Yay healing!

Yay more HP!

Boo, having to do all the face stuff!

You've got two Cha 8 meatheads (sort of, Nanshork's a caster too) as partners. It looks like their idea of "social skills" is "I threaten him with an axe!", so you've got your work cut out for you. On the other hand, most combat shouldn't be too hard for you lot.

Anyway, if you three want to hop into the IC and begin talking, the campaign can start. Can finish up the last bit of the character sheets while doing that. And given the race selection, I'm assuming you all came together from outside the city, rather than being born there.

Okay, I just need gear and my wolf needs a level 3 feat and then I'm done.   :)

I probably crafted you some things.

Or at least, I'm offering to.

Gazz's character is a fairly competent crafter, which is handy. Plus he's had plenty of experience dealing with the new crafting and cost system for items in Arhosa.

And you'll be the first Wolf Totem character I've seen and the first using a Totem Companion. I suspect a large number of characters will be spending time on their backs.

Just tell me what kind of discount I get on my gear.   :P

I went wolf totem because A) I hate grappling and didn't want to deal with it and B) I wanted a totem companion right now.  Eagle and wolf became my only options and eagle is less combat oriented.

Discount? Everything is 40% more expensive in Arhosa than normal D&D :P

But if Gazz crafts it especially for your character, it grants a +2 competence bonus. Hence all of his stuff being decent masterwork gear and skill boosters.

Grappling is annoying, I will grant you that. So many extra/opposed dice rolls. And it's not even that effective without specializing heavily into it. And you're right that Eagle is definitely more movement focused, but you could have grabbed Snake if you wanted another combat option. Or just didn't want to turn into a slitherer?

Ugh, so complicated.   :p

Result of me pulling out XP costs, as well as generally wanting to have items more expensive anyway. At one point I was considering 80% :P

You'll actually be able to turn into one if necessary, I suppose, since you've got Animalism. Which at least at first means you aren't too limited to your Totem Form.

After looking into the totem animals more, there is a huge gap in power between some of the choices.  And not just from stats.

Tiger and Bear and Ape are on top in that order, they get three natural attacks and good stats.

Wolf is in the middle.  Decent stats but one attack.

Viper and Eagle are on the bottom, they are both just kind of crappy.

If we were playing a higher level game I would never pick wolf, viper, or eagle.  There's just no reason to.

I am aware of this, but I didn't actually have much choice in the matter - they are the only animals that have basic, dire, and legendary options. So unless I made Dire and Legendary options for a number of other animals to use as Totems (not something I really wanted to do), I could only use that set.

The only available options missing are the Horse (which I could actually add) or the Shark (not very useful most of the time).

Everything costs 40% more, but then I craft it for 50%, so I guess it only costs you... 70% of normal?

It only costs 46.66%. I'm dumb. Mundane items are crafted for 1/3 cost.

Is everything more expensive, including non-magic items?

Ugh, I thought it was just magic items due to removing the XP costs.  One second while I pretend I'm an accountant and fix my sheet.

Edit: Okay, character sheet is done.

I was wrong. I craft things for 46.66% because I forgot mundane items are cheaper.

You should be sorry, making me do math to give my character more and more gold left over.   :P
