I know I've seen all of these before, but I must ask. Where do you get your ideas? I never want to go there. Ever.

A lot of it's either dreams or simple ad lib. For example for the Carnal Mindflayer. When I decided to do my Jesters campaign I had to think about what it would do to races kidnapped and brought there. Mindflayers would prolly go batshit cut off from their deity and the Elder Brains, and have no means of continuing their species so I had them 'regress' to a more traditional form of reproduction, which unfortunately for them is prone to mutation. And in classic Uncle Kitteh form after that the thought was "how messed up can I make this and still get away with it".

So I just picked random names or concepts and fleshed them out. The Bimbo mindlfayer was inspired by a card game (Cthulhu 500 or something). Once I had a concept I just set down and fleshed out the crunch and figured out the fluffies later.

Hey, Bhu, a bit of an odd question...

Can you convert all of these to what they would be if Illithids had this for stats instead?

Or at least all of them before the Blob.

Basically, Illithids in my world are obsessive body modifiers, and these seem perfect to represent them... editing themselves.

I kind of assume that they live indefinitely, sustained by psionic power. Basically, a psion did it.

If they lived forever they wouldn't be tempted to become liches. But I'll be darned if i can find anything on their longevity.
