D&D 3.5 and Pathfinder / Re: How do y'all feel about PCs crafting magic and psionic items?

Crafting Items feat ... v ... regular old feat = unfair fight in 3e and 4e.
Can 3e Fighters do anything near what 1 Wizard (or Psion) feat at level 3 ?
Can 4e Fighters do anything near what 1 Wizard ritual (via a feat) does at level 4 ?
Nope.
If a level 6 feat slot gave a Fighter the equivalent of Ghost touch on his weapons,
how does this compare (at all) to LoP's Endless Spells at level 6, one feat, one spell, one AP.
It doesn't. And yet the Fighter feat is better than some of the things it can get at level 6.
There isn't anything resembling the mythical "balance" in feats,
so long as X-mas tree crafting is associated with it.

Gandalf had his staff and that magic ball.
He slept with them because a Tuke might take it.
And his eyes open while sleeping. Thieves steal stuff.
How many Items can you have, and not have them pilfered ?
It's more a game design problem.
