Well, I'd like her to be in front, seeing as she has a sword whilst Kana has a spear. >.>

You know, it's amusing, but they don't appear to give rules for making saves anywhere. Though I presume it's roll over your save number or whatever it's called. :p

Save? 1d20 : 7, total 7

Are We doing Initiative Separate or Together or What? I have no idea any more. 1d6 : 1, total 1

As normal, I fail miserably at everything.

Raineh Daze, would you like Alex to go before Kana?  I sort of felt in this post that you wanted to do so.  Oslecamo, would you be OK with that?

Kana behind Alex is fine too. :p

Now, which of these are we using? >:/

Quote
One player rolls 1d6 for the player characters’    ¶
side, and the Referee rolls 1d6 for the opposition.
The winner’s side acts first, the loser acts second.
All player characters roll 1d6 for initiative indi-   ¶
vidually, and the Referee rolls initiative once for
each type of enemy they are facing in combat.
Then the Referee counts down from 6 to 1 (with
each of these units being a Segment of the
combat Round), with everyone acting on
their particular Initiative Segment.

One player rolls initiative as a group.  I do "first come, first serve" for initiative, so Raineh Daze's roll of 1 means that Alex and Kana will go after the sorcerer.

And yes, you roll over your listed save number in order to succeed at that save.  In Alex's case, she needs a 12 or better, so Alex will be unable to stay in the prison area.  Kana should roll as well.

If I'd known that beforehand, I would've left Os to roll, as I seem to be caught on a permanent chain of bad rolls. :p

Well, so none of us resists the stench of the room.

Kana will of course take borrow the magic scrolls for herself.

Alex seems to have won initiative, so I guess it is her turn to post? Or should I describe myself running away from the bad smell just to run into an ambush?

With group initiative, you decide what order you guys go in.  So whichever choice is okay with you and Raineh Daze.

So I wanted a low roll, not a high one? Did I misread the section? :blush

If you're referring to saving throws, high is still good.  It's just that the DC gets lower the higher your level, thus increased chances for success.

If you're referring to initiative, higher is still generally better.

Ah, so Os is wrong and I would technically go last.

Waiting to see what the sorcerer DOES, since he beat us. :p

Said sorcerer cast a Magic Missile to hit the two of you.  He rolled poorly.  Alex takes 1 point of damage, and Kana takes none.

Your turn.

Time to gamble!

So, for one, hoping it hits. For two, hoping I get a 4 on the damage roll, as charging outright doubles damage dealt.

... on the downside, I take a -6 to AC from charging and pressing an attack (which do not seem to be mutually exclusive)

Rolled 1d20+6 : 18 + 6, total 24

Rolled 1d8+2 : 7 + 2, total 9

This dice roll has been tampered with!

No, there's nothing in the text which says that they can't be used together.

Given that you received a result of 9 on the die, that converts to 2 points of damage.  Double damage means that it becomes 4, cutting down the sorcerer.

House Rule: For Lamentations of the Flame Princess, effects which can double, triple, or quadruple damage are not applied until the results of the damage dice are converted to their Solo Heroes results.  So instead of multiplying 9 by 2 to get 18, I converted 9 on the die to 2 points and multiplied by 2.

I think it works because Pressing is an option for an attack, whilst charging simply allows you to make an attack at the end.

Would make charging rather pointless if it only doubled dice results, since I'm most likely going to get two damage on anything else anyway. ^^;

We're not playing that kind of game, but the trap's still very dangerous.

Anyway, made a post.  I miraculously rolled low damage again, so you don't need to roll a save for it.  (2d6, 1 on each die = 0 damage each in Solo Heroes).
