Funny, I just started it a couple nights ago. Playing a Troll Adept focusing on punching things and being a tank.
Problem is, it keeps making me want to play an actual Shadowrun campaign.
I beat Shadowrun: Hong Kong yesterday, I'm very happy with it. :)
I picked up the Shadowrun games, but have never actually gotten around to playing them - been too busy Minecrafting, to be honest. How are they? I'm assuming enjoyable from that response :D
I hate glitched speed runs.Does Out-of-Bounds count as a glitch? Infinite ammo tricks? Or are we talking about the crazy glitches like that Mario one where you use items to rewrite the level completion data and finish the game?
I love watching real speedruns without glitches because it's like sitting down and watching a movie, except its a game you love :p
If you have to ask, then the answer is already clear~So... that's a no, then. To me, glitches are breaking a game; going out of bounds or skipping triggers is exploiting something already in the code, not punching a new loophole in it. But to each their own, YMMV, etc.
Hey everyone. Undertale's (http://store.steampowered.com/app/391540/) a good game and you should get it if you like 90s-style RPGs and a healthy mixture of whimsical humor and mind-screw.
I don't think my explanation can do it justice, but this Boing Boing article's pretty good about it. (http://boingboing.net/2015/09/24/undertale-game.html)
Well the guy is technically making a profit off of Nintendo's IP :tongue
In more upbeat Nintendo news, they want to make the in-game Pokemon PCs you store your extra pokemon at in real life. (http://www.gamnesia.com/podcasts/nwc-nintendo-is-making-the-crazy-technology-from-the-pokemon-games-work-in)
That's ridiculous. Guy didn't even have 4000$ to fork over to pay the fine, it was a fan event. Nintendo would have more to win over the promotion such events generate than they would pursuing the guy that threw the parties.
Copyright law is quickly becoming too draconian, over the fears IP holders have that the internet + new tech such as 3D printers will quickly make IP extremely obsolete.
It's ridiculous. Way, way too draconian.
What's next? Going after people that draw fan-art and use it to promote their original work for profit? Suing tattoo artists because they tattoo IP works on people's bodies at their request? I don't know where it'll end up, honestly.

Oh look, Sony is going to sell us PS2 games all over again...
Meanwhile, no backwards compatibility for the PS3. :p
Did they manage to improve the MP at least? I heard they finally got rid of the macro "every 25 seconds you gotta return your base to manually activate some building abilities besides regular production/research". Aka MULEs, chronoboost, and non-autocast inject larvas.Chronoboost is (in campaign, I don't competitive) passive and applies to one building per nexus with a 5s change-target CD.
Triforce Warriors(click to show/hide)
In other news, Hyrule Warriors Legends was announced some time ago for the 3DS. It includes two new exclusive characters including Linkle as a special reward for those of us who didn't buy the terrible hardware (aka the Wii U) to play the original. And if you did, you can port over all your character data and unlocks to Legends as an apology. The game cut out the Challenge Mode but added several new characters.
And the videos of Linkle are pretty cool too, they give the genderbent Link a unique double crossbow style and she shows less skin than Young Link thanks to her high top boots. Through they had to go for the whole female kicks people route, aren't we over the 1920s sexalization of legs yet? Anyway, they also added Tera (WW), the Hyrule King (also WW), Toon Link (WW again), and the Skull Kid (MM). A golden Ocarina for teleporting around the maps and they have also added the Magic Hammer as a new heavy weapon (not 100% sure what that means). And I've gotta admit, I'm hoping the Hyrule King is useful so I can run around kicking evil's ass as the one true ruler of Hyrule. Winter is coming and there's a newly crowned king that needs to hold a wedding and all of that trash talk.
But seriously, don't buy Triforce Heroes. Rent or burrow it for a few hours instead.
And the "grind" means that there's a number of things you can keep playing and gaining while you play, unlike other games where replaying is just doing the same thing over and over.Yeah, not 100% sure what you're trying to say there. I don't really think you missed the point right?
Demon's Souls remake would be in a weird spot, given it was published by different companies in each region. I could see it end up being polished up by From's second team, and published as a digital download only for PS4. That said, it needs to be a proper remake with the modern souls engine updates, because the bugs and netcode are fucking atrocious by comparison.
I can definitely see DSIII being the last of the Dark series. I'm sure Miyazaki wants to move on to new IP, but I'm sure it would still be Souls-like as with Bloodborne. I'm just hoping they continue to publish for PC, instead of Sony exclusives. They could do something entirely new, or possibly work within existing IP that their new Kadokawa overlords can bestow.
There's a Witcher 3 mod that turns all fights into a game of Gwent (the in game collectible card game). (http://www.gamesradar.com/witcher-mod-turns-all-your-fights-games-gwent/?utm_content=buffera4d76&utm_medium=social&utm_source=facebook.com&utm_campaign=buffer)

Awwww yis.
They couldn't get the fucking lipsync right. Same thing for the movies from what I recall. If you're going to put millions of dollars into the game, at least get those animations right for the big language releases!Or for fuck's sake, let us listen to the original audio!
You're not hyped for FF7R anymore? How about that it's being turned into a multi-part series in order to not cut content? (http://venturebeat.com/2015/12/07/final-fantasy-vii-remake-is-multi-part-to-avoid-cutting-content-says-director/) Or that it will actually be bigger than the original game instead? (http://venturebeat.com/2015/12/07/square-confirms-final-fantasy-vii-remake-will-be-bigger-than-the-original-game/)
For them splitting content, the article mentions nothing about data size or storage limitations. It hints at financial reasons. In all likelihood, they need the sales from part 1 to fund development of part 3 or 4 or whatever. And possibly, they are worried about how many sales they will actually get, so this route will help pacify their investors. That way, if jaded fans don't end up buying FF7R, and the game tanks, then they can cut their losses.
My only surprise is "what took them so long?"

Right now I'm playing the hell out of MGSV: the Phantom Pain. It's a great game, but I love how Konami's essentially trying to enforce online play by gifting you with overpowered mercs, equipment, GMP, and such for "achievements" but only if you're logged in to their servers. I did some tinkering and found out that the equipment (as in vehicles and materials for crafting) and GMP disappear once you go offline, but any mercs you got stay on Mother Base even when offline.
Naughty naughty Konami. :pout
Getting back to the MMORPG camp with Tera Online, a game i've long since considered playing, but only now really gotten to, after making sure it's not very pay to win.
So far, about 2 or 3 hours in, i'm finding the game very nice. Polished, good gameplay, decent voice acting on NPC's. Nice graphics, too, and optimized enough it runs flawlessly on my subpar gaming rig.
Didn't try controller support yet, but it was nice to see it was a thing by having my 360 controller plugged in and seeing by accident that they have a nice little UI thing on the HUD for assigning hotkeys to the controller. Very, very nice.
I still have to get the hang of the chain skill system, and the crafting system - still haven't figured that one out just yet. I'm sure the game will get grindy as all MMORPG's tend to, but Tera seems to have enough stuff to keep you relatively busy.
Haven't bought Afterbirth yet myself,I can sell you one if you like. o.o Oh you meant a video game...

When I played it some years ago, Tera was nice.
When playing on the keyboard, I just keep pressing the same button until the whole chain is over (played as Lancer and Sorcerer). For those skill that had more than one possible chain skill, I would map the skill I use the most close to the original skill's button. It worked for me.
Seeing the Brawler class, I am thinking on returning... But the time to play, Oh the time to play, it is so scarce these days...
I also can't forgive their patch/content team for fucking up Aion and neutering the design of rifts.

If you specialize in a particular path of offense, multipliers get sort of absurd.
What messed me a up a bit was going back and forth between Dark Souls, where rolls have iframes.
Unless you have nothing better to do, are a completionist, or need gold. Leave the treasure alone at sea. It's boring and tedious, and doesn't lead to any interesting discoveries.
Craft & use witcher gear, sell everything else.
Heart of Stone expansion: main quest was really good, only 1 other notable side quest stuck out in my mind.
Looking forward to the next one.
Maybe spoil the methods of getting which ending, if you think you'll get irritated by potential results.
Gap in between levels and next set, yea, but I almost never found a drop that filled the gap, since presumably for witcher gear the base values were comparatively high for the level prereq. The upgrade also inherits runes, so no waste in popping a max rune in. I see your point if you really need 3 runes of multipliers for something.
I used light armor all the way. Quen was enough to cover my derps. Though as I understand it there are basically unkillable adrenaline face tank builds you can do.

