Thinking to himself that the Red Fist of Doom reminds him of one of the Kunk Fu minstral shows he saw years ago, Suq wandres over to join the rest of the group.

"Yenmorn, Marril, well met; I feel sorrow for your loss, and swear to do what I can to avenge your fallen comrades."

Søffå feels his spirits lift somewhat at the mention of Marsh Laval's name.  "I am glad to learn that Marsh at least escaped without harm.  I much desire to speak with him; could you tell me where Marsh is now?"

He turns towards Everin, and to the approaching Suq:  "The significance of the banner in the tavern still eludes me - Maybe Marsh knows more about this Sinruth, or at least The Fist?"

"Old Marsh is probably still running, if the rumors are true about him, he takes the Halfling knack for getting out of trouble to new levels." Yen replies.

Søffå shrugs:  "I did not know him by reputation, but I guess it was too much to expect at the moment.  Still, there is hope that I will find him safe after this peril has past."

Hearing the sounds of battle, but not able to see much in the darkness, Søffå ignites a sunrod and attaches it to his belt near his scabbard.  He looks into the distance to see if the magical illumination helps him to learn more about the origins of the battle roar, or the creatures involved.

He then gently caresses the hilt of his sword before speaking again to the town guard.  "Tell me, how stand your defenses?  What threats remain, and where do you require assistance?"

Granite and Bhrim make their way to the front of the inn to join the group.

Yenmorn answers, "We are not sure. We do know tha...." he is interrupted by some screams as a group of townsfolk race around the corner some looking back in horror, they flee right toward you. What looks like a barrel flys throw the air and hits the ground behind them and explodes into a ball of fire, immolating a couple of the trailers.

The source of the fire barrel soon becomes known. Rounding the corner is a curious but horrific sight. A hulking Ogre, giant tree trunk for a club in one hand. A Harness is about his waist and he is hauling a wagon behind him. His other hand reaches back to one of a pair of hobgoblins. Who has lit and hefted another barrel to hand the Ogre.

The other hobgoblin levels a bow and lets fly at one of the fleeing villagers striking one in the leg. He falls to the ground along with the child he carries.

A woman shrieks "My husband..my child....someone please save them!!!!"

The guards turn and charge off. "For Loudwater!" they shout in unison.

Søffå speaks quickly to Suq and Everyn.  "I will move to a better vantage point for an attack.  Gird yourselves - It will take all of our efforts if we are to survive this night!"  He then bursts into a run down the street towards the monster, screaming "Atanos - You are needed!!!"

As he passes the villagers, he shouts ""RUN AWAY!!!"; Søffå continues to run himself, taking cover behind a nearby building where he can better act.

Atanos
You definitely get an eye full. A hulking full grown ogre pulling a wagon by a yoke around his waste. A cask raised in his hand a lit rag of sorts sticking out of a hole in one side.

Suq follows Everyn to cover, eying the ogre and muttering a curse as he goes. Once he reaches cover he reaches into the powers he bargained for and unleashes a blasts of dark writhing energy but it sails horribly wide.
(click to show/hide)

Granite's hammer and shield are out in an instant and he races across the new battlefield as fast as his short legs will carry him. "Hurry up ye slow arse! Ye donnae want ta be missin' all the fun." he shouts at Bhrim as he passes.
(click to show/hide)

Thak roars with stupid laughter, having the time of his life. He launches the lit cask but overshoots his target. It lands on the ground and erupts into a burst of flame, immolating a villager and lighting the area where it struck a blaze. "Duhuhuhuhuh!"
(click to show/hide)

The villagers scramble, screaming, and running for their very lives to escape the hulking fire lobbing menace.
