I know there's been some class tweaking,  so is have to read over some of the Arhosa material again... still might have some interest,  but will have to see what I can muster.

I'm surprised that sdk and Venn haven't popped up, the three of us were in pretty much all of your Arhosa games before...

It was you, SDK, Venn, Gazz, and Phae who were each in 2 or 3 games of mine. I think three for all of you at one point.

It's tempting, but I am rather concerned at the possibility of sudden and unannounced GM hiatuses. Feeling a bit of the "fool me once, fool me twice" on this one.

A reasonable concern, given it happened to Arhosa before. Totally my fault, and something I'm sorry about. It's one of the reasons I only want 3 players for the campaign, so it's easier to move along quickly, and why I already have a defined end point in mind. If it was a tabletop instead of a PbP game, it would probably only count as a oneshot. And as I mentioned elsewhere, I'm perfectly happy to restart the other Arhosa campaigns if the players want to. Arhosa Ascending especially, since it paused right at a critical point.

I know there's been some class tweaking,  so is have to read over some of the Arhosa material again... still might have some interest,  but will have to see what I can muster.

It depends what you would want to play - Ritual Magic and the Gallant class are the ones who have undergone major level tweaking (The Gallant is a brand new class). The other base classes are effectively the same as when you last used them, except that there are now more feats kicking about. In terms of this particular campaign, if you pick one of the Arhosa classes, you'd be able to hop into a racial PrC about halfway through. For the magic system classes with more normal (5th+) PrC starts, it would just be base class access for the campaign.

I'd be very happy to restart Arhosa Ascending. For some reason, it was harder for me to get into the solo game... I just didn't feel it as much...

Not having other players to bounce your character off of, most likely. They can bring a lot to a world that a DM can't without hopping in as a DMPC right alongside the player in a solo campaign. Which then defeats the point of it being a solo campaign.

Yeah, I think I just like games with multiple PCs better. I had only played in I think 1 other solo game before that one, and looking back I think I found it a bit uninspiring, also.

Of course Arhosa Ascending is continuing. It can't end before Loire gets paid. :P
Hmm.

Don't worry, in the last scene of the campaign, I shall summon a horde of rustmonsters into Loire's "special storage".

So, as the [Adventure] post spam over in the Arhosa subforum probably indicated, both Whispers of War and Arhosa Ascending are ready to (re)start when desired, with the note that players using Gallants (base class) or Hanians (race) will need to rebuild their PCs. On the other hand, if the affected players would like to keep using their characters as currently statted for the adventure, that's even easier. So it's up to them.

For Whispers of War, I've worked with Gazz (Spellsinger 3, looking at crafting) and SDK (Champ 2/Savage 1, melee beatstick) a fair bit with setting up PCs, but with all the various people posting, I wasn't sure who wanted the 3rd slot in the campaign.

I'd definitely rather not have to rebuild my PC... If the changes aren't too substantial, I guess I'd consider it.

It's a brand new class now. Mechanically, it's probably stronger and more interesting, but it's also aimed slightly differently (Skirmish instead of Sneak Attack, among other changes). The class post has both the new and old versions in it, if you want to compare.

I... think I was a Hanian, in AA? I'm not entirely sure, I think I vanished before the game dropped.

Nope, asshole insect people (the race, not your character) named Heginyn. They did get slightly nerfed though (see the linked thread).

Uh. Shieldbreaking Strike is a fusillade, not a feat. ??

Edit: No, wait, it's both. That's confusing.

I reused the same name? Whoops. But yes, the Ancient Martial Feat.

Must say, it's weird going from a variable feat you have to qualify for, to a +3 BAB prerequisite one. I'll check what needs changing after my lab.

With the variable feat, the Heginyn were a perfect warrior race. The best one in all Arhosa. As to the feat requirements, remember that ignoring Ancient Martial Feat BAB prereqs is actually a class feature for the Champion class to allow him to take feats for his Forte.

Now, since it looks like the others who are affected by the various changes aren't going to adjust their PC, there's no reason you need to either.

Edit: Given there appear to have been changes to every character in the campaign aside from Loire, it's probably best if we just continue on as currently designed.

For those who are playing Whispers of War as well, we have the IC thread and all the others up and running.

Arhosa Ascending is also back and good to go in its old home.

So, due to the loss of a player, Whispers of War needs one more. We're still fairly early on, so an incoming player will have missed very little gameplay.

Hmm... maybe I should bring my Pybyr from the solo game into this? The solo game could be his backstory (and why he's left his home to go "adventuring" :D).
