Ah, crap. So you too live in a place with no available free psych clinics...

'Murica!

Actually a lot of cities have city run mental health facilities that are for low income people, although I wouldn't know if any are near you.

Every area in America is required to have a community service board but they're not free. They do take Medicaid.

I have an essay-slash-presentation coming up. It's supposed to be done as a group and my group is NOT getting its shit together.

They've been nothing but passive-aggressive little cunts all this time, and it's making me want to dig out their skulls and use them as urinals.

Actually a lot of cities have city run mental health facilities that are for low income people, although I wouldn't know if any are near you.
And they are so full of people the ones that need it can't get in.

Private mental health facilities also charge upwards of three thousand dollars per day or more (3k is just the highest around here), people can involuntarily land a 96 hour hold for evaluation, most of them are actually a danger to the patients trapped within rather than some form of treatment, and to ensure insurance payouts everything is charted in such as way to make it seem like you needed to be there which has lasting repercussions on further treatment.

Also there is no such thing as free. Medicaid which pays part of their bills for them if they are too poor, hospitals with a county contract are also given tax revenue for compensation for various emergency services, and there is even additional state/national funding if they also happen to have no competitors since they become the only source of true emergency healthcare in the area. Every productive member of the USA pays into funding this, some more than others.

This may blow your mind but healthcare isn't free and health insurance isn't insurance.

That is VERY dependent on area.  I've gotten someone in for a next day appointment before.

This rant isn't relevant to the discussion.

I didn't know city-ran facilities grew money on trees but it sounds super cool you found an appointment for someone at a facility where sliding scale based price discrimination isn't about maximizing payments. I'm sure Nytemare's friends will enjoy moving to your area for help because it'll get them away from their grandmother at the very least.

Eh, you complained about my rant and got a sarcastic reply, fair is fair.

And I do kind of mean that last sentence, maybe not near you, but I agree with Nytemare that they need to split up and move to different locations. Grandma is an antagonist that needs some aggressive pillow therapy.

Ugh, of course you behave like a normal person when I say I'm going to ignore you so I don't have an excuse to ignore you anymore.  :P

I do agree that moving out sounds like it would be the best way out of that situation, but it doesn't sound like any of them have the money to do so.

I wouldn't cheer yet.  There are still ways this could go belly up.  For some reason the post has become a circular firing squad lately.  No one trusts each other, everyone hates each other, and people keep trying to get each other fired.  And predictably the overtime is killing my efforts at a job search...

Might come to that anyway.  With the exception of a few hangers on from the old guard company I just realized that at 6 months in I am the oldest employee (the next oldest is 4 months).  Then again it might not cause no one wants to show up.  They call off for various reasons but I'm losing patience with them.  As in "Motherfuckers, I have asthma, arthritis, parkinsons disease, diabetes, mild ptsd and I'm still not recovered from cancer surgery, and I do 48 hour weeks.  Shut the fuck up and get your whiny ass in here, or find another job."

One of them actually said more than 8 hours a day or 16 hours a week was such a physical hardship for him he'd quit if we gave him more hours than that.  He's in better shape than I am.

Well I no longer scan restrooms on my rounds as apparently two of my coworkers are now peepers.  For some reason they aren't being fired, and it's somehow assumed this will change their behavior...

That's a wonderfully spineless management decision.
