Raising the glowing axe above his head, Gorbug grins a bit and brings it down on the creature's neck; removing the head entirely.  He then drops the conjured weapon and gathers the treasure he was able to collect.  "I have an idea on how I'd like to spend some of this silver.  Let's go find the exit."
The next thing I say to you will be true.
The last thing I said was false.

Sythaeryn nods in agreement and falls in behind Gorbug.

Melisander uses the short lapse in action to catch his breath and bandage his wounds, before following the half-orc's lead.

Gorbug takes advantage of the bookish Elf's slowness, and takes a short rest of his own.  Soon after the last of the party passes below the falling stone, it collapses again with a resounding thud.  The corridor leads to a t-intersection; begging the question: left or right?  Each way leads a short distance before turning in the same direction, the one you're facing before the the t-intersection.

"Protect me while I have my familiar scout ahead."

Melisander's eyes roll into the back of his head as he transfers his visual and auditory perceptive ability to the owl. The owl take off down the right corridor to see what is beyond the darkness.

Without coming out of the trance, Melisander informs the party of the pathway back to the pillar room. Meanwhile, the owl redirects and scouts down the other corridor to see what might lie in that direction.

The corridor winds a very short distance and ends at a stout wooden door.

Shall we explore further or head back to the Inn and rest?

Pointing a thumb toward the way you came, Gorbug says, "We should return and rest.  I want to apply silver to my axe in case we run into another one of those."

"I agree", commented Sythaeryn. "I would also like to purchase some silvered arrows for myself."

With Melisander's familiar scouting the passages ahead for danger, and finding none, you are able to travel safely to the entrance well.
