these are all based on various characters from WIPs, Top two are from my high school romance, second is airship Captain Nikora Kendrick of the Dagger's Edge and the last one is professional thief Nairobi oddly, I had to put fantasy themed in the prompt for her to get the hat lol.

I was messing around with the prompt of "punk rock princess professional shot on Canon EOS-1D X Mark III " with different checkpoints and got some images that kicked started my brain on how to set a vibe for one of the characters in my high setting book

so,we got the burial taken care of all that, I've had to move twice. The frist move was into a temp place was that was supposed to have lasted a month but instead ending up being three months. It was a converted shed, the place I'm finally in is an actual apartment, so thats awesome. I'm still looking for a car.

Please, if you don't like AI-generated anything don't hate post here, make your own thread.

So, in the last year and a half or so, I've started playing around with it. I'm lucky enough to have a beefy machine that can run it locally instead of using only web-based ones like nightcafe. I have several different checkpoints or models for usage.

for example:
full body visible, A human female steampunk gunslinger standing on a street looking at the camera, intricate, highly detailed,8k ultra-realistic, colorful, painting burst, beautiful symmetrical face, a nonchalant kind look, realistic round eyes, tone mapped, intricate, elegant, highly detailed, digital painting, art station, concept art, smooth, sharp focus, illustration, dreamy magical atmosphere,4k,

gets me

did it feel like it had disks spinning?

iv seen videos of rehardwaring a drive, but it does not look Fun.

Doesn't spin up at all, which usually means it's seized or the controller is fucked and not supplying power properly. Either way it means taking it apart. How do we at this stage in our data tech not have a device you can just stick the platters on to do a single read from, writing the data to cheap drive? 20 years ago we could write from a halfway-degaussed magnetic tape drive to digital device, with no further loss of data. Now we can't even do a raw write. I get that it's much more complicated tech, but you'd think reliable data recovery would be an important factor in a ubiquitous product like hard drives.

That's why all businesses store their data on drives in a RAID.  My personal data storage drives are in a RAID specifically to help reduce data loss (plus also in the cloud).

Thhe cloud you say

So tonight I finally put the final word on a story I had been writing on a freeform game for going on... about eight years now, I think.

Due to a complete clusterfuck of circumstances, it was basically all but abandoned by the beginning of this year, but even if I wanted it to end with a whimper, not a bang, I still wanted to give everyone involved a chance to say goodbye to their characters in a manner befitting them. After all, they spent most if not all of that time writing with me.

And thanks to an absolute asshole of a stalker (seriously, fuck that guy with a rusty spoon), the absolute apocalypse that this year is turning out to be and the forums the story was in exploding, I had to essentially have a funeral for that game by myself. So... yeah, feeling pretty melancholic by now.

 :hug

If Social Security comes after me for overpay after the pandemic is over I'm likely screwed. For now though I can absorb this with the relief check and my overtime pay.

They over paid me when i first started getting social security and i talked with them and they took out the minimum they could over time, so instead of paying it back all at once it was spread out.
