More that its dead easy to become permanently completely filthy rich by abusing the current system with no outlay beyond skill points to 'start' the reaction. If it required feats and occupation to establish permanent reserves of wealth, then you might have some actual role for the money to play.
Well, I was talking about my proposed band-aid where a 'wealth check' became a modified profession check. You could spend just skill points, but you'd be approximately the whole random number generator behind someone who actually had it as their primary schtick.

Buying and selling items would only modify your modifier temporarily, which would probably be, "for the duration of the adventure," with the assumption that adventures are generally time-limited.

Better to make selling items grant you a one-off non-stacking bonus.
Everything is edible. Just that there are things only edible once per lifetime.
It's a god-eat-god world.

Procrastination is the thief of time; Year after year it steals, till all are fled,
And to the mercies of a moment leaves; The vast concerns of an eternal scene.

Umm... could you elaborate on this?

If you sell an item, you get a single use bonus to your wealth, up to a maximum value(including your extant bonus) of 1 less bonus than the sold item's value. It lasts for the current arc, or until expended.
