Yeah, too bad it doesn't seem to have helped the situation after all. If only my "uncle" hadn't opened his yap...

Must be some way out of this situation without resorting to a physical confrontation...

You did roll a 20 on your UTF to activate Mind Trick, so you would get it back. That is an option for you. You could also go with normal persuasion too. There are probably a couple things within UTF you could do to help too.

McP, You can use the haggle skill use here to try to negotiate the price down. The rest of you in the room may try to help as well in some way (aid another or some other skill).

Well, eye-ridge. Or the top of whatever is over their eye. I don't think it's actually hair, but there's something there to convey questioning.

Not only did I get a nat 20 on that roll, but I managed to work in a subtle Obi-Wan reference there. Smoooooth. :D

Believe me, this isn't easy. I've been agonizing over my wording and what to do. Plus, I work, so I get worried that if I take too long to post, that the round will carry on without me.

No worries on the lateness Shadowhunter. Trust me that was a long weekend suffering from severe Murphy's law.

Just remember Venn you are the subtle one I'm the beatstick. That is why I'm trying to let you handle it, because otherwise it would end up with us fighting station security and more STs.

I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that. It's a bit early yet, but I'm modeling my character after the Jedi Sentinel path, eventually aiming for a Jedi Shadow type of infiltrator/investigator. My next feat will probably be skill training in either deception or stealth, despite how badly I'd like to take more Force Training.

If you work a lot and are considering something before posting just let us know here in this thread. Then I will know to halt what I am going to post. I just kind of wait for a day or so and if I don't see anything I let it rip again.

I like to give my players the tough choices for their characters to make. Those grey areas that light or dark may apply to are really interesting. You're handling it very well too. Using the tools you have to come up with a good decision based on how your character would react.

Helps that you rolled two nat 20s in a row too. Of course in my experience, Karma is a crazed, vindictive bitch. So she will revisit it back on you eventually  :twitch

Yeah. My character is wanting to help with the situation but just doesn't know how. He doesn't have the skills to solve this peacefully and he knows it. He also thinks that fighting our way out is likely to get the parents and possibly kid killed along with them. Though the stun baton the guard is using may come in handy so if we do fight them I'll be getting that as quickly as possible and taking it with me... So I don't leave scale prints at the scene  :lmao

I made sure to buy a stun baton so I didn't have to whip out a lightsaber and give away my identity as a rogue force user. :P

Anyway, at this level it's hard to say for sure what's going to work out the best as far as skills and everything go. As for choice, it can be tough. I try to think about how my character would respond, especially given that Sentinels are known for being sneaky and deceptive, within the bounds of the light side and the Jedi code and all that. I just wish Jedi got like... two more skills, so I could have all the ones I need without using up feats. :D

And it's proven once again why Corran is the gunslinger of the party and not Rald.

I'll post in reply to the fugitive tomorrow. I've got to get to bed and work my shift tomorrow. Once I'm home I'll post Jerran's response. Busy weekend, here.
