Wight Mons' Elephant party
« on: January 09, 2014, 07:37:12 PM »
I came across this spell ---> shining-south  sticks-and-stones
{not sure about linking}

edit --- changed name again, Maat's tactic is superior.

 :plotting

Commoner 1 lets call her "mom", is Helpful and trustworthy to hold some cash for
Commoner 1 with Mercantile feat, lets call him Hannibal (historical reference for no reason).

Local Magic Mart has the sticks and stones spell.

Hannibal pays 150 gp and has 170 gp left, held by mom.
Hannibal allows the sticks and stones to attack him, killing him with one hit.
Spell expires and the originating "wight" is gone.
d4 rounds later Hannibal rises as a Wight, not beholden to previous "wight".
Mom hires 1700 other unskilled laborers at 1sp a piece, to stop by for some work ... (little bit handwavey at this step)
Hannibal kills each one rather easily.

1 Commoner = 1700 Wight army.
Yeah I know this is totally stupid ... but it's less time than the training for level 1 pun-pun.

I think the easiest and least-arguable way for a 1st-level commoner to turn himself into a wight is the death devotion feat (Complete Champion, p57).  Charge up a dagger, stab yourself with it, and deliberately fail your fort save so you gain a negative level.  Since you're level one with one negative level, you die.  Since you died of a negative level with no other special factors at play, you rise the next night as a wight (Dungeon Master's Guide, p293).

Oooo, that's way better.  Changed thread title because.
I'd forgotten that DMG clause.
Ditches the Magic Mart, and shaky reading of the spell.
(there are higher level spells that'll work too)

Only disadvantage, is it takes +1 day instead to get going.

Mishima --- Sun And Steel ; I think this is him in real life doing this to himself.

So that's 200 wights from 1 commoner alone with 1 feat to the build,
and before any legal GP semi-cheese.
Still needs "mom" to bring over unskilled workers.

(edit) so yeah the Wraith Plague thread just a few down from this one, is the inspiration for this.
