage)

Damage:
Rolled 1d8+5 : 5 + 5, total 10
(I'm currently medium-sized)

Sure. Then I guess Zadkiel is going to be taken by surprise by the violence as much as your targets, since escalating to direct combat in the middle of the street, vs. a bunch of nuns is not in her MO.

Expect a lecture at the end, I suppose.

... I assumed we were having some kind of dialogue and IDK if you get a surprise round if the other people know you are there at all - I thought you didn't

... if I break cover, like, now, and go into full "WTF is the mortal church saying *now*" mode, will people be annoyed?

Okay, when you put it that way.

I think bulky is, by definition, not easily carryable. Any working of "bulky" that goes, "and, well, I can carry it trivially" is probably wrong

... angel is non-trivially interested in just giving them the 120gp, but is willing to let someone else negotiate down to 10-25gp.

Yeah, we do seem to be overthinking this.

"... Of course it bloody is. I am so wholly unsurprised that this storm makes getting off this island suicidal that I guess I'll just have to deal with some vast horde of ghouls and geists. Well, it's a good story to go down with."

"Do you know how much those things cost. *Mutters under breath* Pricey enough they keep them in locked cabinets. Ahem. *Continues*. Okay, so there actually is a ghost ship? Fuck. Can we take it? Not if we're badly outnumbered. Can we run? Well, we have a sailor and there has to be *some* boat around this place we can nick. So is the storm or the dead more likely to kill us all. Decisions, decisions."

Aval will most likely complain but not actually object. Goat-barn it is. (Or newly/long ago abandoned hut?)
