DnD Next board
« on: July 14, 2014, 05:16:26 AM »
It may be time to start a DnD Next board. Some of the core rules are out and are being discussed in the general DnD section. I think this discussion will get to complicated to hold in one thread. So starting a new board and dumping all DnD next treads in there should done.

Might be a good idea when or IF , it gets rolling.

I'd hedge on calling it "next" anymore.
It's actually happening now.
5E would do, though.

edit --- WotC is calling it: "Dungeons & Dragons - Fifth Edition" ... on their forums.

Yeah, +1 for a new board.

Ive been looking for it as well, and are about to test it with a few friends. Would be good for it to have its own place.

The 4E subforum has a grand total of 18 topics with a total of 150 posts. I think the 5E discussion topics total more than 150 posts atm, so ...

We'll run it by the Gameologists, but I don't see any reason not to add a board.
Please send private messages regarding board matters to Forum Staff instead.

Might be the board will generate some traffic. We could use some traffic.

Thanx Agita.

Given there's now a PBP of the thing, it couldn't hurt. :lmao

You might but I think it may be essential for this board. People with access to the statistics may correct me but I think traffic, or at least, posts and topics, are declining. And most new topics discuss some obscure rule of exotic combo.

GitP has a dnd 5/next board and it is very active. We could use that kind of traffic. If we are indeed the optimizes community we should at least explore the potential of 5e. And we need a subforum for that.

Looks fine so far.

You could collapse the 4e Regular + 4e MinMax boards together into 1 ... not much traffic for either anymore.

And perhaps retitle for consistency:  3.0e , 3.5e and Pathfinder

3.0 and 3.5 material are used interchangeably enough that I think the title is fine as is.  Very few folks play 3.0 only games anymore.

You'll notice that's a +1, not a -1. I want the board to exist, for different reasons.

Just noticed that the "respect" feature seems to be disabled in the 5e subforum (and only in 5e).
Not sure what's up there; just thought I'd make folks aware.
