Dragonblood subtype: At 1st level the half-dragon gains the dragonblood subtype.
Improved casting: The half-dragon adds his levels in this class to his caster level for sorcerer spells. This does not increase his spells per day or spells known.
Ability Score Changes: The indicated ability score increases or decreases by the amount noted.
Natural Armor Improvements: At every level of the prestige class, the half-dragon's natural armor bonus increases by the indicated amount. A character that does not normally have a natural armor bonus (such as a human) is considered to have an initial natural armor bonus of +0 for the purpose of this ability. Thus, a human's natural armor bonus would increase to +2 at 1st level, to +3 at 2nd level, and finally to +4 at 3rd level.
Darkvision (Ex): At 1st level the half-dragon gains darkvision to a 60-foot range. At 2nd level this increases to 120 feet.
Low-Light Vision (Ex): At 1st level, the half-dragon gains low-light vision. At 2nd level this improves to superior low-light vision, allowing him to see four times the normal distance.
Movement mode: At 2nd level the half-dragon gains one movement mode of his dragon parent, based on his land speed. (fly speed = double base land speed with average maneuverability, swim or climb speed = base land speed, burrow speed = half base land speed).
Natural weapons: At 2nd level the half-dragon gains natural weapons as a true dragon of his size category. If he already has a natural weapon of one of the types gained use whichever is better.
Blindsense (Ex): At 3rd level the half-dragon gains blindsense out to 60ft.
Breath weapon (Su): At 3rd level the half-dragon gains one breath weapon of its dragon parent. The area of its breath weapon is determined based on the half-dragon's size as for
true dragons. If the breath weapon deals damage the damage is 1d6 per character level. In all other respects the breath weapon functions like that of its dragon parent (usable once per 1d4 rounds, Con-based DC, etc.).
Dragon type: At 3rd level the half-dragon's type changes to Dragon, and he gains the augmented subtype. Do not recalculate Hit Dice, base attack bonus, or saves. In addition he gains all subtypes of his dragon parent. He loses the dragonblood subtype, but as a Dragon he is treated as having it for prerequisites. For numerical effects based on age category (such as duration of non-damaging breath weapons) an ECL 1 half-dragon PC is considered a wyrmling, increasing by one age category at every odd level (due to their levels in this class, PC half-dragons are at least Very Young), while DM-controlled half-dragons calculate their age category from their CR instead.