Infact am breezing through most of this game with insane ease and it's pissing them off considering my inexperience with this series :rolleyes

You know what area I've found that I do hate?
Sen's Fortress.
Who the bloody hell designs an area that to pass through risks instakilling constantly, and has content all over the fucking place? O_o
Agreed on the Anor Londo guards, they're just plain annoying and add artificial rather than real difficulty. If you get a bad pattern or the AI decides it hates you, you will be shot down and die. The pendulums, though, they're in a very set and specific pattern. It's even somewhat of a trope in games by this point, many games do the swinging pendulum blade things. Though, usually there's a lever somewhere on the level where you can shut them down permanently or semi-permanently (until you leave the area).

It's not actually that difficult, if you know what you're doing. Get more Attunement and then go get a second copy of Soul Arrow from the dude in a cage right below Firelink Shrine. You now have 60 soul arrows to spam. Plus Heavy Soul Arrow, If you played the game before, you'll also know that the only useful trinket to start with is the Master Key. Which you can use to get early access to Darkroot Garden and the Enchanted Ember, to get an early Enchanted Staff for more damage. Now, you go grab the binoculars by running naked to where you get them in the graveyard and... Congratulations, you have just made 90% of the content trivial. Use binoculars to aim, spam Soul Arrow until target is dead. The only challenge now are bosses.
But you can farm enemies for souls and get strong enough that you'll not really get into too much trouble. You can play the game as normal from here onwards, or use the ledge-jump trick for early access to Lower Undead Burg and Griggs of Vinheim, for more offensive spells, to make everything even more trivial.
Make no mistake, the pure sorc route is one of the most powerful in PvE, and the only reason people think that it's hard is either because they don't know where all the spells are, they don't know the best route to get there, and they don't upgrade stats properly. Capra Demon fight is even made trivial by use of Hush and Hidden Body, as you won't aggro the dogs instantly by entering the fight area, and can therefore kill them before Capra Demon insta gibs you due to the rapid stacking of poise damage.
But then again, everyone just gets Havel's early and use the Zweihander and wreck everything, and Sorc only takes a bit more planning than that.

Why didn't i notice it before? Skyrim never ceases to impress, even years after it was released.
I was just talking to my cousin about how Magic became a REALLY expensive hobby. I mean, it was never really a cheap hobby, but nowadays you have to have a LOT of disposable income if you want in on the hobby. Sad to see that it also applies to the official computer games... I still remember that Magic game for the PS1. Good times.
At least we still sort of got Magic Workstation & Cockatrice. Been meaning to get back into the game.
And for some reason this E3 they'll be showing off Zelda U in a playable state, but not any NX details. :psyduck

It's cheaper to buy the actual cards than to play their game now. If this keeps up, they'll probably charge a six hundred dollar connection fee per game by next year.[/rant]We're one step closer to that.
yeah, I play commander due to it's lower entry cost and easier cost to keep up todate. The only issue is the mana base, I currently have a good mana base for only one good multicolor deck, as I get closer to no longer being in college and not having the pell grant money I'm going to start doing stuff to fix that, along with my computer.Commander mana is actually pretty easy giving the game's low expectations and longer duration of play. You don't need expensive lands plus with the limit of 1/each it's not like the guy that paid 80 bucks for a classic dual gained a huge advantage.
Sure, once i reestablished myself with a sizeable amount of cards to trade & resell, i could estabilize and not need to keep dropping in cash every month just to keep up.Yeah by keeping up with the cycles you can sell/trade off the cards just before they start cycling out to buy the newer ones. You get an ever renewing set of cards to play with while mitigating costs which is pretty nice, but it's expensive as crap when a broken card gets printed (like the uber jace card).
And Zelda U gets delayed again so it will be a simultaneous release for it and the Wii U.That's almost fine with me. I have plans to skip buying the Wii U entirely, it's dual release can help with that.

http://www.polygon.com/2016/5/2/11568964/nintendo-nx-price-loss so, they are banking on nintendo fans to be typical nintendo fans and hope that nostalgia works on everyone else or people want a second console that will more than likely be under proformace as compared to the others. Hopefully with the NX they can regain those third party publishers who said no thanks to the WII U..but then again Nintendo was never really about third party to begin with.
I respect that Relic tried to do something different with DoW2. I think it was ultimately a big step back from DoW, which was a really great game, but still, I can see what they were going for.Gameplay (http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/bRNzRsaDJieNeZKeMfEw4H.jpg) screenshots (http://cdn.mos.cms.futurecdn.net/6Pqc2ZPME28GLxGNZoELmL.jpg). I wouldn't - that's far too many units for a DoW2 fight. Always hated that after the first game when you could have actual armies. :shakefist
I was sort of hoping they were just focusing on 3 races in the trailer for the obvious 3 symmetry. But, we'll see. The biggest problem is that now I really want to do some Warhammer 40k RPGing, but all the licensed ones kinda suck and I don't really have anyone to run it.
You seem to be implying that 40K tabletop is balanced.
This is totally opinionated on my part, which is to say there's no argument or value judgment to it. I liked Black Crusade the most of all of them, even though I am not in love with playing Chaos. There are two elements of the whole FFG approach that turn me off. They are awfully rules-heavy, which in and of itself isn't a problem except they combine that with being pretty restrictive on concepts, which is a combo I don't love. And, there is a strong ... I guess I'll call it gamist element to them. There were times where the game almost forces you not to think about your character or your concept in making a decision but what will give you the most requisition or covenant points or whatever.I was sort of hoping they were just focusing on 3 races in the trailer for the obvious 3 symmetry. But, we'll see. The biggest problem is that now I really want to do some Warhammer 40k RPGing, but all the licensed ones kinda suck and I don't really have anyone to run it.
I actually quite like Dark Crusade and Rogue Trader. They are fairly brutal but can be fun if you find the right group.
Oh, god no. 40k has worse balance issues than 3.5 and that is saying something.
RTS games in concept can be balanced though but as the number of races/units increases the difficulty of doing so rises exponentially.

Even legal (http://consoleclassics.co/) ones (http://store.steampowered.com/).
Let me rephrase: I want to play PS1/2 games on my television using a device that is permanently attached to my television. A Playstation TV is much easier than trying to set up a computer dedicated to emulating, especially because PS2 emulators can be a pain.PS2 emulators are pretty easy, it's getting gameshark codes to work that's the problem.
I don't really poke around the PS store, I pretty much moved to Steam, but you should be able to poke around on the store through the Internet to even see if they have what you like because if you're like me they never do.
Like I seriously wish Banjo-Kazooie would have been released on the Wii's virtual console but that ship I'm sure has sailed no thanks to Microsoft.
Shadowrun Returns and Dragonfall are amazing, I love them (hopefully you will too). I've wanted to play the online one but what you're describing is what I was afraid of so never bought it.

So I just finished Shadowrun Returns as a rigger. Fun game, but definitely not too challenging on the default mode. I was expecting something a little harder for the final battle. Installing Dragonfall now, so I'll probably start that sometime soon.
As a side note, played it on a Windows tablet and didn't have any problems at all. Steam version supports touch controls easily.

That's probably because you played Doom when it came out. Yeah, that one always got me. Do you not see the heavily armed flying machine hovering 5 feet behind me? Are you blind? In Dragonfall if you drain someone's AP they fall asleep and as a minor display bug if there is a story deal after the feat the "sleeping" NPC will walk and talk with the overheard snoring emote.

