So you know how "c" is always the correct answer on multiple choice tests?  Well, in my edpsych book, reading about assessment, there's the following guideline (from, like, 15) for making more effective multiple choice test questions:

"Vary the position of the correct answer, and avoid overusing choice c"
C is the most common answer on the SAT test. By like 1%. I have no idea what it is for the ACT, or for end-of-year tests in school, or for your edpsych book.

I was kidnapped today. By feminists.
You know, there's a whole genre of porn about that.

Also a Portlandia sketch.

Looks like 2 hands like a normal crossbow. It's lacking the one-hand language of the hand crossbow. And you'll still need a free hand to reload it - one hand to hold it, one hand to load.

Even with hand crossbows, you can't really TWF unless you can find a third hand or another trick to help reload. Same deal with guns, too.

Nope. Core class only. A swash is a swash, and not an inspired blade. A 'slinger is a 'slinger, not a pistolero.

Of course, its an easy sell for any non-PFS GM.

7
Well... if you roll your damage normally, split the damage equally, then apply both halves to the same target... then how exactly is that different than just attacking a single target without using the power?

Um, they did use the usual wording.
Quote from: PFSRD
Reach Weapons: A reach weapon is a melee weapon that allows its wielder to strike at targets that aren't adjacent to him. Most reach weapons double the wielder's natural reach, meaning that a typical Small or Medium wielder of such a weapon can attack a creature 10 feet away, but not a creature in an adjacent square. A typical Large character wielding a reach weapon of the appropriate size can attack a creature 15 or 20 feet away, but not adjacent creatures or creatures up to 10 feet away.
They never say squares, they just give distances.

"Well, brought in a loose sense of the world. They're mostly still back in ... well here. But not here. I'm not sure how better to explain it. I walked through a portal and came to a place where this is all the same but different. Scissors can obviously pass back and forth, though I can only manage it when I follow on his heels. He did have one of my friends, taken and held. Would the thing leave him alive for any amount of time?"

10
"There were rat... things. Lots of them, and distracting too. To be honest, I'm not entirely certain that the others even noticed your Mr. Scissors. As to strength... well... he attacked us once, and will likely attack us again. I'd rather it happen on my terms than his. Besides, lots of folk are plenty strong enough to cause problems from ambush, but can't deal with a stand-up fight. If you can bring me to him, and especially if we can find him away from any distractions, I think we could do something interesting."

I need a jar on my desk to make people put money into when they waste my time after failing to follow instructions.  :shakefist

"I came to get a friend. Or at least a traveling companion. And I think I came to kill your Mr. Scissors. If any of that is even possible.

In the greater scheme of things, I merely want to move deeper into the Shade. It appears I am successful at that, at least. "

Do you guys think that weaponwand would let you use class features and feats that rely on attacking with a specific weapon?

like for example:

1:Cast weaponwand on a monks unarmed strike.
2: Insert wand of say... Produce Flame into monk.  (be mature here guys..  ;) )
3: Standard action activate wand.
4: the following round attack with all of produce flame while flurrying, since you are now kinda considered to be attacking with an unarmed strike?
So... lets leave aside the question of whether or not the Monk's unarmed strike is a valid target of the weaponwand spell. (Probably not, but if I was GM in a non-PFS game I'd let it slide, it's not as though Monks don't need some help). We can pretend you cast it on nunchucks or something.

Actually, it's the same whether its a flurry or a full attack.

Quote
You can attack normally with the weapon or use the weapon as if it were the encased wand.
So, you can flurry, or full attack, or whatever, or you can take a standard action to use the wand as part of the weapon. If you take that standard action then you can use whatever modifiers would have ordinarily applied to the attack - but it won't affect action economy at all.

In other words - a rogue could still get SA from using the wand in an attack (assuming the attack otherwise qualified for SA), weapon focus applies, point blank shot applies, things that affect the attack roll.

Think about it this way when wondering whether an affect applies: Does it apply to the attack roll? If yes, it applies. Does it apply to damage, action economy, or some other part of the attack (like the crit modifier, damage type, etc.)? If yes, it does not apply.

