Something makes me think that I should have opted for the sword, not the bow, once we saw how small the rooms are... :rolleyes

And now to hope I'm doing this right:

Team Not-Monster Initiative 1d6 : 3, total 3

Alex Initiative 1d6 : 5, total 5

So, I guess the monster has a better modifier than we do?

Also, if it has an AC of 12, wouldn't that mean I need a 10? :huh

Actually, I got the numbers wrong.  You'd need a 10 with a bow, 8 with a sword.

So, both groups act at the same time (if the monster doesn't go first) but Kana goes after Alex.

Well, time to see how badly this goes.

Initiative!
This dice roll has been tampered with!
Rolled 1d6 : 2, total 2

We're using the rule where PC and enemy groups roll as a whole.  Since Raineh Daze rolled a 5 first, you act on her round as well, and then the monster.

Also, don't forget the modified Solo Heroes rules!  It has 2 hit dice, meaning that 2 points of damage is enough to drop it.  And for damage rolls, 1 on the damage die equals no damage, 2-5 equals 1, and 6-9 equals 2, and so on and so forth.  And you apply any damge modifier you have (such as from strength) are added to the die of your choice.

So for example, if Alex hit with her sword and rolled a 4 on her damage die, she can add 2 for a total of 6.  This translates into 2 points of damage, enough to drop the monster.

Now, if the monster had 1 hit dice, then Alex can roll a 1d8 Fray Die as a bonus damage dice.  Fray dice always do 1 point of damage no matter what, so they're intended to help with mook-killing.

It's oslecamo's turn, and then the monster.

I didn't have a weapon out, and seems like drawing is a -2 penalty on the attack roll.

Attack roll
Rolled 1d20-1 : 16 - 1, total 15

Damage roll
Rolled 1d6 : 4, total 4

Soooo, how long would it take to haul the sweet loot we just found back to the nearby village, and is there any inn where we could rent a secure room to stash it while we come back to investigate deeper?

I have a suspicion this dungeon has some self-destruct mechanism and we'll have to leave in an hurry after we reach the last room.   :p

How long would it take to just stick it outside the caves? It doesn't seem like someone's going to come rob the place over a rug and some books.

Sticking treasure outside the caves is a trivial non-issue; no villagers plan on getting close enough.  However, you should take into account how you're going to transport them back to Vornheim if you hope to sell them (and thus gain the silver and experience).

Apologies for the delay, I made up a new post.  This is room 4, and another fight, to show off the Fray Die mechanics.  What you need is described in the OOC; give it a shot and show off your mook-killing skills!

That's cool.

And don't worry, not every room's going to be combat after combat.  That would get monotonous after a while.
