ARK video card help
« on: September 18, 2016, 02:57:41 AM »
Anyone try ARK?

I found out my computer didn't have a separate video card, so was unable to play.

I bought a Ndivia 730 cuz it was inexpensive and good reviews. It arrives Monday.

Obviously, it's a cheaper video card and I don't expect amazing graphics, I just want to play. But the guys trying to help on Steam were like tearing me apart for buying this card.

Was this the wrong choice? I'm not spending a bunch on a card, I just don't have the $.

Any recommendations, like try to return it to Amazon for a better inexpensive one? Or just ignore them?

P.S. I don't know much about computer specs and performance stuff

a couple google minutes says its iffy, but you may be fine.

as for recommendations, i would take toms hardware gpu hierarchy and start googling from the top down till you hit your price range...

my boys card that runs about everything (so far) is a radeon hd 7870. i expect him to get another year out of it... at least.

Ended up getting a 750ti, and works well. Obviously, the graphics aren't what youtubers have, but I didn't expect it.

This game is lots of fun. I haven't got up the nerve to join a public server, only been playing single.
