Hey, yeah.

It's quite fabulous.  We discussed it around here, when it first came out.
http://minmaxforum.com/index.php?topic=17797.0
Link on the first post  (I've no idea if that wiki got it word-for-word).
It's better than wish, 'cause you can cast (!) another 9 and learn more 9s on your own.
Whole multi-year series of Unearthed Arcana.

Crafting?
Most people seem quite unhappy with how stupid proof + simple it is.
3.5e had a make anything interpretation of the Artificer
and the MIC had an almost wishlist option (nigh universally ignored).
4e followed this lead with wishlist and 1 ritual crafting = near automatic.
So as unrewarding as 5e crafting is fluffed not at all ... it does work.
And you'll still be grumpy about it.

hey y'all ... (ping)

Somebody either smart or random took a look at the census data around the time of the US Civil War, and discovered probably an extra 125k people died from that war.  The approach was amature but accurate.  Then it got vettted by the grumpiest bunch of old people.  It worked.  The argument won.

Hurricane Maria hit Puerto Rico and officially almost no one died.  Which was known b.s. from the start.  NYTimes did a quick study and got roughly 1000 dead.  I forget did a study and got 3000.  And a PSU demographer did a peer reviewed paper, getting a number around 4000.  Real good stuff (except the dead part).

The death toll of Covid-19 isn't being represented by the official stats all that well.  When the locals get overwhelmed, they just lose count.  I found this writeup of Italian and Spanish sources ; neither of which I could otherwise read, write or verify. ( The site itself is left-of-center ... but I already led with arch-conservatives.)   So :
https://www.dailykos.com/stories/2020/4/2/1933602/-It-s-worse-than-you-think
Physicist do not make good Demographers, and vice versa.  Still it's a start and very much less wrong.

I don't expect good numbers for 3+ years.
Be safe everybody.  Viva le C.O.!!

Huh.  Life does go on, doesn't it?

Be safe everybody.

My primary internet is being shut down for 3 weeks.
My secondary internet is zeroing local and distance access.
Granpa heard from a colleague in SKorea.  Their universities are going strictly on-line, but don't have enough bandwidth for all the students.  Presumably this is or will be happening everywhere.
(and so I'm a small potatoes casualty)
My tertiary internet is defacto read-only.

My brother works for a FEMA subcontractor, and they're going totally remote.  That's FEMA shutting itself down.
(I do realize this is the most possible music-to-their-ears for certain political types)

So long fare well I need a sane good by-ye
Adieu adieu to you and you (but not you-ou)
My kitty avatar says good bye to you
My kitty avatar's Tail says good bye too.

Kuroimaken good stuff.
#1 is spot on.
#2 is ... well ... is Trump coordinating with anyone other than his Golf Courses?
I'm sure the news has made the rounds, that the diplomat next to Trump in the brown "Make Brazil Great Again" hat, tested positive.  And Bolsanaro.

This guy has a batch of graphics just like this one on his Twitter.  USA is 11 days behind Italy.  Brazil is 20.  That's bad, really bad.  Like heartsick bad.

Yeah it really is sad.

South Korea and British Columbia started making their own test kits back in late January.
Fast forward to the genetic sequencing of Covid-19 virus SARS-CoV-2, and it turns out to have been circulating in Washington state a full 6 weeks ago.

B.C. and Wash are right next door ... there's a small part of Washington that you can't get to without drive through B.C.
What the duh ... couldn't a halfling burglar filch a test at a watering hole, on the way back to the ~shire ?!

We all had a shot, but the ramp up in test kits just wasn't there.
As in Italy, get ready to hunker down.

Since they don't have enough test kits, people with some (!) symptoms are NOT tested.

« on: March 10, 2020, 06:11:18 PM »
Fey'ri are LA +2.
Normally that would be gone via LA buy-off by level 24.

The Lich racial progression is LA +4, which combines with the fey're la = complicated.

Altogether you're talking about roughly a level 30 PC.
Armor barely matters up there, and lich has goodies anyway.
Rapier or Whip xor Neither = none.

"Truely savage, hence her chaotic neutral nature."
CN are or can be some of the nicest people ever, and if you've ever been clocked upside the head by a Modron ...
I detect a Ring Of Contrariness.

« on: March 07, 2020, 03:08:32 PM »
??

Deity stats + Paragon boosts + ever more = no real need for any help.

Heck, you could play a Magewright or a Lurk, and still easily destroy things.
Or with all that powah, import in a 5e Artificer and have fun.

2 chances to land Sneak is better than 1 chance.

Booming Blade cantrip can tide you over, until you reach Fighter 5.
+2 Dex before F 5 , the -5/+10 feat after F 5.
Fighter 6 + Rogue 4 are next ... probably go Sorc +X from there.
Fighter 11 Rogue 9 is a bog standard dpr build, but you won't quite get there, which changes the overall direction.

32

... nuts ... fun ... fun ... style ...

... 'til the Barbarian takes the DPR away?

You've got armor overlap on Rogue  1 + Sorc 1 + Fighter 1.
Do you want to go TWF for melee or just not enter melee?
Would you (and/or the DM) be willing to rebuild to any of Arcane Trickster or Eldritch Knight or Magical Training?

Hades, could you post enough of the rules text on that, i.e. for reference?

Any use for Yathrinshee 1 for another CL doubling, on top of this TN+?

Sorc 1 first for Con prof.
Giant Wolf-Spider at cr 1/4 like most of the mounts, should be fine ... Sidekicks are CR 1 instead of 1/4 and with added levels.
Int gets the 7+2 , Wis or Con either gets 12 or 16.
Guide yeah yeah they've got it figured out, except for the Breaking BM below.
But choosing Mounted Combat or Dual Wielding or both or +2 Cha, and when idk? Probably don't need War Caster, +2 Str later

attack x2 = yes , heck throw in the 2nd lance with it , doesn't make historic sense (but my kitty avatar isn't your fantasy no?)

5' is up to the mount, or drop+draw, or just wield the sword (or lighter) anyway
Here's the post, scroll to sir lancelot --> https://forums.giantitp.com/showthread.php?376418-Breaking-BM
The equivalent of a lanyard doesn't exist officially but is quite obvious.
Call it one of those el cheapo 100gp magic items, considering the balancing it part, still have to draw the weapon after dropping it, or some such ...

Draco wastes level 1 on no dex + Pal armor, damage is still not the best choice.
Divine Soul opens meta + cleric list goodies without really stepping on a real Cleric's toes and they can swap out anyway. Certainly worth a pre-chat to avoid feelings etc.

baby yoda says :  Death by gnome?  How embarrassing, how embarrassing ?!

Niiice.

Some of the Greyhawk books qualify as 1st party,
but idk how RPGA stuff fits in ... haven't come across it before.

Wizard 5 / UrPriest 2? / TN+ +X / Wiz Prc to finish
** nope needs death domain access

Conq + a war wiz dip to take advantage of the gnome int boost
16 -- 10 -- 16 -- 12+2 -- 7 -- 18
dip War Wizard 2 (and maybe 3, maybe more)

UA Sidekick is the better Ranger Beast, and certainly too for a Mount ; if that's available.

Lance can be used 1 handed while mounted,
so Easy Lee came up with dual wielding 2 Lances
just need the feat(s?) idk haven't checked that out in quite a while

the Wis 7 works OK with Prof + Adv + Pally 6, but you might prefer adding a +1 feat to it.

**

Otherwise Sorc 1 / Pal 6 / Sorc +X ... is such a damage monster
that it'll handle whatever quirks you wanna mix in.
And has by far the most interwebs work handbook action.

Greater Bestow Curse to remove the easydead oops ability.
