Darkshine and other gems
« on: March 05, 2017, 11:55:23 AM »
I don't believe I've ever seen a resource of all the different terrains and environmental hazards 3.5 has to offer. Looking through a dragon magazine the other day, though, I realized how nice having one would be. Imagine, all the things a campaign architect can use (at least, that WotC has already prepared), right at our fingertips. I mean, I guess you could go poring over all the different books until your head spins, but every time I try, I inevitably get distracted.

Could we try this? Putting together a resource of all the hazards and terrains? Like this stuff, from Dragon 347:
• Dream mist
• Razorgrit storms
• Shimmer air
• Vacuum vortices
• Vapor fields
• Whispering winds
• Choke mold
• Darkshine
• Ghost tunnels
• Gripsilt
• Mineralmites
• Silent stones
• Ash willows
• Cerulean magma
• Ebony motes
• Hardfire
• Inferno stars
• Amber barnacles
• Brine coral
• Entangle weed
• Shiver sludge

They can be found from page 42-52.

Does anyone know any other sources?

There's a stack in each of the environment books - Sandstorm, Frostburn, and Stormwrack. That's where I'd look next.

Very well. I'll start with Cityscape, pages 31 to 33.
• Decrepit buildings
• Lamp smoke
• Plague animals
• Potholes
• Sinkholes
• Alchemical fog
• Alchemical rain
• Arcane pollution
• Black mold
• Necrotic miasma

Drow of the Underdark (does this count as an environmental book?) has two, both listed on page 159
• Lack of air
• Cramped spaces

I'll be back with more later, if someone else doesn't get here first