No, it's the fact that old-Doom seems a lot more gung-ho and nigh suicidal than more recent shooters. Circle strafe everything.Pretty much all the old shooters were because that's how they were designed.
Did you ever actually played Goldeneye? Because I'm old enough to have played it when it came out on my country, and there were already projectile physics. No, it's the fact that old-Doom seems a lot more gung-ho and nigh suicidal than more recent shooters. Circle strafe everything.Pretty much all the old shooters were because that's how they were designed.
Like closer to your era would have been Goldeneye I suppose, you would have been two when it came out. In the game's mechanics even on hard mode the NPCs only hit you like 15% of the time, had a reaction time of "shit", and could get stuck in rolling animations. Blitzing the game simply meant you took less damage than generally any other method.
Somewhere in the Xbox/PS2 era they could finally code bullets instead of using line-of-sight lasers. You could now fire a projectile that over a length of time transverse the map and check for hits in real time. Dodging and blocking enemy fire became a new mechanic and the new standard, blitzing was no longer possible simply because the devas moved away from enormous miss chances to embracing the idea you'd use cover to negate the shots and so the enemies simply became deadlier.
The main point comes back to stagnation. You are sick of Call of Duty after Call of Duty and want something different, but your solution is simply more stagnation, let's halt the innovative process and roll things back so we can have repeat after repeat of something as stupid as no regenerating health because the best solution to repeating the old is apparently: repeating the old. :rolleyesNon-regenerating health Dark Souls says hi.
Non-regenerating health Dark Souls says hi.
Except, SorO, that Doom did innovate, in a different direction. That's nice, but it's RD bitching that Doom was copypasta and her reasoning is regenerating health. In other words, those innovations were entirely ignored, which just further explains how pointless bitching about HP regen or not is.
Did you ever actually played Goldeneye? Because I'm old enough to have played it when it came out on my country, and there were already projectile physics. The grenades & mines were but every single bullet (and laser & fist) used a hit scan. The red streaks you seen were just added effects. Hell, even in the updated engine, Perfect Dark, the crossbow bolts were nothing more than lasers teleporting to their target. Do ucodebro?
Dark Souls isn't an FPS, has an inventory and portable healing items, and is entirely missing guns (or in the case of Bloodborne, a focus on guns as actual weaponry instead of just a parry mechanic).Pretty much that. If we wanted to find a no-regen game of any genre I'd just open Steam and pull a couple hundred examples that are currently on sale. Like heck GMod doesn't have regenerating health either, but I have Doom3 & Halos weapons in it :P

Soro, your strawman is showing. Not really, yours is. I personally cannot fathom how regenerating hit points really has anything to do with calling a game innovative or not which is my point.
I'm looking at Doom's weapons, and I'm pretty certain the rocket, plasma gun, and initial projectile of the BFG are all non-hitscan.Most rocket type weapons are projectiles, but yeah I think the main shot on the BFG was calculated out like the plasmagun, it's explosion was hitscan with a very wide damage variable. And actually, the plasma gun does serve as a great example of the difference in mechanics.

Some games tend to mix and match and it can be irritating. Like you may have played the first Halo, all human guns were instantaneous but Covenant weapons had delays. As a result you need to line your cross hairs up with one set and lead a moving target with another. I think Max Payne holds a record as being the first all-projectile game.
Now I just need a proper Team Fortress mod for Doom, not the no-grenade hats and crits bullshit that is TF2.
Granted I'm too old for my reflexes to be worth a damn in FPS anymore.

Blizzard games always end up making me bitter. I'm done with them.
Overview of running my first Path of Exile league:
2 goldrims. One Vaal-bricked tabula that I vendor'ed. Redblade Tramplers of Cadiro, making my facebreaker marauder happy.
A 8%/70% increased Rarity Andvarius from Cadiro during the last day of the league. A level 67 ice trapper and a 76 Sparker. Decent haul of currency. Level 1 MTX for those sweet golden footprint cosmetics.
All in all, I'm pretty pleased. Will probably try out Propechy league that starts tomorrow.

Really? Personally I have had pretty much nothing but good experiences out of Blizzard barring Diablo 3.

Going to start prophecy myself, never really get into end game in PoE but I like to make oddball builds and level them up.
Last one involved permanent Righteous Fire, one before that was a Pillar of the Caged God build with as much Strength as possible.
This time I am going for a Ranger(Deadeye) (for +AoE and +Projectile Damage/Speed) build using fireball

Well, the part where Hideo Kojima jumped out from Konami last year wasn't a very good omen.
Still more than what what Megaman gets from them nowadays though.

I honestly don't know how people manage playing TES on consoles.
player.addspell 00092C48That's all the mod is. A list of game commands that are automatically executed in sequence when invoked. Any buttplug could perform it if someone decided to list them on the wiki in the same section I pulled the previously spoken of method to combine the two sides. At least this author scored a little higher on the self realization part and hosted it off NexusWorld because even he realized no one should ever have to pay for something like that.

Apparently the website Nexus Mod demands money to even fucking sign up for their forums to access locally hosted mods or to even see any post marked mature.
I think you have to be a paying member to use their 'download with manager' stuff instead of 'manual download', which only saves you about 2 button presses anyway.
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/2107261546/ethos-it-begins-again
A rather interesting game with 3 distinct styles of playing it; as an emperor building your own empire and sending soldiers/mercs to fight, as an adventure delving through dungeons with a combat style that reminds me Dark Souls, or as a gladiator in the bloodsport arena in both single and team pvp battles.
Or something, I don't explain things good. Check it^
Just randomly ran into it on Steam's Greenlight and found their Kickstarter and I instantly wanted to fund this shit :D
And I don't actually do this whole kickstarter funding thing, ever really.
No Man's Sky is one of Steam's best sellers, but look anywhere else on the Internet and all I see are flaming garbage wrecks of drama.

I'm not sure what happened to Skyrim, was was going to happen (and may have since) was a remastered edition that brings computer mod packs to console systems.
But i loved reading your adventures...I totally spaced on them.
So anyway, i put in a full skeleton and HDT physics for skyrim and now I feel like just undoing those mods and going back to the mods I used before.Man I had so many problems trying to get the Skeletons to work, the Script Extender, SkyUI, FNIS, ZAZ Animation... :sh ;)

Anyway, I ended up treating modding Skyrim like modding Minecraft. More does not mean better. So I mostly focus on new ares and such and just run those when I have the time then wipe the mod and restore from a previous save like it never happened.
I wonder how many 3rd AAA publishers will come back to Nintendo for the full console's run

No more steam workshop, now you have either do mods via mexus or other site,or go thru beth's site.I use the mod manger anyway since it can do profiles.
I've seen a lot of stuff about the special edition being a huge letdown because everything it did was done waaaaaay better by community mods...That's kind of sad really. You'd think the price grab would have started with trying to buy out the mod makers.

Maybe they make too much money in donations for a game they didn't create...
Edit - Apparently the mods cannot use external assets. That's pretty much what I meant before, no Tomas the Train dragons (as dumb of a mod that was) because Bethesda wants to steer clear of copyright claims.
That's only on the Playstation, which also has a lower size limit than the Xbox one.Not even close.
While 1GB certainly doesn't seem like a lot of space for mods, you have to remember that Sony has refused to allow custom external assets for both Skyrim and Fallout 4 mods, meaning only mods that already use existing in-game assets are allowed. As external assets are usually the largest part of a mod, 1GB seems like it would be enough. And apparently it was Sony.

If it were entirely about size limitations you could add w/e you want as long as it obeyed a size limitation. Reskin are nothing more than HD image files anyway, the PS4's 1gb limitation is enough to hold over a hundred thousand full 1920x1080 images. 5 GB for mods on Xbox One vs 1GB on PS,what's interesting is that on some forum discussions about the external assets issue is that it's done to prevent folks from "hacking" the PS4. It honestly feels like Sony just said "Fine...if we have to..." when it came to using mods for both Skyrim and FO4.
I've been feeling rather nostalgic about some games lately... I really wished they'd remake the Neverwinter Nights games with modern graphics, or at least give me a 3.5/5th ed RPG of the same depth and capabilities. The fan-made campaigns were truly amazing. Sadly the community has faded over the time and not many new things are being released anymore.
Price: 299,99 bucks. Also online will be paid like PSN and XBL... :shakefistConsole price is okay, I guess. Shame about the online monthly subscription system though I doubt I'll be interested in a Nintendo online game anyway.
When Legend of Zelda BotW? LAUNCH TITLENeat. :)
Fire Emblem Warriors: Dynasty Warriors+Fire Emblem :loveInteresting! Hope they bring back characters from Fire Emblem 4 GotHW. Best one so far IMO. A remake/remastered version would be nice.
Shin Megami Tensei: Early in developmentAlways a good news. They tend to be good.
Disgaea 5That's great! I loved that series though... I don't think I'll ever have time for another Disgaea. Time tends to get warped when you get too close to one of them and then that's how black holes are formed. :sobbing Unless I can convince myself not to try to get everything down to perfection until a new game pries my attention off of it.
+1 for a remake/remaster. I tried to play it, but couldn't stand the super dated graphics too long. Not a fan of some of the mechanic quirks like unable to swap weapons directly for free between units either, but I did love the "deploy everybody, multiple castles per map, final destination go!" part.QuoteFire Emblem Warriors: Dynasty Warriors+Fire Emblem :loveInteresting! Ah, but that's the main advantage of the Switch-as a portable, you can do your Disgaea grind while traveling or when you have to wait for somebody outside your home! :pQuoteDisgaea 5That's great! So far it seems I'll just borrow the console and Zelda off a friend or rent them and then forget about the Switch. It'll probably hinge on what they'll do with the Fire Emblem franchise. They did release some nice Fire Emblems for the gamecube and Wii, so hopefully they'll do so for the Switch too. Wii U ended up missing a lot of main franchises. I did defend that console, but the game drought ended up too much even from Nintendo's side. Really hoping they learned their lesson and can produce a nice flow of games.
The Switch gives me a better impression than everything they released after the cube. But that's me.

