Destroy the World with a Single Spell
« on: March 03, 2013, 05:05:27 PM »
Step One: Get a character that can cast Ice Assassin, preferably early

Step Two: Create an Ice Assassin of Pun-Pun.

Step Three: Tell the Ice Assassin to destroy the original.

Step Four: ????

Step Five: Unfortunately, probably not profit.

What's the point of this thread?

Anyway Pun Pun ascends first, and will prevent others from ascending (or doing something else that could possibly harm him) as well.

The Ice Assassin of Pun-Pun could not kill Pun-Pun. She has multiple ways to ignore any form of attack or anything else that might hinder her, and won't stay dead even if killed. Also, due to the nigh infinite divine ranks, she also knows that you want to cast ice assassin, and can thus prevent you from ever doing so. On top of that, you do not even know that she exists (unless you're Vecna)

Plus in Dragonlance's Tower of High Sorcery, there's a time travel spell that Pun Pun could use to prevent anything too

Also, the Ice Assassin would, by being created as a duplicate of Pun Pun, would theoretically just become one with Pun-Pun.

Really want to destroy the world with a single spell?

Quote
Minor Creation
Conjuration (Creation)
Level:    Sor/Wiz 4
Components:    V, S, M
Casting Time:    1 minute
Range:    0 ft.
Effect:    Unattended, nonmagical object of nonliving plant matter, up to 1 cu. ft./level
Duration:    1 hour/level (D)
Saving Throw:    None
Spell Resistance:    No

You create a nonmagical, unattended object of nonliving, vegetable matter. The volume of the item created cannot exceed 1 cubic foot per caster level. You must succeed on an appropriate skill check to make a complex item.

Attempting to use any created object as a material component causes the spell to fail.

Notice that there's nothing about mass?

Cast Minor Creation.

Create an infinitely dense singularity of soybeans or something.

Or change it's name to Pyin-Pyang, and hope for the best.

haha, nice!!

do seeds count as unliving? If so, make 1cu ft/CL worth of dandelion seeds. They seeds grow (removing the duration, since they aren't seeds anymore)

then cast plant growth on the patch

yeah, we were pulling dandelions tonight.... GRRRR

Nah, just craft a self replicating dirt golum that feeds off dirt and rock. If it doubles in population in a given amount of time, then eventually, sooner then you imagine, the world will be nothing but Air, fire, and water.

Depending on your campaign setting, either the golums all tumble into the planet's firey core and melt thus forming a sea of magma with a few missed chunks of inhabitable rock and a few eternally flying things surviving (which would be one cool campaign world, now that I think about it.), or if it's FR, you go down deep enough, everything falls into the plane of shadow. So on FR, the world would fall, chunk at a time, into the shadow realm. until only an inky blot remains orbiting the sun.

Hey... I think I have my next world spanning threat for the players to face.

Trivial fun, playing around with Nukemap and using the 20psi airblast to stimulate Explosive Spell's massive concussion wave. The Locate City bomb (@cl20) is around 1,880,000,000kt which is large enough that if you dropped such a nuke on Guatemala half of Canada would be on fire.

You can deal moderate amounts of elemental damage to an arbitrarily defined area that repeats for an arbitrarily long length of time with metabreath feats and a dragon breath with a cooldown measured in rounds. Metabreath feats have no effective cap because they increase the cooldown of your dragon's breath rather than dealing with some finite 'cap' like metamagic does with spells.

So you could, for instance, choose to exhale a blast of electricity that encompasses the entire plane and lasts for a thousand years of iterating damage, in exchange for not being able to use your dragon's breath for several thousand years.

Fivefold Breath is a good way to increase your breath weapon damage by 5

See, that's where you're underthinking things. Imagine if, say, you could use untyped damage like a Half-Sand Dragon.

Say, Human Half-Sand Dragon LA 3/DFA 7. Take Clinging Breath and Enlarge Breath at first level. Third, Lingering Breath. Sixth, I don't know.

Congratulations! Everything in the path of your breath must now make two reflex saves a round for an arbitrarily long period of time. Alternatively, Half Shadow Dragon for continuous level drain for anything ever.
