The Small Rants Thread VII: Infinite Rage
« on: December 22, 2013, 03:05:46 PM »
As the previous thread hit the cap, here's the next incarnation.

To start us off, I have this really weird pain in my right foot, right behind the "ring" toe. Google didn't help, and it only hurts if I step on it with a little more pressure than normal. Doesn't hurt to touch it, or even when something hits it. Just when I step down on that side of my foot too hard.

I just did some isotonic exercises (basically just tensing everything up and then pulling in, then pushing out) and now there's a burning sensation in my abdomen that is nothing like the burn caused by actually working out, plus I feel more nauseous now.  As wonderful as my doc's advice to lose weight might be, I don't see myself being able to exercise much to get there.

I just hope the insurance and such will work to cover my problems come January, once they actually figure out what's wrong.

So...

My brother is deeply depressed and one of my Mom's friends has a death in the family.

Merry Christmas indeed...

My flu is gone but I have a horrible cough.  Hopefully an unrelated doctor's appointment tomorrow will provide a solution.

No there aren't any reports, she's just being a venomous bitch.

He had his plea entering today, and I think he'll be fine, despite the fact that this is the same city that had a guy put on the sex offender's list for having hentai. Nothing else, no abuse, no actual porn, just animated series in erotic situations on his hard drive.

MUST PROTECT THE POOR ANIMATED CHARACTERS!!!!  :shakefist

Retardedness.

Regardless, the guy's got a lawyer he likes, and I hope he can get the kids, because she's a broken little bitch princess drama queen and her daddy's an addict with anger problems who's getting divorced. Possibly also the one who gave her the complex.

ARGH!

Stupid. Just stupid.

Edit: Oh and I forgot-my husband has to go into work despite ice covered roads, and rain coming down that freezes in sheets of ice on you windshield *as you're driving*.

The city police, the provincial gov't and the RCMP are all telling people to stay off the damned roads unless you have to go to the hospital (which is out of power, like so many others) but *he still has to go in to work*.

Fuckers.

At least I got him to promise to pull over and clean off the windshield regularly. I can't refuse to let him go to work because well.. in this economy, you do whatever you damned well have to to keep a job.

I'd still rather have him than a paycheck. :(

Are you in Toronto? 'cause I am, and that's what we got here. Golly, what a day! All the trees look like they're make of crystal; beautiful, especially the ones that came down and shattered, taking the power lines with them. I'd complain, but having the power go out was actually kind of fun! We put on our warm knittens, lit candles, and were generally thankful for our blessings. Its sure great to be unemployed. Well, not really, but at least this weather lets me pretend it is.

For a little while, at least. Then I run out of books to read and become VERY BORED. AAAARFG:flame

No I'm in the maritimes. We're getting hit with your storm remnants now. And tomorrow. Or we're still in the last one... and it's still coming in....hard to tell since any break between may have been a factor of hours, maybe one or two. While I was sleeping.

>.<

Thankfully, still have power here.

Probably because this spring we lost power twice and three times in the fall-they probably finally replaced the transformer for our area-especially since several parts of the area are without.

I work the graveyard shift for a telecom company as a supervisor with one other guy.  Over the holidays I have gotten jack for sleep, so I do what I can to keep awake and alert.  The other guy has Narcolepsy(sp) and makes no such attempts...  and he snores so loud I can hear him over my music.   :shakefist

You know you're having a good time when you go home for the holidays, spend time with friends, watch fun movies, and sleep all you want, and all you can do is try to measure the degree to which you are warped by how much the lovey-dovey fairy tale crap from Frozen bothers you.

My dad played 3 different version of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and
watched about 5 full length christmas-y specials; all on full going deaf blast.

Dear Dad,
cheesy Christmas music will either kill you, or kill me, but I don't care who goes first.

See I'm kind of happy-I never had the childhood where you sat and watched christmas specials, so now, when I go up to spend time with my Mother in law, that's what we do. The hubby and I drink some cheer and watch christmas specials with her all day. I love it, because it almost feels like I'm rewriting all those shitty christmasses that involved my mother screaming at me to do umpteen different things while cursing that I was a-doing them wrong or b-why was I doing x when obviously I should be doing y (despite the fact that x being done was why she was shrieking at me), while my father hides, my relatives snark, and I dread the gift opening because no matter what I got, it's forgotten as soon as it's opened.

This year I spent 80$ on a pair of two tone gold hoops for her. She, as to be expected went "oh that's nice". AT least my Dad's gotten better, he was genuinely pleased with the TB portable drive I gave him.

And... my brother who told me to line up and "die with all my fag friends"and "you're what's wrong with this fucking world" who has "earned [his] right to hate black people"
(yes, all direct quotes) is supposed to be coming into the area on saturday.

Here's hoping he doesn't know where I live anymore. I don't usually hope for drug induced brain damage, but if this pulls through, I'll have at least one good thing to say about meth -.-

 :banghead

But I had a lovely couple of days with my mother in law.

My iPod is driving me insane! Never mind the 20 minute battery life (which is due to the age), the fact that I have to sync it 4 times just to actually put more songs on it is absurd. If I don't do the multiple syncs, it somehow stops syncing mid-way through and only gets about 25% of the songs I want on it.

Fucking iPod Shuffle.

I wouldn't say the Mormon Tabernacle Choir is "cheesy" Xmas music. I have the MTC featuring The King's Singers on DVD, and it is absolutely gorgeous. It's mostly the contemporary pop xmas versions that I really dislike.

My anxiety and bipolar is coming out again.  I wish the highs had been as good as the lows were bad, but we'll see if some socializing with friends gets the highs up there and doesn't leave me crashing and huddled up on the floor rocking back and forth under a blanket.
