This thread, which SirP mentioned earlier, has some ideas you could use to fill dead levels.
Indeed. I'll look into that before moving it.
That looks great!  I suggest you post it in a separate thread on the homebrew board for more exposure and feedback.  It's a really flavorful class... I agree that some more synergistic CFs in the dead levels might not go amiss.

Any ideas for a new name? Spellfire Speaker sounds too much like a PrC.

SOLD. Porting it over to Homebrew for more critique

Can I take some Zhentarim fighter substitution levels?

Obviously, I'm not expecting to get the free abilities considering the existing fighter buff, but since I'm planning on taking some of the abilities anyways.

Frankly I just wanna pick up diplomacy and bluff as class skills.
Insert witty joke here.

You can just have those class skills without messing around with sub levels.

Once we all have completed character sheets we pester SirP until he makes us an IC thread.

It helps if we have an idea of how our characters met and why we are forming a team to compete in the games.

So far the IC threads have all begun in the office of the Magus who is sponsoring the team. So we need a reason to compete in the games (we each seem to have one of those), a Magus willing to sponsor us (my character is an apprentice to the magi so he can help us out there) and reason that our 5 particular characters would end up on this particular team (this is the one we need to figure out I think.)

Well, we have a Delver, 2 members of the Chorrun Char, an apprentice Magi, and a Tibbit who hasn't stated his affiliation. Let's start a web.

DracoLuchador<-The Char->My Truenamer<-Linguistics->Your Magi<-Ancient Secrets->Dwarf Delver

So, give the Tibbit a reason to know the Delver or the Luchador, and we have a 1 point chain. We can cross these as many times as we want to get a web, although the "everyone has a reason to side with one other person" route is pretty easy to work with, so a web probably isn't necessary.

How about this?

After coming to Gratis, my delver dwarf began researching the history of the dungeon and Dwarrowdeep, where he met your magi. The magi learned the dwarf wanted to fight in the arena, and the dwarf learned that the magi could get him a sponsor.

Being two fairly intelligent individuals, the most logical thing to do was put a team together. The dwarf delver needed money for spelunking, and the magi was hoping to achieve his goal of rising through the ranks.

Sound good?

El Drago Sonriente might also have been interested in acquiring a magic licenses for the games. So he could potentially meet the mage that way. (And coincidentally with Lightning's Dwarf)

You don't have any actual casting, though do you? I don't think licensing or the arcane magic house rules apply to spell like abilities (it has been ruled that they don't apply to spellshaping, which is what my character does).

Yeah, that sounds about right. My character has been effectively insane for many years and has only recently regained his faculties. He's actively looking to enter the games in order to put himself back on the map among the Magi. So it makes sense that he'd be interested in a Delver who was looking for fighting challenges. The games tend to involve the Dungeon and my character is fairly squishy, so a nice solid dwarf to hide behind would appeal to him.

Brass Dragon's blood ability is Magic Blood; I basically cast like a Sorcerer 2/3 my HD.
So, yeah, I think I might need a license for that.

Looks like you do, yeah. I'd never read the Half Dragon class all that closely and didn't realize it granted the blood ability, much less at level = HD. That class is considerably better than I thought it was.

It's been a long time. Do you wanna start without him?

Sorry about the delay - midterms smacked me in the face.
I'll be posting my character sheet - in this very post! - after I am done with it in a few hours.
Edit: God this build is annoying.

What's up with the build? I know Swordsages can be irritating (Martial Adepts are supposed to be simple to build and they... aren't) but is it that or something else? Anything other people could help with?

For one, turns out only the function of the build is remaining. It's going to be sneaky, and it's going to hit stuff.
On the other hand, it is now a tibbit soul seater with a dip in morphling for the slam, who will be using Ring of Natural Attacks +1 with aptitude weapon on it for Shadowblade, along with a level of Hit and Run Fighter, and I am currently finagling how to get the feats for both Shadowblade (Since I have to enter it through feats because swordsage doesn't have full BAB, which I need for Soul Stealer) and Soul Eater itself.
