The whale male attempts to punish Ajith with a one-two combo as he rises. The reptilian's claws and kick find only air, while his punch strikes only a glancing off of blubbery hide. Then, as the kobold attempts to leap away, the cetacean body checks and kicks at him, trying to send him back to the ground.

What about the trip attack? Or did the AC 30 (8 of which I presume, perhaps incorrectly, is a shield bonus from the spellblade duelist en garde ability) already include the penalty for being prone.
