As you leave Quilly and Rilly behind, the city buzzes with the now-yesterday's news of the large explosion and the stolen documents. As you pass by a tabloid stand, you see an issue of "The Daily Delibird" The cover is done in what must be a compilation of photographs put together hastily. The feature article seems to be "The True Face of the Shinra Swiper!?"

The presence of the question mark sends mixed messages.

As the two of you pass by it, you recall that the path north is fraught with forest and thick underbrush. Perhaps provisions would be in order.

Period: Oh, Beatrice. Do you think we should buy some stuff before we head off? I could use some more pokeballs and potions, and anyway, it feels like the meta wants us to.

you hear a light tingle as a nearby door opens. You see the shop you entered earlier. She had some pretty nice rice and statuettes, maybe she'll have some useful stuff for you this time!

The old woman looks up and smiles. "Welcome back young ones." She seems to be holding a whittling knife in her hand and the beginning of a statuette.

"oh, ho, ho, ho. No, I don't have anything quite like a pokeflute, unless you just want a flute with the design of a pokemon. I have some snacks though, if you would like to purchase some." She indicates a shelf of snacks, both human and pokemon.

She addresses Beatrice: "Ah yes, I see you have a good eye." she strokes the in-progress pokemon carving lovingly.

She gestures at the human snacks.

I smile at the old woman. "It really is marvelous." That said, I turn to look at the Pokémon snacks with a discerning eye. A small scratching under my beret made it clear that snacks are a good thing.

I nod. "That should definitely be enough, so long as we don't stuff ourselves. You aren't going to sneak extra food behind my back, right, Period?" I poke the air in the direction of her stomach.

With a little giggle, I then hold up a bag of Xtra Spicy Ghost-Type Pepper Pokéchow. "How much is this?"

she simply repeats "Five yencoins a bag" as she completes period's transaction. her old hands fumble with a pen as she writes up a receipt for period. she confidently tears the receipt from the receipt book and holds out a plastic bag for period. The bag has the face of a pokemon you haven't seen before. the pokemon looks happy.

She puts the bag into her bag.

Period: And don't worry Beatrice, I won't eat all the snacks! It's one snack a day for each of us! With extras in case of emergencies.

I hand over ¥¢100 and pick out several interesting flavors. I wink at Period. "Okay, just making sure~"
