Day 185- MAOG- Let the Looting Commence! Also lots of exposition., cause it's about damn time the PCs learned what's going on here.
Also- Awww yeah, eight pages of stuff.
Day 185!
And so it is the morning, and you all remain unsquished by Hryggda, who, from the sounds of it, is waking up in the next cave over.
Escaflowne munches on leftover dinner for breakfast.
Salach makes his rounds tapping everyone on the forehead with his wand of endure elements, burning ten charges this time.
Zelda sticks her heads out of her new favorite blanket for her tap. “So fluffy…”
Salach- “I’ve got another day worth of charges in this thing and then we’re either really cold, or we head back to Alzak Fortress.” He then sets about memorizing his spells for the day.
Harvey casts Mass Showshoes on everyone again. He keeps Fluff small for the moment, since she’s not old enough to be effective in battle.
Katreana studies her spellbooks, giving special consideration to the uses of her newest spells.
Karla meditates for her spells.
Escaflowne moves to eat breakfast at the mouth of the cave they are watching for Dragons or other hangers on.
Speaking of, Dragon himself gets some breakfast.
Caboose grabs a bite of food, drinks some ale, and decides to not be dumb for a little bit.
The prisoners are as follows:
Hebespa, a middle aged human woman from some small human village in the mountains, which the giants have preyed upon on and off for years.
Propicious Tatterly, a thirty-something human man from a town called Pest’s Crossing.
Ned, an elderly man whom these frost giants enslaved years ago, and had grown into uselessness for labor, and thus was headed for the stewpot (but the giants liked him so the were gonna kill him quickly).
Lark, who describes himself as a treasure hunter. He got caught sneaking into the Rift a couple weeks ago.
All four of them are malnourished (and so ate lots of horse last night) and pretty wimpy, although they all look like they could carry some treasure if asked.
Salach- “I have a proposal for you all, no, not you prisoner types, everyone else. Some people”- he glances at Dragon- “spend way too much time running up to the giants. So I propose that we pool some of whatever treasure we find here, and when we get back to Alzak Fortress, we buy a wand of stoneskin. I’d keep it, but it would be for everyone’s use. Especially Dragon’s and Cabooses’.”
Dragon grumbles a little bit, but conspicuously avoids disagreeing.
Karla - “I vote yes, I put together the combo of movement based skills and spell modifications I have just in case I had to get around the battlefield immensely quickly. I wasn’t expecting to actually have to use them all.”
“That sounds like an excellent plan, what with the wife and daughter waiting at home for him to return alive.” Kat says absently, flipping through her spellbook.
“Can we use it for Fluff sometimes?” Harvey asks.
Salach- “Yep, it’ll work on all of us.”
Escaflowne, “I like being harder to kill.”
Caboose grunts “Caboose no need other magik. Caboose smak giants. Caboose need thing for back hurt.” He says, drinks the ale and wipes his mouth.
Escaflowne shakes his head, “we are still hunting monsters, stop trying to get drunk.”
Caboose shrugs to Escaflowne “this be one ale. Caboose can quit when caboose want. I have one ale. Me no get drunk off it.” He protests with a half attempt smile.
Zelda, still toting her tiger cloak, goes up to where Kat is sitting. “Hey, Kat, do you happen to have an extra prestidigitation spell? There’s some blood on my cloak and it would be sooooo haaaaard to clean off by hand…..” She flutters her eyelashes at Kat.
Kat checks her mental inventory. “Mm... sorry, Zelda, not today. Remind me before I prepare my spells tomorrow.”
Zelda looks disappointed. “Ah, well, I guess I’ll just have to wait. I’ll remind you!” She continues to wear it during breakfast, but rolls it up and puts it away in her bag once everyone actually starts getting moving.
And so, after an hour, having done whatever it is you’re gonna do, bundled and buffed, memorized, etc, for the day, are you exploring, or going to to fight the dragons?
Kat: “Let’s get to work and strip the valuables from the corpses. Harvey, can you skin those white bears?”
“I haven’t done anything that large since I became a bat, but I think I can pull it off,” Harvey says.
Salach- “Okay, hang on. We need to get as much as we can out of this place.” Salach then casts a spell called Linked Perception, which gives anyone within 20’ of him a bonus to spot and listen checks equal to 2x(number of other people in the ring).
Hryggda is standing amongst the freezing corpses as you exit your cave.
