Jack knelt next to the downed perp, taking a whiff of his cigar. "Wolf. Come." The wolf obeyed, darting to his side, looking hungrily at the corpse before him.
He took another whiff, slowly inhaling the smog of the cheap cigar as he tapped the corpse with his hand, twice. The wolf put its nose to the man's chest, sniffing in the odor with its animal senses, catching his scent.

As the wolf raised its snout to the air, beginning to follow the track upon the air, Jack exhaled, butting his cigar on the corpse as he stood up. "We could do that. On the other hand, we could follow his track right back to his hangout while it's still hot. That's just, you know, my humble suggestion. I'm sure y'all, being professional crimfighters and all, are way better at this than me"

If I'm reading your explanation correctly, no, that's not a higher-order infinity.
What you're doing would be infinity2
The smallest higher-order infinity would be 2infinity

Jack calmly reaches into his bag, retrieving a case of cigars. He removes one, stuffs the case back in his bag, retrieving a lighter, with which he lights the cigar. "So, you police guys need me to do anything else, or can I leave?"

Jack, knocked momentarily off balance by the lucky blow, quickly regained his composure, sticking his horribly disfigured face towards the dodger. "Don't make me force the police guys to use their dead people speaky magic when we're interrogating you. Drop the peashooter"

Jack lept over the edge of the building, grey cloak billowing behind him as he fell onto the man below. "You're going down, punk," he said is his raspy voice.
As he landed on him, he grabbed for him.

Can we get another map? Horizontally, how far is the perp from Jack?

How tall is this building.

Reacting quickly, Jack drove his sword swiftly at the man's throat.

So, at this point, should we drop back in the main WtL thread? Since combat seems to be over.

I'm leaving this one to you; is there a fire-escape or obvious door or something Roy could go through? I mean, we're pretty close to the police station, so I guess I might have seen this place before and been at least familiar with it at a glance.

There's the fire escape Jack and the Wolf went up...

How does a wolf climb a fire escape anyway?

Very carefully.

"Get him" Jack calmly said as he ran across the roof, sending his wolf bounding towards the perp, where its jaws attempted to close around his legs, tripping him over.

"Fucking Dodgers," Jack muttered under his breath, running at full speed to the nearest fire exit and up it, drawing his sword as he did. His wolf followed close behind him.

Would it be reasonable to assume these buildings have roof access inside them? Alternatively, are there fire escapes that go to the roof on the outside?

The reason we haven't mentioned it is because you haven't mentioned it.  It's up to the player to keep up with their class features after all.  ;)
I realize that.

Still, it's not like we need my wolf to take down some punk with a gun.

Jack's head snapped to the side, looking at the assailant, his hand already moving towards his sword.

Hey Aye, where's your companion?  Kind of important, I think...
Probably next to me.
Although that does raise the question of why nobody's mentioned or acknowledged it.
Still, why on earth would it not be with me?

I'm sorry everybody, but with everything that's going on for me right now, I don't think I have the time I'll need to manage this. So it's on hold(if you can call it that considering it never began) until I can get my schedule cleared up a bit.

As Jack speaks those words, the changeling (having resumed his normal appearance) hurries out after him.  "H-hey, wait?  Where are you going?"  He sounds a little panicky.  "Don't leave me alone in there..."

"Talk to this police guy," Jack said as he continued to walk along. "All I wanted to do was stab something really big in the face. All I wanted! That's it! But nothing's ever simple, is it?"