So... no spell combat, no full attacks, flurry, or two-weapon-attacks. No power attack (though the penalty could still apply, in case you activated it for AoOs or something). No damage bonus/penalty from size changes (though the attack roll and ability changes would apply to the attack roll). Critical focus, weapon specialization, and rapid shot don't do anything.

Charging, flanking, high ground all work.

So, let's say you use weaponwand to stick a wand of some touch spell or another into a whip.  Can you use the touch spell on anyone within the 15 feet a whip can attack into?
Yes - the attack action is the same.
Quote
Do you provoke an attack of opportunity like you would when normally attacking with a whip?
Yes, again the attack action is the same.
Quote
(For an opponent with combat reflexes, would this be considered a separate opportunity from the attack of opportunity you provoke for activating a wand?)
No, a single action can only provoke one AoO (like how moving through multiple threatened squares will only provoke once).
Quote
A whip normally can't deal damage to an armored foe, but can the spell from the wand deal damage to an armored foe when delivered through a whip?
No, the spell effect replaces the weapon effect.
Quote
Touch spells can critically hit.  If I use weaponwand with a kukri, does the touch spell get the 18-20 critical threat range?
Again, the only change is the bonuses of the attack, not the damage. You get to apply weapon finesse, weapon focus, dex or str, enhancement bonuses, etc. to the attack roll. Once the attack lands, it behaves just like the spell. (This is assuming that the spell in question uses an attack roll; if you're casting fireball or whatever then it works just like you were holding the wand normally).
In 3.5, you could choose to deliver a touch spell with a punch.  It ceased to be a touch attack, but you also dealt unarmed damage.  Does Pathfinder allow this too?
It does not, though it is an incredibly common houserule. You are considered 'armed' while holding a charge - the touch attack part of the spell does not provoke an AoO (though casting it does). You can cast a spell, move, then deliver the touch attack in the same round.

Quote
If so, how about a similar option for weaponwand?  You'd deal the weapon's damage on top of delivering the spell, but the whole thing would become a regular attack roll.
The option does exist. It is called a Magus. It requires the Wand Wielder arcana to work with wands though.

Gaming Advice / Re: [PF] no save offensive spells

Go here,

Click the 'Select all sources' button
Click the 'Narrow Search' tab
Select the classes you want
type 'none;' into the spell text field and select keywords (all)

Its not perfect, as it doesn't filter out non-offensive spells. It also filters out things with partial saves - many of which are worth casting for the no-save effect. But it'll get you closer than anything else I know.

Ptem simply followed along quietly, still watching as he moved, still entering the strange new chambers without hesitation...

And now we wait for a description of our trip to the basement. Likely down massive, cliff-like stairs.

I wouldn't want to use them either.

Also, I dunno if Ptem is gonna be any better of a conversationalist than Mr. Invisible.  :D His Cha isn't as low as some of my characters, but still.

19
"Lead on then, as any route is as good as any route. And an ambush set by a lying guide no different than an ambush set by strangers." Ptem seems quite comfortable to let this spider thing lead the way, but nevertheless keeps some distance.

20
Lost, and not knowing where to go, Ptem fell back on the old truism that your path doesn't matter if you don't know your destination. Thus, picking his through intersections at random he moved out into the dark and weird maze. His only concession to normality was to try and take the right hand turning, when the opportunity presented itself to make a choice. He did concentrate on keeping his footfalls quiet, and not blundering wildly around corners.

He simply started moving in the hopes of finding aid, direction, or some recognizable clue indicating a worthwhile destination.

Taking 10 on both perception and stealth while moving through, for a 25 and 26, respectively. If there's anything that a Knowledge (Religion) check would help with, let me know. In fact, go ahead and roll it for me, in the interests of speed - my bonus is a +10.

And we'll say I'm following the path that would have held the webbing in the other world. Also, like I said - right side turnings unless he recognizes that he's in a loop. He's also going to prefer open hallways to any closed door. Although, oddly, he will opt to explore any small open portal over a hallway (like cracks, crevices, and similar).

Sol, with that in mind, feel free to fast forward to something interesting, rather than navigate us intersection by intersection with a 12hr turnaround.  ;)