Hryggda- <”Took you all long enough.>”
Escaflowne, “<We are slow when there is nothing to fight.>”
Hryggda smirks, and stands around while you all loot.
Kat casts detect magic, lets it warm up, and goes around pointing out all the magical junk the giants were carrying.
It takes Harvey a while (like 30 minutes per bear, cause they’re huge and he’s tiny, both in a rules sense and literally, but he does skin the bears most effectively, and probably also butchers them enough to make sausage, de-fleshes the skulls, and declaws them. Basically all the parts that anyone would want to buy, Harvey acquires.
“Still got it,” Harvey says, very satisfied with himself.
Salach tells everyone to stay relatively close to him so that you all get +18 on your spot and listen checks.
Harvey tells everyone that he will cast a protection spell on them before they go fight dragons.
Zelda - “OOH spells! Yay!”
Loot acquired from the corpses:
The ogres don’t really have anything worth taking. Each of the dead frost giants (mooks, shield maidens, wizards, clerics, Lady, and Jarl, each had the standard complement of ivory and gold jewelry, so you find…
27x items of gold and ivory jewelry, worth about 2000 gp each.
The Lady’s corpse has a pair of magic gloves
Hryggda claimed both the Lady’s spiked chain and the Jarl’s greatsword (plus their heads) as her evidence that they’re dead.
And that’s all you find so far, having only explored as far as the main slaughterhouse/feasting hall.
Now that you have the time to look around, you can see various giant-sized benches and pushed along the east and west walls of the feast hall (top and bottom on the map). Caged fire bottles dimly illuminate the place, which is now almost as silent as tomb.
Zelda stands below one of them, staring up at it contemplatively.
“Do you want one?” Harvey asks.
Zelda looks over at him, her eyes sparkling. “Yes! Do you mind getting it down for me? I don’t think my jumping ability is quite up to snuff.”
Harvey turns into an Extremely Large Bat, and fetches both him and Zelda a fire thing.
Zelda turns the bottle around in her hand. “This is so neat looking! Thanks, Harvey!” She stows it in her bag.
At the south end (right side of the map) A huge ivory and bone throne, decorated with skulls, silver, and gems (nearly 100 of them), rests at the back of the vast throne room on a raised dias. Behind it, spread-eagled on the wall, is a white dragon hide; before it on the floor is the skin of a huge polar bear. An alabaster table and three ivory stools are to the forefront of the throne, the seats of the Jarls lieutenants. The area is unlit and otherwise empty
Kat, as she gazes over this pile, looking for anything that radiates magic. “May as well take those skins too.” No magic there either.
Salach- “Guess we better pry those gems up, right?”
Kat: “Oh, absolutely. You take the left side, I’ll take the right?”
Salach- “Sure.” It takes awhile, but you pry out a crapload of gems, as listed below.
After removing all the gems, Kat pulls out her Burning Hands wand and blasts the throne, burning the bones and ivory from around the silver. !0 charged later, and she’s left with an abstract and slightly ashy silver sculpture.
Zelda comes in while they’re doing so. “OOOH a bear! I like the tiger better though.” She goes up to the throne and searches it and its surrounding dias for hidden compartments. Nothing. Still nothing, despite your incredibly high spot check.
Caboose watches the fiasco going on, kicks a couple of dead giants here and there. He smiles. “Simple happy Caboose.” He whispers to himself.
Karla goes to check the ballista on the ledge, just to make sure it wasn’t left in a dangerous position.
It is fired and not loaded. And also not set up any more. There are several more ballista spears, but no treasure or anything.
Hryggda flags down Harvey. “<I must take my leave soon, but I want to show you where you can find my home. Do you have a map?”
<Of course,> Harvey says. He flutters up to karla and back with the map. It takes her a bit of effort to get it out of her bag, since it’s so large.
The map is 9 feet wide and 12 long, so it weigts like 20 lbs.The party picked it up from the hill giants.
When Harvey unfurls the map, Hryggda gets an odd look on her face. “<Did the fire giants send you to punish these frost giants?>”
Harvey frowns. <I am recently joined this crew so I cannot be sure, but from what I have learned it is possible they raided a fire giant’s stronghold and stole this as well. I was given this task by the inhabitants of the land under siege, not the giants.>
He beckons the nearest member of the party over and translates. Zelda happens to be closest. “Oh, that thing? We took it off the hill giants who lived….here!” She points on the map. “No fire giants around, though. We would have killed them if there were.”
