Hier looks around but finds nothing suggestive of what he is looking for. He creates a theory that whomever sunk it must have never used the dock, perhaps they rowed out to the boat to sink it? And looking around there is a few pulled up and turned upside on land but if they rowed out they wouldn't have used one from here.

I don't pee messages into the snow often , but when I do , it's in Cyrillic with Fake Viagra.  Stay frosty my friends.

Galen says to Mary, "I'm not sure, let's go find out while we wait for him to get back."

He then walks over to Hieronymus, looking around to see what's going on.  Upon seeing the sunken boat he says, "Wow, what happened?"

Heironymous looks up from his musings and says "I'm not sure, but I intend to find out. I have reason to suspect foul play."

Recognizing Heironymous as the sheriff's son and wanting to impress Mary after the fiasco over breakfast Galen asks, "Need some muscle?"  Galen's offer holds weight as he is visibly better built than even Heironymous himself.

Heironymous says "Well, hopefully not, but you can tag along if you want. I'm still trying to piece together what happened here... I think I know, but I need proof before I can do anything. I'm sorry, but have we met?" He puts out his hand "I'm Heironymous."

Galen takes the hand and shakes it firmly but not aggressively.  "I'm Galen Tilby, I'm a shepherd which is why you don't know me."  He then gestures to Mary.  "This is Mary."

Mary elbows Galen "Mary Baconvider".

"We've met. Hier can be really helpful at times and one of these days will make a fine deputy."

Heironymous looks a bit embarrased and says "Well... thanks, Mary. And nice to meet you, Galen.

Ahem... Shall we be off then? I want to see if I can find Nolan, to see if he noticed anything odd around here in the last day or so."

Galen nods, once again fairly oblivious when it comes to Mary. "Sounds good to me, lead the way."

Mary suggests walking from the pier towards Chucks along Nolen's normal hiking path. He takes kind of a side route with less traffic to bump into but it's the also the same street as the local spice vendor Mary shops at which probably helps orient him.

Galen looks around for any signs of Nolen but doesn't notice anything, most likely because he doesn't even know what he's looking for.

Heir pulls out a pair of spectacles and a magnifying glass, and begins looking for clues as if he were Sherlock Holmes.

Hier's amazing detective skills leads them to a shack with a dusty brown horse wearing a saddle. Voices can be heard inside as the rag tag group stands outside but you cannot make out what is being said from your current position. And oddly enough, the blind man saw fit to leave his walking and tapping stick propped against the wall near the door.

Mary, with a puzzled expression, speaks in a low tone, "That's odd. I've never seen him go into anyone's house around here."

Heir changes his magnifying glass into a listening cone, and leans his ear against the door.

"...don't understand it through. This should never have happened and now they are here?" a male voice says. "Were"" another whom sounds like Nolen corrects.

The first voices speaks again, "Ugh. If things weren't just so..." and as it trails off Nolen adds "Complicated?" To which the first voice responds, "That too."

"Look, she has spent years Hold." the second voice interrupts. "We are not alone any more."

Shuffling can be heard but you are unsure what they are doing.

Heir waves his arms and makes a "shush" gesture by putting a finger to his mouth, but then frowns as he realizes it is too late. He decides to try to take a different tactic, and instead stands up straight and opens the door saying "Who is here? Why don't you gentlemen tell me what's going on."

Nolen is sitting on a bar stool at an empty table. Upon your entry he turns his ear towards you.
You detect a mix of curiosity and humor.

His "friend" however immediately strikes you as odd. Tall, brown haired and eyed, pretty nondescript. His clothes are simple burlap and rough cloth, well worn with holes and pretty dusty. A closer inspection would reveal well oiled leather boots for his footwear, so maybe he is a traveler. He is staring at you, but you cannot detect anything tangible. It's as if he immediately took control of his emotions and all you can feel is him staring your down.

"Hier is that you? I'd recognize that voice of yours anywhere. Come on in and take a seat would you?" Nolen says. The other man focuses on the people behind Hier capturing each in his gaze. A moment passes and almost as if detecting the still air between Heir and the other guy, "Never mind him, he's pretty uptight at times.

"Excuse me, I should probably be in there." a similarly dressed female says behind Mary, apparently wanting to come in and join everyone as well. You detect an urge to join the group and uncertainly.
