So ... what are you gonna or wanna do instead, Land Druid or Barbarian or what ?

So sorry I didn't reply until friggin' almost 3 months later. I ended up running swahsbuckler rogue. But the DM mothballed the campaign for now and wanted us to make new characters. So we're back on the moon druid train... Starting at lvl 5. It's between that and sorlock right now!

Thanks for all the replies. I appreciate it. Unfortunately the moond druid thing ended up being a no-go for this campaign. But it's still on the table for later, I do like the concept of moon druids!

Actually, what about 1 level monk? Would martial arts (specifically the bonus attack) stack? So I mean if I'm a bear would another claw attack fall under the martial arts bonus attack?

Thanks a lot for that reply. Those are some great ideas. Magical Initiate is a great feat, I hadn't even thought of that! The other option is to run 2 levels as warlock for the invocations, 3 spells from the list and 2 extra lvl 1 spell slots. I don't think my DM would like the goodberry combo, but it's a good one to know about.

Right now I'm jumping between:

Moon druid w Magic Initiate
Moon druid/2 lvl warlock
Swashbuckler/fighter

A few great options. So hard to pick!

Hey. We're starting a new campaign from lvl 1, supposed to go long term. I can't imagine we'll go beyond lvl 12 or so. Anyways, I was pondering going moon druid. While they have a high HP pool for much of the game their offensive capabilities while shapechanged appear to very quickly trail off, not to mention the generally awful AC of beasts. So my question is: How can I get the most out of a moon druid? Are there any easy ways/feats/abilities/tactics/multiclass dips that can be taken to make beasts not suck so hard in a pure combat situation beyond like lvl 6-7? I realize versatility is a big thing with druids, and that's fine. But are there any good ways to try and min/max the offensive output a bit more while shapechanged?