Hryggda nods. It’s clear she understands common, she just refuses to speak it. “<Yes, Chief Nosrna. He and his wife and a few retainers fled here when their steading was attacked. They stayed in the upper level of the Rift. You attacked them as well, did you?>”
Zelda - “Where the giants are, we follow!” She says with an evil grin.
Escaflowne growls something about giants and their slaves.
While Hryggda, Harvey, and Zelda pore over the map (on the convenient table in front of the throne), everyone else keeps looking for shiny stuff. When Karla comes back down to the table, she takes a seat on one of the ivory stools.
Zelda - “Don’t get too comfy, we’re taking that too. Too bad this table is too big to fit in a bag.”
Dragon goes and climbs the other ledge, and finds the second ballista, this one locked and loaded. He removes he spear and then fires it. You all hear a low “twuuuuunngggggggg.”
Kat tries to fit the silver from the throne into her bag of holding. It’s like trying to stuff a fence into a backpack. She calls Escaflowne over and asks him if he can compact it for her.
Escaflowne starts working to compact the silver into a ball. It takes a few minutes, and Esca notices that Hryggda has an impressed look on her face as he does this. Escaflowne offers Hryggda a slight nod of his head.
Kat applauds. “Thank you, Escaflowne.” She rolls the ball into her bag.
Escaflowne, “You’re welcome.”
Kat then goes to the hall stage left of the former throne’s dais to carefully poke around.
Hryggda points out the location of the rift, the steading, the town of Pest’s Crossing, where she says some of the fire giants have taken up residence, a small fort she calls Kargyraa, between her home, which is manned by several of her kinsman to receive shipments of goods from the lowlands. She points out her home which is a mountain she calls Rungirheim, only about 30 miles away from here (through trackless mountains, though).
Finally, she points out another place that is already marked on the map: the Hall of King Snurre Ironbelly, the leader of the fire giants who provided most of the power of the invasion. His thane, another fire giant named Thrasmotnir, rules Pest’s Crossing, and by extension, most of the lowlands.
King Snurre’s Hall is only another 30 miles or so northwest of Mount Rungirheim, but is situated near a volcano (hence the presence of fire giants).
Karla considers the map. “Well, assuming we’re not going after Kargyraa then, Pest’s Crossing isn’t a very good target for us since we’d have to pass by it. Though it looks like we’ll have to cross through Mt Rungirheim anyway to get to Hall of fire giants.”
Hryggda- “<I will tell my father what you have done here and what you plan to do, and he will give you safe passage in exchange for a service. We, the Tyrval frost giants, have tired of the war, which we get nothing out of. We want to withdraw, but the cloud giants kidnapped my brother and are holding him ransom hostage for our compliance, and so we’re stuck. They’ll just throw him off their cloud if we attack them.>”
Escaflowne, “I would like to get back at the giants at Pest’s Crossing.”
Karla - “Well we certainly can’t leave Pest’s Crossing as is, but it may not be our next target. Does that cloud you mentioned move or is it stationary?”
Hryggda- “<The cloud giants control it, so it floats around visiting towns under the giants’ control, and about once a month it visits Mount Rungirheim to collect the tribute from the lowlands.>”
Karla - “We’ll want to see if we can catch it at a different stop, then, to make sure their first response to our invasion isn’t throwing him off. Hey Salach, do you have any points you can teleport to in the lowlands or further west or are we going to have to go the long route?”
Hryggda- “<Are you not using the map to transport yourselves?>”
<excuse me?> Harvey says. <what do you mean use the map>
Hryggda rolls her eyes, and mumbles something about vermin knowing nothing. “<Do you have the chain>?”
Escaflowne cocks his head at Hryggda and her vermin comment. His helmet makes it harder to display his displeasure through more than body language. Harvey, who is both mildly annoyed at the party for apparently not realizing they have a magic map, and used to being called vermin doesn’t react.
Harvey, who again knows nothing, asks Zelda and Karla about a chain.
Salach- “<I picked up a chain made of adamantine in the hill giants’ steading. It’s in my chest of stuff.>” He repeats this in common, and trots over from whatever he was doing.
Hryggda sighs in an exasperated manner. “<Look, you have the map, you and whoever else you want to travel, you decide where on the map you want to go, you get in the chain and make two circles with it>”- she draws a figure-8 on the table with her finger- ”<and you teleport to one of these places. You see how the name of this place, the Rift of the Jarl, is underlined? That means you can go there.>”
Karla immediately scans for other underlined names.
