Prologue: Shadows in the Dark

[DonQuixote]

I push at the rocks to see if I can make any headway.  I almost assuredly cannot.

"Oh dear...how did this just happen?  Nobody ever said anything about this cave being unstable..."

[FelyxZephyr]

Beatrice recalls that there was a rather powerful earthquake just a moment ago.  That may be why a normally stable cave would cave in like this.


Period hovers over her fainted pokemon and

you hear the faint sound of buzzing, like beedrill all around you.  Everything is really really fuzzy and it feels like you have to close your eyes to focus.  But you feel like Felix is okay.  His body seems to be stable, ,but he will need medicine or a long rest.  You feel something nagging at the back of your mind.  You just...  scratch that wall a little bit-

You open your eyes, are those your eyes? and you see...  A person.  A weird person It's a place you don't know.

Your head kinda feels weird, but you hear far off voices. "Not here."  one says

"...next...."

The buzzing stops and you can only hear the faint traces of your Unown's conscious thoughts.  It seems to be medically stable.

[Hanako Tachibana]

Period rubs her head confusedly.

Period: What...  Well, Felix seems to be stable, so lets keep going.

She once again re-balls Felix and starts heading in the remaining direction.

Period: Lets go, Beatrice!

[DonQuixote]

"Oh, uh, yes!"  I scramble after her.

[FelyxZephyr]

You make it to the second red light without incident.  there is a staircase that has been hewn through the rock of the floor that leads down.

[DonQuixote]

I look at the staircase nervously.  "I'm...not sure we want to go in further...do we?"

[Hanako Tachibana]

Period: Hmm?  It isn't like there is anywhere else to go, right?

With that said, Period begins to head down the staircase.

[DonQuixote]

Nervously, I follow Period.

[FelyxZephyr]

You descend the staircase and are greeted by a new light on this floor.  There is another light a short distance away.   

You both hear a masculine, very tired voice call out.  " 'S someone else down here?" 

[Hanako Tachibana]

Period: Hello!  I'm Period, and my friend here is Beatrice!
Period: The entrance up there is closed off, so we thought we'd try down here.
Period: You wouldn't happen to have a healing potion on you, would you?

[DonQuixote]

I hop nervously from foot to foot.

[FelyxZephyr]

the man grunts and says "Yeah, I should have one.  If you can help me a bit, I'll give you one for your effort."

[Hanako Tachibana]

Period: Oh, of course!  What can we do for you?

[FelyxZephyr]

He sounds a little frustrated.  "Well, if you could come over here, it would become immediately obvious."

He checks himself.  "I'm a bit stuck after that earthquake and could use some help getting out."

[Hanako Tachibana]

Period: Oh, well why didn't you say so?  Come on, Xavier, lets help the man out.

Period and Xavier (with his telekinesis) attempt to free the frustrated man from whatever rubble he is trapped under.

[DonQuixote]

I wring my hands nervously.  "Um...I can help?  Maybe?"  I hesitantly walk over and do my best effort to help free the stranger, ready to bolt if necessary.

[FelyxZephyr]

As you approach the light in the distance, you see that 'a bit stuck' was a euphamism.  It seems as if a large chunk of ceiling fell, then rolled to rest against his left arm, pinning him to the wall.  You also see two pokeballs on the ground, as well as a weird black dog pokemon and a weird black pokemon with pink feathery ears and terrifyingly long claws trying to push the rock out of the way.

It seems as though it might take a little bit of work to move the rock, but thankfully, things aren't as bad as they could have been.

His pack is on the ground a few feet from him, as is his pokedex.

[FelyxZephyr]

With the help of the two pokemon, Period, Beatrice, and Xavier, the stone slowly shifts away and the man slides out as soon as he can.

He gently massages his shoulder and checks his range of movement.  After realizing that he's not going to be using his off arm for anything strenuous, he turns to the two of you.

"Hey, thanks, I was really in a bind there.  Caught between a rock and a hard place, even."  He doesn't laugh at his own terrible joke.

"You, one of you wanted a potion?"  He starts walking towards his pack, picking up one pokeball and clipping it to his belt.  The dog picks the other one up.  The weird black claw pokemon heels.

Period: Oh, yes!  Felix fainted, so I could really use one.
Period: Beatrice was going to take me to the pokemon center, but the way was blocked.

[DonQuixote]

I tear my eyes away from the black claw Pokémon.  "Oh, er, yes.  I came from Edin, but then...the earthquake..."