the company initially listed 48 third-party publishers, studios, and middleware developers. Among these partners, Nintendo listed major publishers such as Activision, Bethesda, Electronic Arts, Sega, Square Enix, and Ubisoft.Looks good then, however
Capcom, who was also announced as an initial third-party publisher for the Switch, stated that while they are committed to releasing titles for the Switch, they "do feel that there are differences in the desired direction and the play-style of the Nintendo Switch and those of the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One" and may not be releasing cross-platform games for the new console

I have Disgaea 5 on PS4. I am pleased with it. They always seem to stumble in various different ways, unable to recapture the original's magic. Specifically with D2 which tried too hard. But 5 feels pretty nice. It's strange. On paper, the characters are annoying and some of them started out such, but they grow on you quick. The only complains I have is that the MC's plotline spins his tires on his plot for far too long (I get it, he's got a dark side, we don't need the Nth reminder it exists), but the second half of the game has some enjoyable character focused chapters which I think worked well.
Plus, SUPER OLYMIPAAAAAAAA!
8.5 Overloads out of Alma Ice Sculptures.
How is Zelda not a good enough exclusive to buy it? :p

Speaking of which, Nintendo announced a Direct for 18 of January focused on Fire Emblem! Stay tuned! :D...Soon.

Coming 2 February for android and later for apple devices.I really hope it won't feel like that final fantasy mobile game. I got bored out of it after the first chapter.
As an aside, Fire Emblem Echoes means that Improved Genealogy of the Holy War may not be that far behind since it appears Nintendo is remaking all of the originals by crhonological order. SSSQQQUUUUEEE!!!!:sobbing May it be so.
Yanno, like how the wiiu Hyrule Warriors practically got abandoned after launch in favor of the 3ds version. They didn't abandon it.
only available to the wiiu thru buying the entire game again and the dlc on the 3ds and transferring it to the wiiu.Huh? Season pass is $9.99 for WiiU only (http://www.zelda.com/hyrule-warriors/dlc/), you don't have to buy HWL or it's DLCs at all...
Hidden cost of owning a Switch http://www.polygon.com/2017/1/20/14304242/nintendo-switch-price-must-buy-accessories (http://www.polygon.com/2017/1/20/14304242/nintendo-switch-price-must-buy-accessories)The good news is most of those "hidden" costs are a desperate attempt by an X-Box fan trying to complain about the Switch and they just don't hold up very well.
Like the MicroSD, it's not 28 bucks is $19.99 or free if you're like me and have unused spares laying about or totally unneeded if you just buy the hard copy because it's about the only way to hack your save file these days. Admittedly the Switch's controller price is kind of a black mark, Nintendo is the family console of casual gaming and only offering two controllers for free and then you have to spend another sixty bucks, or 30/controller, to round out for a family of four is kind of lame. All well, at least you're not spending 70 bucks (https://www.amazon.com/POWER-FUSION-Pro-Controller-Xbox-One/dp/B014MRVRIA) on a "pro" X-Box controller just so you finally have a second one in the house or 90 bucks (https://www.avengercontroller.com/product/avenger-reflex-xbox-one-now-available/) on a "trick" X-Box controller because dammit, buttons matter! ;)
EDIT: How did Nintendo do online communication between players was it just text or what?Probably through annoying icons like Triforce Heroes so little kids are not exposed to the none-existent words created out of mashing the word "fuck" with "tits", "dick", "ass", "fuck" or "urmom" that makes up your typical teen's extremely limited vocabulary online.
Didn't keep people from doing stuff like "Your mother so rank I've fainted" though. On the one hand that's still terrible, but on the other at least it's not too obscene.
Now that's a cash grab, you can break out your Nintendo hating pitch forks over it if you like.
User comments seemed quick in bringing up how you used to have to buy memory cards. I guess they forgot about the Gamecube required one too.
Those cards don't matter much if you don't buy any games thru the eShop tho, right?Huh?
It's the kind of device that only Nintendo could make. It's really a Nintendo thing. And they've been a very good partner with us, whereas maybe before they were less interested in the types of things that we did or some other groups did. So, I don't know where it's going to go, but I think it's a really smart platform. We like it a lot. It's exciting to bring Skyrim to the Nintendo audience.
Sony admits the PS4 and the pro are both peasant wastes of money and will just let people play their latest games on the superior PC. (https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2017/03/13/youll-soon-be-able-to-play-ps4-games-on-a-windows-pc/#7af133751c8b)
Nintendo now stands alone as the last console manufacturer with exclusives since Xbox games already had moved to windows as well.
It's really more that Sony will continue to make consoles (you don't see M$ giving up on the XBone, do you?) and also get extra revenue from selling games on PC too, through a monthly fee service that's pure software, so it's mostly profits. But it also means that, if the trial run is successful, all those Souls people on PC will finally, possibly have a chance at getting Bloodborne. And hey, if you wanna cough up $20 a month to play Sony's exclusives on your computer instead of buying a console, I'm sure Sony will be fine with that. They don't have to sell you a console at or below cost, and can just rake in the cash.

And that's a good thing when you think about it because there's no real advantage to the PS4/Xbone anymore.
Were Diablo 2, Total War, Counterstrike, World of Warcraft, StarCraft II ever released on console? Every platform has very good exclusives - but PC is the only platform that can, in the end, run everything (Hello, emulators!).
There's also just a general move towards turning consoles into PCs. There's the absolutely explicit move of Microsoft, which straight up turned the XBox into a PC (it runs Windows 10). There's Sony, which is multi-platform (PlayStation Now on PC), and runs on PC hardware (the CPU/GPU are just variants of AMD's low power CPU and high power GPU). And then there's Nintendo, whose Switch runs on NVidia's platform, a merger of ARM's CPU tech (found in every mobile phone) and NVidia's GPU tech (most PCs).
Once upon a time, PowerPC chips and Cell processors found a home in consoles and made them unique, but these days, a console is just a PC with a restricted operating system on it.
You may remember the steam machines announced a few years back.
Can't we all just agree that while some prefer consoles over PCs and others PCs over consoles that the key thing is enjoyment?I'd say so, but try telling that to the PC Master Race. :P
Speaking of the Switch, pirates are already reverse-engineering the carts.Good.

Clearly Nintendo should focus on the less than 0,004%. :rolleyes
people will ask themselves why bother when they can play the same games on the PCs they already have.
Fuck Zelda, I want CEMU to run Bayonetta without the ear-splitting glitches every time you go into Witch time. You don't need to spend thousands of dollars on a deva team for that, just press the mute button for your TV.
So the only reason to buy "consoles" nowadays are exclusives. But when Sony and Microsoft are both going "You know what? Now you can play our exclusives on actual PCs!", it's only a matter of time for players to fully migrate. Now those who already bought a PS4/Xbone won't set it on fire, but new kids won't bother and when/if PS5/XVista is announced, people will ask themselves why bother when they can play the same games on the PCs they already have.
Emulators aren't exactly a secret. If people want to play Zelda Botw on the PC, they only need to throw their money at that emulator group instead of Nintendo.5500 dudes supporting the emulator.