Right now, just the Hall of King Snurre.
Hyrggda- “<The only other thing the svartalf told us is that if you’re at a place, you can write the name in, underline it, and then you can teleport yourself there.>”
Karla - “Wow, that’s a useful item. We should definitely update it as we move about. So we can go to the Hall of the fire giants right away, then.”
Salach- “<Did you say dark elves?>”
Hryggda- “<Yes, they came by once with some of Snurre’s men, but Hyrkmos, my father, wanted nothing to do with them and their schemes. They advise Snurre, I think. He said to be far stronger than smart.>”
Zelda - “Cloud giants behind the frost giants, dark elves behind the fire giants. This is just going to be a continuous nesting doll of murderous humanoids until we get too old to fight, isn’t it?”
Hryggda- “<The leader of the dark elves is a woman named Eclavdra, so if you find her, they may withdraw. The whole invasion was the cloud giants idea, the dark elves just convinced the fire giants to help, is what they say.>”
Escaflowne, “If we just kill them all then there won’t be anyone to come back with another army to try this again.”
Karla - “That is true, but also a lot of work, and therefore a lot of time. If we can drive them out, fewer people will be killed in the meantime.”
Hryggda- “<My father seeks a negotiated settlement with the low-landers, not more warfare.>”
Karla - “Indeed, and if we can find any other groups who agree among the allied giants, that would be helpful as well. Do you know of any?”
Hryggda- “<There are two other clans of frost giants who live around Rungirheim who will follow our lead, but the fire giants will not likely compromise, and the cloud giants won’t either. They barely consider us people, to say nothing of you tiny ones.>”
Escaflowne, “I can tell you all about what fire giants think of us.” in a low growl.
Karla - “Well this has been very informative. I think we’re going to continue to explore the Rift, I don’t suppose you know where the dragons are kept, do you?”
Hryggda- “<Their cave is hidden behind a boulder just like this cave was. Walk directly across the hall from the entry to this area, and that’s where you should look.>”
Karla - “So no one move the boulder until we’re ready.” She stares pointedly at Caboose, and then Zelda, and then Dragon for good measure.
Karla - “We’ll let our allies know about your clan’s desire to negotiate as well when we return.”
Escaflowne cracks his knuckles, “lets not way too long.”
Hryggda nods. “<I will return home and tell my father who you are and what you’re doing. When you approach Mount Rungirheim, or Kagyraa fort, say that Hryggda Hrykmosdottir has sent you, and that you seek an audience with the Jarl of Clan Tyrval, Hrykmos. The giant will escort you to the mountain.>”
Harvey gives her many respectful ritual statements of thanks and potential allyship.
Hryggda bows politely and then takes her leave, curiously into the areas you haven’t explored yet.
Karla starts rolling up the map. As soon as she stands up, Zelda snatches the stool she was on and stuffs it in her bag.
Escaflowne stretches, “we ready to move this rock?”
“Not until I cast a spell, we’re not,” Harvey says flatly.
Karla - “We should finish exploring first. Leave the dragons for last.” She starts pulling her bag over the end of the map roll, in a similar motion to how she sweeps up bodies into it. “I guess practicing getting large long things into my bag has multiple uses.”
Salach- “You know, it struck me as odd that a lot of the writing on the map was a dialect of elvish, but I didn’t know which one until now.”
Zelda - “Ugh, dark elves. Such jerks.”
Escaflowne, “They might squish a little easier than some of these giants.”
Toe Cutter grumbles something about being too short to bother with.
Kat’s explorations find….
The eastern half of this area looks like is was a private audience hall, with pelts and skins on the walls and floor, a table, and four chairs. On the walls hang two swords, a heavy crossbow, two greatswords, and a pair of ivory tusks. Some slightly rotten looking furs and tapestries hang on the short sections of wall to the north (left side of the map). Both halves of the area are lit by caged fire bottles. To the east, well worn steps, each about three feet high, lead up to an exit screened by thick leathery hides.
