"That is only to be expected.  Thank you anyways."  Louise considers for a moment. "If we have any further questions, will you still be here in this ocher world?"

Goldie: Of course!  Though Medusa will be more useful than me.
Goldie: You can probably ask that one things too.

She looks at Holy.

Goldie: She probably knows about things outside of this particular Pillar.

Holy nods.

"I mean, from what I've picked up on, getting the fragments lets us rebuild the world." I cough awkwardly. "Or, at any rate, the world minus one pair of handcuffs."
“Hast thou not felt in forest gloom, as gloaming falls on dark-some dells, when comes a whisper, hum and hiss; savage growling sounds a-near, dazzling flashes around thee flicker, whirring waxes and fills thine ears: has thou not felt then grisly horrors that grip thee and hold thee?”

Goldie: Sorry I... really can't tell you.
Goldie: I can tell you what I know about how you got here and what here is and that sort of thing.
Goldie: But I can't tell you about what happens after.  I'm really sorry...

Goldie: Um, if it helps, I really hope you succeed.  I really do.

Louise chuckles.  "I've been relying on Holy a lot actually."  She smiles at Holy.  The smile fades as Louise is reminded of another question.  "Goldie, you might know this.  What happens if a world destabilizes?  There was an... error in the orange world- did you call this place a pillar?  I suppose that would make it the orange pillar.  One of the fragments was destroyed and the records that are kept for us report that the world has become destabilized...  do you know of a way to fix that?"

Goldie: Ah, well, first, this place is a Maze.  The Yellow Maze, to be exact.  Aside from wanderers, you can only find fragments in Mazes.
Goldie: As for the destabilization, that's been fixed.  That's why I'm here.
Goldie: You're right in that it was caused by the destruction of a fragment, though.
Goldie: You should really try not to do that; they seem to be fairly fragile here.  I couldn't tell you why.

"That's why you're here? Do you specialize in fixing things?"

Goldie: Ah, no...  I'm just strong.  Between my presence and the sacrifice of the former Yellow Beast, we were able to resolve the instability.

I scratch my neck awkwardly. "I...uh...thank you. That was kind of my fault, so...thanks."

Goldie: Don't worry about it too much.  We want you to succeed, so just make sure you do.

She smiles a bit.

Cory has not moved since hearing "the world was destroyed."  He's trying to control his breathing, because he knew this was going to be true knew he wasn't going to be able to apologize to her oh god she died and she was angry at him he can't he can't he can't

He's on the ground, and he doesn't know how he got there.

I nudge Cory with my foot. "You alive down there?"

When Cory falls to the ground, Louise's instincts kick in.  She attempts to diagnose what is going on with Cory.

"Oh, for..." I mutter. "He's having a panic attack. I've seen it before in tourists."

I grin wickedly. "Of course, when I'm working, I can't take the clean approach. Might get a lawsuit."

I smack Cory on the back of the head.

Cory reels forward, then blinks and gets slowly to his feet, blinks again.  He shakes his head.  "My sincerest apologies," he says.  "We should continue on with our quest."

Louise appears ruffled with Becca's less than kind approach to Cory.

"Cory, are you okay?  If you have a physical limitation, you can stay behind.  These gates are... unforgiving.  I'm sorry you had to hear about what happened like this, but we are working to right what has gone wrong.  hopefully this will all be a bad dream before long."

Cory turns a serious look to Louise.  "I am perfectly fit, milady, although Cory is somewhat out of commission.  Permit me to introduce myself," he bows elaborately, "I am the erstwhile Knight of the White Rose, though given certain events, I'd feel better if someone could give me a title other than knight.  I don't believe I'll be a liability, for my knowledge of the magical arts far exceeds poor Cory's."

Louise raises an eyebrow.  Oh god, another crazy.  Why is nobody here normal.  Louise turns away.  "Please, Goldie, Let us continue."