Clearly Nintendo should focus on the less than 0,004%. :rolleyes
Now my question to you if if Zelda Botw hadn't been a launch title or available on PC/other consoles how many of those switches would have been sold :P *recalls the last two pages of back and forth of talking about how the only thing separating consoles and pc were exclusives*
Emulators aren't exactly a secret. If people want to play Zelda Botw on the PC, they only need to throw their money at that emulator group instead of Nintendo.
But again, only a few thousand out of millions of players did it, which I believe is about the amount of envious nintendo haters that desperately want to play awesome Zelda BoTW but won't give Nintendo a single dime come the apocalypse.
Plus, the Switch can work as a portable. I know of no tablet or cellphone on the market that could hope to run Zelda BoTW. Being able to play on the go is a major advantage.
EDIT: Since we're at it, Nintendo promises a full E3 show for this year. (http://nintendoeverything.com/reggie-says-nintendo-will-have-a-big-e3-this-year-showcasing-games-for-both-switch-and-3ds/)
After you get Bombs/Magnesis/Stasis/Cryonis, finishing the three mandated shrines and getting the Paraglider, you're home free. Unlike previous Zelda games where areas were completely locked off because you don't have the Slingshot/Bow/Grappling Hook/Ball & Chain/Whatever, BoTW gives you every tool you need to beat the game in, literally, the tutorial area. That's like saying Pokemon gives you every tool you need to complete the game before collecting all eight badges (which is entirely possible through at least three different glitches).
maybe they didn't understand YOUR expectations, I haven't gone looking for them but yours is the first negative post about the game I've seen.Nah.

You are cut off from sections of the map. Either you can't swim/climb far enough (stamina-based limitations), or it's too hot/cold (equipment-based limitations), or the enemies deal like 8+ hearts in damage for one shot kills (heart-based limitations) which can by bypassed by player skill but then again can you to an 8 minute speed run of SMB3 and finish with 99 lives? No, yeah, near perfection for years of playing isn't a relevant discussion point.
Then there areas like Zora's Domain or that other one with a constant thunderstorm of auto-lightning death (boss-based limitations) and then finally the worst ones, random bullshit-limitations like rain/thunderstorm/night/bloodmoon penalties that are specifically designed to force you to stop what you're doing, detour to a safe area, painstakingly wait on a stupid fire, run all the way back, and finally resume your progress which is perhaps the most infuriating element of the game. Not even the fact that is seems the game is designed around 500 defense & 30 hearts with infinite food as the minimum prerequisite for running around on the map, but fact that I personally have to waste my time on tedious annoying crap every 20 minutes of playing. And it's the same mechanic for stamina-based limitations, go waste time playing herbalist to mix up some stamina boosts & replenishers for temporary access that'll get revoked until you waste time again.
Can you imagine if another game tried this?
* Halo 2: Stop and wait five minutes for shields edition.
* Link Between Worlds: Wait ten minutes each time you travel between the worlds edition.
* Super Mario Bros - Rename Version #247: Using pipes takes eight minutes edition.
It's a cheap shitty mechanic designed to inflate playtime. It seems it may be useful to quickly consume the time left on your +20 max heart food (a value of finding and completing eighty shrine puzzles) but you know what's a great idea? Not offering crap like that to begin with.
And btw, horses are pay-to-win. If you paid for the Amiibo you can just summon Epona for a horse with maximum stats and is perfectly tame, 100% chance of summoning on your first usage. Best of all even if she dies you can simply resurrect her or wait until she drops again from the very same Amiibo.
Nintendo's core flaw with this game is they have no understanding of their player base. Ignoring the main objective is fun because you're ignoring what the game wants you to do. Side quests are supposed to be rewarding and fun distractions. Heck speed running Metroid was awesome because you got upgrades sooner than you should. Railroading them into playing the game by actively punishing them for deviations while teasing "but you technically can have full access!" is worse than Turbine's game model with DDO.
maybe they didn't understand YOUR expectations, I haven't gone looking for them but yours is the first negative post about the game I've seen.Nah.
Also the user ratings of the game have been holding strong at being lower than the professional "critics" which has led to the whole controversy that Nintendo paid everyone off.
Then of course their are the fans. Like Metacritic has been under fire every since it posted it's 97% because it didn't list BotW high enough to please the fans. Which is pretty inline with your response really, Zelda is perfect so it must be me right? :p
Isn't the map like larger than other current open world games' maps by a factor of 2x if not more?Sort of. Comparing the size of tiled low-res cel-blured floor panel called "grass" in one game to another's high-res ground tile is a little unfair.

To do a no mod run or just go mod crazy when I get my FO4 copy on tuesday......choices choices...
I'd go with a minimally modded run. Only mods that fixes glitches or are just quality of life improvement mods, much like SkyUI was for Skyrim. No mods that change gameplay or add content. Graphics ok as well.
To play completely Vanilla... I can't even.

I have a Vanilla save on my xbox along with a couple of modded saves, but I may do a Vanilla run for the first play since it's just the base FO4.. Speaking of SkyUI, I got it for skyrim but then got a mod that turns off everything but the MCM lol.
I've already gotten a good idea of which mods,I'll download once I do a modded run, but if you'd like to suggest any, feel free to.
I'm not sure if it's due to installing F4SE incorrectly or what.If it helps given company/engine/community relation, I had issues with Steam/Nexus not installing Skyrim's script extender correctly. Several mods wouldn't actually work correctly until I manually installed it then noticeably lag shot up by a ton, it's likely the script extenders are simply new delegates for event hooks, but everything worked as advertised until I promptly removed it.

You can take the sidequests that grant you a Skell License as soon as you're done with Chapter 6. Some of them you might have finished already.I just got my mech in Xenoblade and BOY IS IT OVERPOWERED
What chapter does that happen? I wanna know how far off I am.
For reference, I'm only at the start of Chapter 6 (I can start it anyways, haven't started it yet too busy exploring and doing side quests :lmao )
So apparently to upgrade my Barbarian Armor in BotW I need to kill Lynels who are the real hardest class of creatures in the game to kill, with the silver manes being the highest color palette swap. They seem deadly but they suck so bad in melee it's mostly a deal of "do you have enough durability to deal 3,000 damage"?. Heck, you don't even have to dodge their charge attacks, Stasis+ gives you free hits and they are auto-stunned immediately following that giving you a nice time saving heavy arms spin for some rapid damage. And their slightly faster triple swing allows even mistimed back flips to trigger a flurry.
I think upgrading the barbarian armor is going to be the easiest set to upgrade in the game so far.
If you play your cards right, he'll stun, and you'll be able to land next to him and mount him.So that's what mounting them is supposed to do. I tried to tame it. :lmao
The Ancient Guardian set is better than the Barbarian Armor if you're using Ancient Guardian Weapons,Yeah I'm slowly working on that set, rupees are a huge deal and I'm bored to tears farming it. Excluding your 3,400 house and how generally most sets of armor run you 1,500~3,000 rupees and several of them are required. It takes like 17,600 rupees to buy the ancient set & unlock all four fountains, I think the final upgrade on the armor requires star fragments which are pretty rare, and plus there is a lot of guardian kills between you and a full set. So it's pretty much the end game armor.
There's a dungeon full of guardians but i can't remember the name ATM, it's like, the single best spot for farming guardians.Nah, Hyrule field is.
Why did Nintendo opt to be such sadists right now?I have no idea. I really think a couple elements of BotW was added at the very last minute.
Edit: Yeah... like I have the patience to wait for your opinions... Of course I just bought the damned thing!lol.
They added a few things to what the different stats do in Torment, it seems. The mental ability scores unlock different dialog options, and Constitution increases your regeneration rate. I opted to go for high mental stats so that I could get the most out of the story (since it is very much based on the story). It will probably make the combat a bit slower/tougher, but I think it's worth it. Having a blast so far! :DEdit: Yeah... like I have the patience to wait for your opinions... Of course I just bought the damned thing!lol.
I don't recall the story too much, pretty sure I've never beaten it either, but it was pretty good. Looking over the enhanced features it's pretty nice. It's been ages since I played through. Pro tip, I think it uses the same character generator the rest of the series used so you need to look up the Ability Score charts to 2nd. I think Dex 7~14 provides the same bonus and it's impossible to gain more than 2hp/lvl from Con unless you're a Fighter, use the reroll/save and try to generate the highest amount of points possible then allocate them into you what you need.
3D HD graphics don't just grow on trees, in particular when you need to fit them with a wide range of animations that Zelda BoTW's gameplay demands.*Watches a Moblin "kick"*