To the west (bottom) is a trophy hall. Three chairs and two tables provide a comfortable spot for a frost giant to sit. The floor is covered with actual rugs. The walls of the alcove are adorned with a cave bear pelt of enormous size, a wyvern skin, the rack from a giant stag, the teeth and claws of an unidentified monster*, giant scorpion claws, the horn of a woolly rhino, a pair of mastodon tusks, a bow and quiver with 16 arrows, a giant boar head, a griffon skin, two human sized shields, a dwarves skull with an iron crown, two crossed spears and a flail, a tapestry, a case of crossbow bolts, the wings of a giant eagle, a greataxe, a human sized suit of platemail, two walrus tusks, another shield, a suit of dwarves splint mail, a second tapestry, a shedu head, a huge iron mace, a giant lynx pelt, the jaws from some large lizard (not a dragon), a suit of mithril plate mail, yet another shield, a light crossbow, and a third tapestry.
When Kat turns back north, she arrives in a place that appears to have been the communal quarters for the giant gentry. There is a cot, chest, chair or stool, and several hides and skins for each inhabitant. The whole area is lit by torches and a few fire bottles, with many pegs holding cloaks, capes and bags along the walls. Four huge lockers, three hampers and six wardrobes make up the rest of the furnishings.
Kat has not dropped her detect magic spell.
The following items from the trophy hall radiate magic: the mithril plate mail, one of the shields, some arrows, and one of the walrus tusks.
Kat returns to the main hall and if the others are done with their confab calls for Salach and his amazing storage trunk. “I found the Jarl’s trophy hall!”
Salach- “What’s in there?” Back to looting!
Kat: “A magic walrus tusk, among other things. And I’d like to take as many of the pelts as we can. Can you imagine the rooms at the inn done up in different exotic animal skins?”
Salach- “Haha, nice, we’d have to start running safaris.”
Harvey looks into the trophy hall and his eyes seem to glow red for a moment. “They deserve what they got,” he mutters to himself.
And if you want to search all the lockers and chests and whatnot, search checks!
Fluff is currently curled up happily on Zelda’s trailing tiger skin. Zelda glances back at her and says “It’s a good thing the floors are very flat.” Fluff purrs happily and adorably at her.
The four ex-prisoners are following you around meekly, grabbing stuff to keep warm (even though they have endure elements on them.)
Salch, while digging through someone’s foot locker, calls out, “Hey, I found a spellbook...and it weighs 60 lbs. Kat, give me a hand.”
Kat goes to assist Salach.
Everyone else is mostly finding money and gems (CRAPLOADS of money and gems, please see below), and since you don’t care about this place you ransack everything!
Karla carefully picks up the dwarf skull and crown, and wraps them in an animal skin before placing them in her bag. “This seems like it might be important.”
Escaflowne leaves the looting to the rest of the party and pulls security.
Caboose rests his axe on his shoulders and pulls security.
After a couple hours looting this room, where do you loot next?
Caboose sighs. “Escaflowne?” He asks gingerly
Escaflowne looks at Caboose warily, “Yes?”
Caboose looks to Escaflowne “you ever wonder why we hear?”
You’ve completely ransacked the entire communal living quarters area.
Escaflowne shakes his head, “No, there are people who study that that can tell us.” Then moves up with Kat to pull security as they continue to search areas.
Caboose runs up with Escaflowne “but do those people know if there big god who controls people or we come from little lizard people thingys” he asks with big eyes
Harvey flies by Caboose. “Hearing helps you detect things you want to kill and things that want to kill you.” He says over his shoulder. “Some spiders hear with their leg hairs.”
Caboose looks to Harvey “Caboose can talk and kill. Don’t need wing magic. Just axe magic.” He smiles as he responds politely. “Caboose just curious about life.”
“Curious is good,” Harvey says. “Curious keeps you alive and helps you find things that make you happy.” Then he flies after the others.
Escaflowne leaves Harvey to answer Cabooses questions, “I don’t know complicated answers.”
Caboose smile fades “Caboose only ask because he want big god to point him to giants who murder caboose parents.” He sighs deeply “caboose be happy this way.” Then looks to the ground.
Jokes ont he party, the room to the north of the main living quarters smells like a small sleuth of giant bears lived in there. But you can see another exit on the far end.
Zelda and Fluff explore down the small hallway going east out of the living quarters.
Dragon tags long with them, cause you shouldn’t go alone. (Take this!)
The room past the bear den is...full of weapons! And rocks. Piles of throwing rocks, shields, spears, clubs and helmets, all sized for frost giants. There are also throwing axes and a chainmail shirt (still frost giant sized).
There are two more exits to the weapons storage area Kat is in, one back into the throne room, and one to another living quarters-type area.
