THE WARBLASTER

Eat fire! And acid! ... And more fire!
-Elika, a Warblaster

Magic can alter the very nature of the universe. It has depth and complexity. Still, some people have no inclination to do anything with it other than smite their enemies with blasts of ice and lightning. Warblasters are the ultimate sources of magical firepower, able to use magic in its most primal form to tear apart any who stand in their path.

BECOMING A WARBLASTER
Producing small amounts of fire and electricity is the first trick that most remnant casters learn. Some of those who feel the rush of power from that experience become Warblasters, and devote themselves to focusing and strengthening the devastating power of pure magic.

Weapon and Armor Proficiencies: The Warblaster gains no new proficiency with any weapons or armor.

Casting: At each level the Warblaster gains more RP per round, more known remnants or remnant slots, and an increase in caster level (and RP per day, if applicable) as if she had also gained a level in a remnant casting class to which she belonged before adding the prestige class level. She does not, however, gain any other beneļ¬t a character taking that class would have gained by taking a level of that remnant casting class. If she had more than one remnant casting class before becoming a Warblaster, she must decide to which class to add each level for the purpose of determining remnants known, remnant slots, RP/turn and/or RP/day.

Warblaster Remnants: Acid, Cold, Flare, Sonic, and Spark are known as Warblaster Remnants. When the Warblaster takes her first level of this class, she gains the ability to cast these remnants from any of her classes that have them on their remnant lists. She need not learn these remnants or prepare slots for them.

Versatility: Whenever the Warblaster casts a group of Warblaster Remnants, she may choose whether the type of save required is Fortitude or Reflex.

Mobile Caster: By level 2, the Warblaster is adept at moving around in combat, firing off blasts of energy as she goes. When she uses a Move action to move, she may move some distance, cast her remnants for that round, and then move the rest of the distance, up to  a total amount of distance covered not to exceed her normal movement speed.

Ignore Resistance: At level 2, the Warblaster's blasts of energy become especially powerful. She ignores the first 2 points of energy resistance whenever she casts a group of Warblaster remnants. This increases to 4 points of energy resistance at level 4, 6 points at level 6, 8 points at level 8, and finally to 10 points at level 10.

Blend Energy: The 3rd level Warblaster learns to cast multiple different types of Warblaster remnants as part of the same group, as long as she assigns the same type of save to all of them (see Versatility above). When she does this, she adds up the total number of  these remnants cast and treats the total as the number of remnants in the group. After she finds out how many remnants take effect (after the combined saving throw and factors such as spell resistance), she decides which of the cast remnants take effect.

Bonus Feat: At level 4, the Warblaster gains Empower Remnant as a bonus feat. At level 8, she gets Maximize Remnant as a bonus feat.

Warblast: At 5th level, the Warblaster reaches a new level of control over magical energy. Whenever she inflicts damage with a group of remnants that contains at least one of each of the 5 Warblaster remnants (see Blend Energy above), the DC increases by 1 for that group only.

Seize Opportunity: The 6th level Warblaster's magic allows her to threaten any space that she can target with a touch attack. As an attack of opportunity, she may cast a group of identical Warblaster remnants worth the amount of RP she gains per turn at a creature she threatens. These remnants are modified to require a touch attack roll before the save, in accordance with the rules about resolving remnant touch attack rolls.

Quick Reaction: By level 7, the Warblaster has learned that the surest way to victory in battle is to strike first. She gains +1 to initiative and +5 RP/turn for the first round following each initiative roll.

Longshot: The 9th level Warblaster has attained such a mastery over her signature remnants that she can extend their range to hit farther targets. The range of any Warblaster remnants she casts improves to Medium.

Ultrablast: At level 10, the Warblaster learns to unleash the combined fury of the elements in a single instant. Once per day, she may apply the Empower Remnant and Maximize Remnant feats to a group of Warblaster remnants without increasing the RP cost.

WARBLASTERS IN THE WORLD
I should work on lightning today. My lightning isn't as good as my other ones.
-Elika, to a fellow Warblaster
Daily Life: Warblasters live for war. They constantly train to build their potential for magical destruction.
Notables: Bao the Powerful was the strongest Warblaster in known history. He singlehandedly obliterated kingdoms in blazes of fire, ice, and lightning. Unfortunately for him, one of his enemies used a spell to control his mind, and he spent the remainder of his life literrally burning to the ground everything for which he had first fought.
Organizations: Warblasters are vocal members of the League of Alborard, advocating for remnant magic and the power it can bring. There are also squadrons of Warblasters in the few militaries that recognize the potential of remnant magic.