Oh I believe you when you say Nintendo is new to this 3D HD stuff.
Except using cell-shaded creatures means you don't actually have to use HD textures.
And Skyrim customization shows up weapon & armor models with actual HD textures do in fact grow on trees by unpaid designers hoping for a donation or two.
But I mean, Nintendo is new to this.
Finished PS: Torment. What an awesome game, especially the first half (before Ravel). The ending was pretty decent, too. I replayed it a few times with different answers just to see how they affected the outcome. Had it crash a handful of times, but I had saved frequently so it was no big deal. Would definitely recommend getting the enhanced version (on steam) and running through it, if you haven't before. Supposedly the original was pretty buggy, and they fixed all of that and also added a few tweaks (quick loot, etc).
BTW: it's totally about the story. If you're looking for something combat/graphics driven... this isn't it...
It's "easy" when you have hundreds/thousands of people willing to work for free for hundreds/thousands of hours. You mean like the Loz fan base or the paid professions that released an HD Zelda teaser for the Wii U over five years ago and had a playable BotW demo for over three years before release?
Skyrim did not run smoothly at launch. When you add a dozen mods from different people you'll be lucky if it doesn't crash outright. That'd be the blind fanboi rebuttal right there" "Yeah well, I downloaded a bunch of shit mods from a bunch of terrible people on Skyrim and it didn't work so well. So logical conclusion is BotW must be better!"
Finished PS: Torment. How long did that take you O.o
Well... It IS a Bethesda game. And it IS the same engine as Skyrim, only tweaked a bit , so... IDK what you expected, of course it'll be bugy AF :lmao
Don't preorder... That's a sin. Especially CoD games which are basically annual cash grabs, incomplete games filled with DLC's. Throwing money their way only encourages that behavior in other developers, seeking to emulate their success...
That being said it's sad that the state of affairs is unlikely to change as people won't stop preordering or buying those games. Gamers simply aren't organized enough to boycott.
I am personally biased against FPS games. Frankly, they seem like the damn laziest way to make a videogame.
A book still has more varied and/or unique content than most FPS games~
But you can't realistically compare games across genres. They're entirely different things. It's like writing up a comparison between Civilization and Dark Souls.
I love books... What's wrong with that? :D I did think more than once that torment is basically a fancy "choose your adventure" book... but I actually was happy about that realization. :PI am personally biased against FPS games. Frankly, they seem like the damn laziest way to make a videogame.
That's how I feel sometimes when it comes to RPGs that give your character a name and backstory, when they do that it just feels like I'm reading a book instead of playing a game.

Perspective is actually something i was reading about recently. The perspective they use in videogames plays EXTREMELY poorly with big FOVs, so you lose peripheral vision, otherwise you create massive distortions. There are several MUCH better projections available.
This video exemplifies some of the projections using a house from Life is Strange: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TaREC6hwaR0
Pannini seems to give the best results, but Mercator can be good as well depending on FOV. Fisheye is just weird.
The point being... There's a lot that can be improved with FPS games from changing the projection that's being used ALONE.
Games are stuck using the same projection that were used for Wolfenstein.
This is baaaaaad. Currently technology CAN do better...
Europa/Hearts of Iron/Crusader Kings don't have to worry TOO much about balance. Haven't seen or heard of a competitive scene, or even many people that do online at all.
Nintendo doesn't love rereleasing things when it isn't them. Free fan games included. (http://nintendoeverything.com/nintendo-files-takedown-notice-against-fan-made-zelda-breath-of-the-wild-nes/)
idk, Nintendo has always loved to release things in a way that forces you to constantly rebuy them. :P
At least you're not playing BotW on a Wii U I suppose, as part of the expansion pass you get a Nintendo Switch t-shirt to run around in and it'll probably sit in your inventory for the rest of your life reminding you every single time you scroll through your items to change or eat or cook that you should buy a frigging Switch. Because that's exactly what they did, an in game commercial for another console.
I'll just point out that when you tried to download the "free" game it threw you a window asking forYeah, reddit is hanging him out to dry too. Blaming him for Nintendo removing it and borderline calling him stupid for not thinking it was going to happen. Which led to the next step after he announced he was going to continue with a different art set, it was all a publicity stunt. And I can see that. 1.3 has a lot of problems with it and you had to sit through a donation ad, the teaser videos use a never-will-be-released version that looks promising but what appears in video does not appear in the demo. And as expected no more updates, instead please support my next game!your money"donations". Before you got any chance to try it.
I was used to the Nintendo that released complete games. Ones i could buy and not rage at the fact that 70%+ of the game is behind Paywalls of differing kinds. No more, i guess. They're just like any other game company now. Sad.Fanbois are currently defending against Nintendo is EA comments while trying to convince you that BotW is a full game and the missing Zelda standards like a monster grinder and hard mode don't count on Reddit.
The N64 and game boy(color) Zeldas didn't have those either. They can hardly be called "standards".I was used to the Nintendo that released complete games. The N64 and game boy(color) Zeldas didn't have those either. They can hardly be called "standards".I'm not sure what you're implying? OoT's Master Quest was provided for free if you picked up Wind Waker and Link's Awakening was actually the first game to feature a boss rush and even included a retake on LttP's Agahnim & Ganon fights. So yeah, they kind of did.
The Master Trials also adds something called Hero's Path Mode, which is a journal of sorts it sounds like that documents "every step players take," with progress marked in green on the map.Hero's Path is an already tracked deal in game. The DLC is simply "unlocking" features you already have for your use. :(
"The route taken will be tracked for the player's last 200 hours of play time, with an included slider to track footsteps on a timeline," Nintendo said. "This even works retroactively, so players that have already put many hours into the game will be able to see where they have traveled. This feature will help in identifying the locations they haven't visited in this vast world, and may help players find those Shrines they haven't encountered yet."
Boss rush=/=Monster Grinder and Wind Waker was for Gamecube. The N64 and game boy(color) Zeldas didn't have those either. They can hardly be called "standards".I'm not sure what you're implying? But BotW rolls around and it's paywalled DLC, of course people are going to complain. And I know you want to irrationally defend them, but your defense against not being bothered by it is pretty unZelda-fan like.Again, people were screaming for Nintendo to go mainstream and "stop living in the past" and whatnot. So Nintendo took a look around and realized DLCs sell like hot cakes in PC and Sony/Microsoft's disguised PCs and thus simply went "Well, consumers clearly love to pay multiple times to get full access to their games, so let's give them what they want."
But hey, you're the one babbling about the gamecube coming before the n64 and that re-fighting bosses one by one is totally the same as grinding hordes of enemies. :ehDafuq? I assuming you mean OoT's Master quest was a Gamecube release with your point it is came late rehashed to mean something really stupid. My point was OoT didn't have a common staple of the series, so Nintendo provided it for free and even underlined it and threw that word around a few times and you either still missed the point (congrats you're illiterate) or deliberately ignoring it (thus proving irrational fanboi). Given that you flip to a generic comment, "oh you wished for Nintendo to update!" to try and push things further. I'm pretty sure it's the latter.
On SCII, I burrowed the game for a month and won exclusively by ringing just about every single opponent out on the story path.
Starcraft 2, not Soul Calibur 2. You guys already seem to be having totally different conversations, I figure I should point that out before you guys start talking past each other yet again.Ahh, we were on Zelda & Gamecube and guess who makes an appearance in that game.

I feel like playing LA again too. It's such a great game. LoZ/LoZ2 were standard Nintendo-hard, lots of enemies with poor control. LttP was the revamp to the series that many people take for granted. It focused less on quantity of combat, such as Master Quest of LoZ giving you room after room after room of enemies to clear, and gave us the puzzle style of play. It is the foundation of the Zelda iconic of a boss weakness to the new item obtained but also of map traversing items should serve a purpose in combat too. LA was a refinement of LttP and was expanded on to create the Oracles while LttP would serve as copypasta for LbW. OoT may have the public eye as #1, but it got there after LttP/LA defined the franchise's concepts beyond the top down view exploration LoZ introduced.
All in all, i think much of the fanfare surrounding OoT is that it has the distinction of being "first" in several aspects, while also being really good at all of those things it was first at. It was revolutionary and set a new, much higher bar, for anything that came after it. That is why it is such an amazing game for all of us, none of us had played anything quite like it when it was released. It was an achievement, a masterpiece. And it gave us all of that in a very pretty real 3D shell.
so, this is something I just recently found out http://www.falloutcascadia.com/ (http://www.falloutcascadia.com/)
Fallout Cascadia aims to bring the Fallout experience to the Pacific Northwest and let you explore the massive ruins of Seattle, meet the NCR once again, stumble across new enemies and factions - all through the eyes of our new protagonist - see you in Seattle!
Looks interesting....I'll be keeping an eye on it
I'm making myself go through my Steam library and actually play all of the games that I own, and apparently I hate FF7. I don't like the pacing, I don't like the Materia system, I don't like the dialog, I don't like the characters. I even don't like how you catch Chocobos, FF Tactics did better for that one. I can't think of a single thing of the game that I did like after 11 or so hours playing...Man, I'm normally the cynical/depressed/hater for this forum but I'm pretty sure I just lost my title on that one. :P

Well, time to load up FF8 then which comes with twice the teen angst as you play a mercenary out to save the world without knowing who the actual bad guy is. At least now through you'll quickly forget magic is meant to be used in battle as you start using GFs for bathroom breaks and realize playing through the game using Phoenix Downs clears over 95% of the game's content.
Sorry, I love FF8 even with all the emo angst. :PIt's story, to me, was a little better. The game is probably one of the most easily broken ones out there which actually made it kind of interesting, that and Triple Triad was pretty addictive. You can download it as a mobile game, couple people offer it.