Kat proceeds into the living quarters area “Is this where the giants fled?”
Salach- “I don’t know, but I doubt they would have stayed in here for a day.”
Escaflowne, “I believe so, and I agree with Salach. They kept going somewhere else.”
Kat moves forward into the living quarters. She looks around, Detect Magic still active. Tragically, she detects nothing magical.
Escaflowne continues to pretend like he is Kat’s bodyguard.
This room holds bedpiles of skins and hides, a few stools, eleven large boxes, five chests, and many pegs hammered into the walls. The pegs are mostly empty, and a few of the chests have been hastily opened and ransacked, as if the owners were evacuating in a hurry.
Escaflowne, “I don’t see much of a way for anyone to get out of here.”
Kat: “That is very strange”
Escaflowne points back the way they came, “There has to be an exit that way somewhere. They just came in here to get some belongings before running.”
Kat nods “Good point.”
After another hour of careful and thorough looting, you find that one of the boxes has a hole dug underneath it, and in that hole is a bag full of platinum coins, nearly 2000 of them, judging by the weight.
The bag goes in Salach’s chest, and the three hurry to rejoin the others, suddenly having realized that they’ve split the party.
-------------------
The room Zelda is trying to enter is obscured by two things: two steps, each three feet high, and leather curtains at the narrowest point of the entrance. Zelda climbs up on to the first step and peers through the curtains. She tries not to dump Fluff off her cloak.
Near the entrance, Zelda sees… the westernmost part of this chamber, filled with a huge table, four chairs, three wardrobes, five chests, five trunks, and seven coffers. The walls are hung with heavy tapestries and skins. Sitting on the otherwise empty table are a large platinum jewel-encrusted drinking horn, and it’s companion, a large gold flagon, also gem encrusted.
Zelda - “Got another loot heavy room over here. It’s very shiny.”
Dragon- “Love it, excellent.”
The room is silent and devoid of people, so Zelda can get a good look at the far end as well. The eastern portion of the cavern is partially screened off by hangings. This cozy nook holds a rumpled bed, a small table, a chair, a chest, a trunk, various odds and ends of clothing, armor, weapons here and there, none particularly valuable. The walls are hung with pelts and rugs, none of which look also not valuable looking.
Zelda - “Must be a hidden exit behind all that stuff…?”
The far wall is covered with lots of leather curtains and tapestries.
Zelda hops down off the step and says to Fluff, “Time to go up the stairs. I can leave the cloak here with you if you want to stay down here.”
Fluff chirps and noses herself a nice nest in the skin, careful not to damage it.
Zelda tucks the rest of the cloak around Fluff and heads into the room to loot. “Gonna need a magic user in here too for the magic detecting part!”
Harvey flies in, ready to cast detect magic.
One of the trunks and one of the chests appear to contain magic items. Harvey indicates this to Zelda so she can check for traps and stuff
Karla paces back and forth between the two groups, just to make sure no one has spontaneously died while she wasn’t looking.
Everyone convenes at the Jarl and Lady’s personal chambers once they’re done looting everything else.
Kat: “Did anyone look in the corridors behind those Ice toads?”
Dragon- “No, we only went as far as the ice toads.”
Karla - “Isn’t that where Hryggda said the dragons were?”
Zelda can’t find any traps, but nor is anything locked.
Salach- “She said straight across from the entrance to this section of the cave.”
Whoever it is opens all the chests, coffers, boxes, trunks, whatever, and finds yet more money, eight potions, but not the thing that radiates magic in the trunk If there are any locks, Salach and Zelda eventually defeat them all. Or Caboose just smashes the boxes open.
Caboose watches everyone looting and still pulls security.
The magical emanations from whatever it is tell you that the items are in the lid of the trunk.
Salach searches for the secret compartment. “It’s pretty cleverly designed, cause I got nothing.”
Kat also fails to find anything. “Well, take the whole box, then, and we can figure it out later.”
Escaflowne looks at the lid to see if there is a way he might be able to break it open without damaging anything inside.
He could definitely break the lid off the rest of the trunk without damaging the lid, but that’s about it.
Escaflowne rips the lid off the trunk.
Caboose continues to patrol and secure things.
Salach- “Yeah, we can deal with that tomorrow.”
These whole shenanigans took you most of the day, but look at all the stuff you got, mostly now sequestered into various extradimensional spaces. The party returns to their cave and gets settled in for the night.
