Did he mention how pre-game acquistions, if any, would be handled?

And, if we are going with 2 Navigators on board ... here is what I was thinking at first.

House Casini Magistral navigator. Navis Scion alternate Rank.
WS : 30 BS : 25. S : 20 T : 30 Ag 40. Int : 40 Per : 40 Wp : 50 Fel : 45.
Homeworld : Battlefleet.
Birthright : Vaunted.
Lure of the Void : Duty Bound, Duty to your Dynasty.
Trials &Travails: High Vendetta (Paranoia, Inquiry)
Motivation : Prestige ( Talented : Navigation Warp)

Skills : Barter, Commerce, Common Lore (Navis nobilite), Forbidden Lore (Navigators, Warp), Inquiry, Litteracy, Navigation (Stellar, Warp), Pilot (Space Craft), Psyniscience, Scholastic Lore (Astromancy), Speak Language (High & Low Gothic, Ship Dialect).
Talents Decadence, Paranoia,Pistol Universal Training, Hard Bargain (500 xp).
Ennemy (Chorda Dynasty), Rival (Chorda Dynasty),  Good Reputation (House Visscher, Winterscale Dynasty).
Powers The Lidless Stare, Tracks In the Stars, Void Watcher.
Starting Gear : best craftsmanship hellpistol, best craftsmanship metal staff , best craftsmanship xeno-mesh armour, silk headscarf, Emperor's Tarot deck, micro-bead, robes.

With this guy, I bring a spare Navigator, someone who can deal as well in courtrooms, track ships in space and use his Gaze to survey around the ship. He can help the RT to get more money (+1 profit factor each time we earn some thanks to Hard bargain) and it can go on later.
So... If I go with the Navigator, you'll have a persuasive freak on board as well  :D

Probably a good idea. My guy is specialised in a very different way than yours, so I think we both have our own niche.

Did he mention how pre-game acquistions, if any, would be handled?

No pre-game acquisition, just starting gear and the automatic acqusition.

EDIT: Regarding the Ship&Warrant Path, you guys want to use something similar to the generation method suggested in the book (it's captain makes a choice, then it continues clockwise around the table with each player making a choice until the whole path is done, here I'm thinking captain and then everyone in order of declaring their interest to join) or you want to delegate a person to make all the choices?

PS: Ship&Warrant path is also free choice(not restricted to going one left/right on the table).

So...My character is really blind, eh? What are the implications? Is there any equipment that would help?

Let's choose altogether what kind of ship we want, see the budget needed, and then we'll have one of us who will choose which path to take.

Well, an Astropath is blind but can still sort of see what is around him, thanks to seeing through  the Warp a reflect of what surround him. Some things can not be seen this way though, like Blanks and Untouchables (soulless people, that are a bane for psykers... Very very rare).
Perhaps, cyber senses to improve your smell or your hearing ? or a good old auspex ?

How difficult is it to get a new (bigger) ship after we start play?  All the Profit Factor in the world won't do us a whole lot of good if we can't ever upgrade from a frigate.
I'm not arguing, I'm explaining why I'm right.

Well. you can't really buy a new ship, and if you do, it is usually smaller ones, or transports. You have to capture or salvage one. It is easier to capture new ships when you get the firepower of a big one already.

And getting the biggest ships that RT has rules for likely means dealing with the Imperial Navy... >_>;

Next to impossible unless you capture it. In order to get a new ship you make an acquisition test after you deduce the ship's value in SP from your PF. So In order to even have a theoretical chance at a Battlecruiser for example (cheapest is Armageddon/Chalice at 63 SP) you'd need 64 PF. To have a 50% chance to get it, you'd need 113 PF. To automatically get it, you'd need 163 PF.

Big ships in this game are gained at start or captured IMO.

Not necessarily. If you try to buy one, well, yes. If we get it from the start, one of the option that will be usefull to get a big one is, surprise, to be in good terms with the Navy.
To capture one... yes, bad idea to try to steal the Navy, and other sources are dubious at best : do we really want to claim as our ship a a cruiser owned by the Nurgle-whorshipping pirates we just destroyed, for instance ?  :P
Salvaging a wrecked one is far safer, though we'll have to deal with the Navy to get a good ol' Writ of Claim in due form.
Besides, in the Expanse, there are not many Navy ships patrolling there, we won't have much to deal with them. they don't like Rogue Traders much anyway, usually :p

In that case, I vote we start with a big ship.  Seems like it's far more viable to increase your profit factor than get a bigger boat.  Besides, isn't increasing PF kind of one of the major points to the game?

So, I have 150XP left.

Should I put 100XP towards getting improved INT or FEL? Or save it for Ambidexterity later? :lmao

Where does it say if a weapon is 1 or 2 handed?  Are there any benefits to using a 1-handed weapon in 2 hands?  Is there a benefit to keeping a hand free?

It's in the weapon description. There very few weapons (1-2 in Faith&Coin I believe) that confer additional benefits when used in two hands. Keeping a hand free simply means that you can use a shield in it (they're pretty good, especially Storm Shields).

Or an other weapon. Pistol and close combat weapon, or two of one kinds, of course.
i'm currently working on the background of my character. I do think I'll explain how he manage to be so successful as a socialite even though he is a Navis by how smooth his voice his.
You'd rather him to sound like Syndri Mirr or Smaug? (and no, I won't play a bad guy, nor a corrupted one :P)