Remember about when Nintendo said their subscription wold grant you one free game per month? Now they're changing it to Switch subscription granting you full access to a library of NES game with online play while the subscription lasts. (https://twitter.com/jasonschreier/status/870458277724860421) Also one year subscription will only be 20 bucks. And they're keeping normal MP free until 2018.
I don't know... PS Plus gets you several free games a month and some of them are really good, too. I got Tales From The Borderlands full edition for PS4 recently. It's a bit more expensive, yes, but you also get some very nice perks.fyi Tales From The Borderlands was offered for 80% off on Steam last year.
RWBY board game kickstarter (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/roosterteeth/rwby-combat-ready)You know, I can't help but think that maybe they should fix their video game first, or idk, stop repeating the episodes they already made and actually work on the next season instead of charging us $45 bucks for an overly complex board game that thinks it's a TCG.
Speaking of Steam, I have two guest passes for Killing Floor that are just taking up space in my inventory.I'd take one off your hands but it turns out I already have the game.
Does anyone want them? They have no expiration date.
Is anyone else playing Stellaris?I suck at it. By the time I unlock gene therapy I start having issues with my populations because I can never afford to make them uber-aliens all at once.
Goddamn this game is addictive.

I would glady play the PC version again-if it didn't keep crashing on my computer every time there's an update. :shakefistI'm guessing you don't use Tweaker, do you?
No word on language. Chances are japanese only, but I can dream. Even if it's japanese only, i'll get it.
But then the game started crashing after updates again.Easy fix, when running hacks and custom patches don't update the game until the hacks & patches support it.

I poked at one that seems dead since 2016 and it looks like emulation is simply save files and standard multiplayer match making which if you're solo'ing isn't something you really need to worry about anyway.
SorO, he's already using what is essentially the best way to play the game translated. You could also try using an onscreen translator instead of trying to hack the game's files.
Here is the first hit off Sourceforge (https://sourceforge.net/projects/screen-translator/).
Osle, what have you tried using with Tweaker to solve these issues? Does the game simply crash for you, or is there something else?

I used the tweaker's "search for missing files" and "troubleshooting" and "search for errors" functions. The most common problem was not exactly crashing (although it happened sometimes) but rather the game simply failing to start.
They had Sim Ant?Yeah! That's a blast from the past! I used to play the hell out of that game... in 1992! :lmao

Yeah, EA's gonna destroy DICE for sure now. Expect the company's next game to go much like ME:A did, and then EA goes on a feeding frenzy to salvage what they can and write off the rest.

When it comes out be ready to read pages worth of megaman stuff in this thread?
Bayonetta and Bayonetta 2 coming to Switch in February 2018 plus Bayonetta 3 in development as a exclusive for it too! (https://screenrant.com/bayonetta-3-nintendo-switch-exclusive/) Great to see Nintendo working on the IP.DAMN IT NINTENDO I ALREADY BOUGHT A WIIU JUST FOR BAYONETTA 2, YOU GONNA MAKE ME BUY A SWITCH TOO?!
Nintendo Not Interested in Virtual RealityOrly?
He says Nintendo currently "studies" VR + will add VR to Switch once they figure out how users can play for hours without problems.
NOW GET BACK TO RECOMMENDING ME A GAME :shakefistI heard Nintendo was coming out with a new game. Labo or something, it's like Lego Mindstor meets origami except it doubles as some kind of virtual reality game too. :D

Even Relic has no more fucks left to give Dawn of War 3 after less than a year after launch. No more factions, no other game modes, no more units, nothing.
This pressages really badly for Age of Empires 4 too.
I'm tempted to start a new game of Skyrim...

I'm thinking about getting an old xbox just so I can play one of my favorite games that I've been unable to find a decent emulator and rom for. Mercenaries playground of destruction

You don't want to play the ps2 version? Cause that emulator is pretty good.
Non-emulator related, I'd also feel you'd get more out of a ps2 than an original xbox if you really had to pick up an old system like those. It's also on PSN if you wanted a current gen PS at the least *shrugs*

If i'm doing it via emulator I'll take what I can get (link please), and after looking at the US PSN, it isn't on there only the second one is.
EDIT: I found my old xbox, and copy of the game, so never mind on buying stuff
a decision has been made https://www.cinemablend.com/games/2317502/the-esrb-has-made-a-decision-on-loot-boxes
"Starting soon ESRB will begin assigning a brand-new label to physical games: In-Game Purchases. This label, or as we call it interactive element, will appear on boxes (and wherever those games can be downloaded) for all games that offer the ability to purchase digital goods or premiums with real world currency."
weak....
Still great to see so many indies flocking to the Switch. Lots of great games out there, not nearly enough time to play them in the PC.
Gotta love her origin story too.(click to show/hide)
As one of the commenters points out, Nintendo isn't bringing back the Virtual Console™. They are bringing back classic games with online multiplayer. So they need a new brand name, one that attaches it's self to the Switch so when they release their next console they can try to make you rebuy every goddamn game again along with Hyrule Warriors: The ICan'TBelieveYouAreStupidEnoughToKeepBuyingThisThing Edition.
Plus let's be honest, not that many people bought the Wii U, and the 3DS version was virtually unplayable unless you got the fancy new 3DS, so another chance to play HyruleI don't think I've managed to crash HW on my 3DSXL yet and I haven't really experienced too many drops in frame rate either. Do you suspend the game or actually shut the handheld down?WaifusWarriors is pretty good.
If you already have it good for you, but it's also great for people who didn't get it before because of hardware reasons to have a new shot at it.Like Dragon Ball, I wish they would just let that game DIE.
If you already have it good for you, but it's also great for people who didn't get it before because of hardware reasons to have a new shot at it.Having read Reddit's feed on this for years as well as reading GameFAQs I'd like to say the game runs better on the N3DS then it does on the WiiU. It's just the 3DS version doesn't look as nice or keep as many characters loaded on screen (hence the fairy nuke).
I'd probably buy switch Hyrule warriors just cause my wiiu one was entirely shafted by all the worthwhile dlc going into the 3ds one and as much as that pissed me off I'd like to play the full game with all the stuff I wasn't allowed to have. You have already have all the 3DS's DLC/Patches, they were just incorporated into Story Mode's advancement on the 3DS rather than immediate unlocks like the WiiU.

Yeah yeah, Goku's hair needs to run out of ink eventually. Android 21 best Dragon Ball waifu. :p
Hahaha, nice try. RE4 trumps even Skyrim!

Grinding Gear Games is still an independently-run company in New Zealand. All of its developers still work for Grinding Gear Games and have not become Tencent employees. The founders (Chris, Jonathan and Erik) are still running the company, just like we have been for the last 11 years. Going forward, we will have financial reporting obligations to Tencent but this will have minimal impact on our philosophy and operations.

As far as my thoughts on the company, a lot of companies create different brands to appeal to people and maybe half the time those brands were acquired. Like Ford owns Chrysler which makes Dodge owners Ford lovers depending on your viewpoint.
I go to Reddit for procurement advice, things like "Which WiFi analyzer app for android is the best" and "Is so-and-so better than so-and-so". Not to read people's opinions on events. It's probably for the best, I feel like I have to actively avoid scrolling down on r/news.
Yes yes, you have a signature that I block out because it enrages me. Surprise surprise.I wouldn't be surprised, you seem to be my polar opposite, but chillax a little.

