Marbles aren't core.   :shakefist

The only thing cheap and light enough to have a sackful as my everyday weapon would be candles and chalk.  :P

I asked about sling bullets because one of the approved cheap magic items is a bag of infinite sling bullets which I would have re-flavored as juggling balls or some such.  Slightly less silly.  :P

Edit: Can I just reflavor the infininte sling bullet bag as a juggling ball bag?  Instead of masterwork weapons they'd be masterwork perform (juggling) tools and thus not give me a bonus to attack.

Question: If I throw a sling bullet is that an improvised weapon?

Initial reaction is no, since you're doing exactly what you're supposed to with a sling bullet, just with a less efficacious form of propulsion.
I actually disagree with this. A sling bullet is basically a lump of metal. If you throw it, you're not using it as a sling bullet, which is basically the definition of an improvised weapon.

EDIT: By your logic, stabbing someone in melee with a xbow bolt wouldn't be improvised.

Except that a sling is a lever designed to increase the length of your arm, and a crossbow is a machine designed to replace it. Otherwise, great analogy.

How about a thrown arrow or bolt, then?

Any other (non-farcical) suggestions for a feat? I can always get away with Improved Initiative, but there are so many interesting homebrew options I may be unaware of...

Hm. How about something like Shape Soulmeld (something from Green Man)? There are bunch of interesting things in there.

Or how about Wyrmling Ideal? Also a ton of options.

Activate Module from PoC can give you your choice of an interesting module effect.
- Infantry Teleporter and Shadow Beam each give a 10% miss chance.
- Screw Attack gives 10 feet of flight per round.
- Morph Ball is more fun than anything, although I think that technically it synergizes really well with monk, since you don't care nearly as much about your equipment becoming nonfunctional. You (probably) can still make unarmed attacks (kinda key, and I'm not 100% sure about this) in addition to the slam it gives you, although you're one size smaller so you'll deal a little less damage but have a higher attack bonus.

These probably aren't the feats you're looking for, but if they are look at Dodge, Combat Reflexes, Natural Spell, or Alertness.

I suspect you don't want to be exalted, but it is an option.

I've got some feats in microbrews, although I don't claim them to be as well balanced as most. Dirty Brawling may work nicely for you.

Edit: Probably silly, but if you wanted you could use your feats to go ranged instead of melee. Weapon Focus + Martial Strikes so you can use pressure strikes, then use your third feat for Dex to damage with either Activate Module (Advanced Targeting) or not-the-Point Blank Shot-you're-looking-for.

Consumptive Fetish, Deatheater, and Trophy Collector. More seriously, First Into Battle, Knock Aside, Nibble Away, or Quick Afoot. All from here.

I only just got back from a six day trip out of town for a wedding, so my character-building has been a bit slowed. Should be back up to speed now.

Hey Garryl, you're not playing Spellsoul Armor, are you? Because if you were, you could be my character's armor and that would be tremendous.

I'm stuck at the characterization phase of character creation. Mechanics are done, I don't think I'm missing anything there. I just have no idea yet for my character's name/background/personality/etc.

Hey Garryl, you're not playing Spellsoul Armor, are you? Because if you were, you could be my character's armor and that would be tremendous.

Nah, just a regular old human, sorry.

I don't think spellsoul armor works like that, for all that it's an interesting concept.

I only just got back from a six day trip out of town for a wedding, so my character-building has been a bit slowed. Should be back up to speed now.

Congratulations. Another happy couple, I hope?

Oh, you're right. It doesn't say so in the racial traits (and I think the wording on the Living Armor ability actually makes it seem more like it's allowed), but up at the top it says "While spellsoul weapons are often wielded by spellshape champions, suits of spellsoul armor cannot be worn." I don't know why this should be, but whatever.

On the subject of Spellsoul, it seems odd you can't trip it - you can trip other flying creatures, although it does work a little oddly.