Laptop was the gun with sentry mode, throw it on the ceiling next to a shield and it'll try to kill slow people for you. The Farsight was the X-ray gun that prevented people from hiding around doors.Maybe we're not so different after all! :pIt all depends on your views about the Laptop Gun & the Farsight :plot
I haven't played in forever, I pretty much only remember the crossbow.
I definitely remember the turret gun, I'm the asshole who loves the turret gun!
I remember the farsight too. The only time farsight was allowed in my pvp matches was farsights only IIRC. It was an argument starter because you could kill someone from the other side of the level.

My favorite was the proximity pinball grenades.

Because it's easier to adopt the mod after the fact and cash in on the fact these guys just developed new content for you for free?
The REAL question is, why doesn't Squenix simply adopt fanmade remakes and port them over instead of making those horrible, horrible mobile ports...

An odd choice https://www.gamespot.com/articles/new-xbox-one-backwards-compatibility-game-now-avai/1100-6459892/...I wonder if this is an indirect confirmation of a remaster version of MW2.....I remember making new friends on MW2, but I have more fond memories of MW3 due to screen shots and video captures.
$3,195.89
I think I have you beat ...
I would like to clarify that the almost $3200 I spent was over a span of 13 years, for a total of 709 games.
Rather than logging my steam account into a third party site I simply pulled my purchase history from Steam and I've spent $232.47. Through I should probably check Humblebundle for a more complete figure.
My most expensive purchase, the only thing not on sale when I picked it up, as WH40k Dawn of War with all of the DLC which clocked in at $38 bucks. Skyrim, and all of it's DLC, only ran me $26 so that seems super expensive.
Did oyu even read the article? lol Cuz if you had clicked on it.I skimmed it. The whole "If you’re wondering how much you’ve spent, you can do so easily. Just click this link to the Steam account spend tool, log into your Steam account, and then check the “Total Spend” row." kind of sounded like a 3rd party hook which requires mousing over a url to and checking it to even see what it is. Alternatively, you can just open your purchase history like normal. :eh
In other news looks like Nintendo has stepped up their antipriacy game https://www.pcmag.com/news/361999/nintendo-can-perfectly-detect-and-ban-pirate-switch-gamesWhich is still bypassed by root access. :)
Speaking of Steam and the summer season.Eh, I dunno why people get so worked up about how it drains your wallet. I bought like $30 worth of games (post-discount) and only REALLY paid like $10. :P(https://i.imgur.com/oS0fXN0.jpg)
Bioshock feels pretty railroady to me. I liked Mass Effect a lot more in terms of roleplaying/decision making.Railroading was even a plot point in the first game.
which has more role play attached to it the Mass effect series or Bioshock infinite? or is there another western rpg on sale (under 8 dollars) on steam?
I'm mainly looking for a RPG with good character creation and 1st person view that's with in my budget of 8 dollars lol the reason why I listed bioshock was due to the settingMaybe System Shock 2 then?

Let's see, Steam sale RPG games with character creation that I own and enjoyed with an $8 budget:
- Divine Divinity is $0.59, good old school game. Play a fighter or a mage. The rogue is gimped and everyone has the same skill trees so just don't play a rogue for any reason unless you want to screw yourself over.
- Deus Ex (the original) doesn't have character creation but it a fun RPG for less than a buck.
- The first two Witcher games are also super cheap but they aren't for everyone (and again no character creation).
- All the Fallout games except the newest one are under your budget.
- Mad Max doesn't have character creation but I enjoyed the hell out of that game so I'm just throwing it in because man it was fun.
- I enjoyed all the Shadowrun games by Harebrained Studios and they're all less than $8.
- Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines was fun. I have no idea how well it stuck to the pen-and-paper game (and it has some bugs, fan patches help) but it's $5.
http://nichegamer.com/2018/07/07/todd-howard-stop-buying-skyrim-if-you-want-the-re-releases-to-stop/Sounds like pretty much Hyrule Warriors in a nutshell. It's a game that has like thirty twenty minute play sessions copypasted to ten thousand and it is on it's third rerelease with fans bragging about 100%ing each one.

I will be the small round alien wearing all blue.
I always resisted playing with a controller, because i played FPS's from a very young age, and i've always played them with a keyboard and mouse, and i'll be damned if there's any better configuration for play. Mouse gives you an unbelievable reaction time transfer from what you're seeing to your movements, and controller cannot replicate that.
I felt the controller clunky and underequipped for the task of playing a first person shooter. Perhaps tweaking a bit with sensitivity might help some situations, but i feel it also would make aiming a pain in others. You simply cannot have as fine a control with a controller that you can with a computer.
Furthermore, i felt as if the use of both hands for controlling aiming and firing is clunky. Use your left hand for aiming down sights, your right hand for shooting, but also use your left hand for walking and your right hand for moving the reticle. It's a brain scramble if i've ever seen one.
I guess one could accustom, but i still think keyboard and mouse are vastly superior, and the only option if the aim is competitive play.

There's only a couple of FPS that I don't use a controller for : Counter-strike source and half-life 2, I grew up only playing HL on the computer same with CS,all my other FPS experience has been on the console and even on those two, I don't use the standard aswd set up but instead use the arrow keys so that my hands are close to each other.
It does however take me some time to get "in the zone" while playing online..I'm going to reup my xbox live sub next month now that Modern Warfare 2 is backwards compatible.

So old school! How do you handle fast equip switch? grenade throws on mouse buttons? I must know, all the bindings must be completely different, otherwise how you fast crawl into a walk and a strafe quick peek with an AWP?
So in the most recent Nintendo Direct revealed the super crown item that allowed Toadette to turn into Peachette, aka mushroom Peach.fify and fyi Ayyk92 created the original. Then a guy named VideoCoin changed her hair to red and then some annon on 4chan respun her as being dark skinned which is the version Tumblr ran with (of course). Japan's Mangakie (sp, w/e they named their manga artists) have gotten on it too and let's just say. Then one artist wondered what would happen if Bowser took that crown

Are you fully caught up on the lore for KH3 and/or DMC 5? If yes, those are good to go with. If not, watch vids on youtube (I recommend Barry's KH3 primer or SBF LPs of the DMC games).
Barry's "A Good Enough Summary of Kingdom Hearts" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tjiHufVEc7g)
I'm sure, even if you can't really follow it, you will at the very least be entertained.
Too many good games have come out all at once.
Which do I conquer first? Kingdom Hearts 3, DMC5, or Sekiro Shadows Die Twice?

Wait. Sekiro is out already?!
And yes finally got the Gunbuster so that should be all series covered. Noriko's even more badass than in the anime since she's handling that metal monster solo (Jung already got her Sizzler Black while Kazumi's stickying with Coach). Gunbuster has like two pages of attacks and most mook attacks just harmlessly bounce off her inertia field and even bosses struggle to deal significant damage. And before that Noriko was already playing sempai to the magic knights crew.
Is T new or is this some old version? God if I can try to make sense of what came when by the names. xDThe most recent one, in particular Magic Knight Rayearth finally making their debut in a SRW game which surprised a lot of people since the two previous games had been more on the fantasy side with Aura Battlers and Cross Ange, with the latter being dropped this time.
Well it can vary a lot and is relative to the other series. Like I think the two previous times Gunbuster showed up are SRW Alpha 3 where she only shows up on stage 37 with 6 attacks (can unlock her kick as 7th) and is competing with the likes of Ideon and Banpreios, then Z 3 where she shows up in stage 35 and is competing with the likes of 2nd season TTGL.QuoteAnd yes finally got the Gunbuster so that should be all series covered. I think Gunbuster is one of those things that gets the distinction of always being really strong whenever it shows up?
Though it's funny when Noriko gets to be someone's superior, since she's a Getter fangirl (she even has a poster in the anime).
Did anime Gunbuster had a cape? Because it has now although Noriko only pulls it out to block attacks, counting as a shield.
What I'm pretty sure is that Gunbuster didn't have a range 8 baseball bat, but hey it's a range 8 attack so go Noriko!

Yes, and that is exactly what it's used for in the battle sequence. The cape comes out of those shoulders and gets used to deflect lasers.QuoteWhat I'm pretty sure is that Gunbuster didn't have a range 8 baseball bat, but hey it's a range 8 attack so go Noriko!
Something they planned to include but didn't fit in the storyboard. Yeah, all the weird SRW Gunbuster attacks were planned by Gainax.
