...and now Derrick Rose is out for the season. Dammit! (I'm not a Bulls fan, just a basketball fan.)

I'm a huge 49ers fan as well, and I'm also a Bears fan.  This past Sunday there was a hit leveled on the Bear's Josh McCown that was also a really bad call.  Not as bad as the one on Ahmad Brooks, but still should not have been called.  It was called a "forcible blow to the chest" or something.  A blow, to the chest.  Shoulder to chest, straight impact, basically a textbook hard hit.  The reason it could be explained away is that the defender lowered his helmet into McCown, whereas Brooks turned his head to avoid contact with his helmet.  Still a bad call, just not as bad.

Really sucks about D Rose.  The fancy stat guys
have his efficiency this season at low back-up level.
Which is to say, he already had come back too soon.
Now this.  Done.  Sad.  Rose isn't quite yet into the
Grant Hill , Yao Ming , Bill Walton , Greg Oden category.

The Bulls might have to blow up this team and rebuild,
because Rose is 2 years away from respectable play.

I don't think he came back too soon. I think he was just rusty. And, at least it wasn't the same knee.

So team rosters are all announced for the Socchi games with regards to hockey, and of course notable snubs are all over the place.  For instance, how on Earth can Canada justify not bringing on the latest Stanley Cup winning goalie who has been playing another Cup contesting year (injured, but returned with no problem), and yet bring on Roberto Luongo?

It's time to dredge up this old thread again, because there's some sports news that's happened!  So, Ryan Miller, goal tender for Buffalo for the past 14 years, has just been traded away, along with their captain (!) to St Louis, for the Blues' goal tender and one of their forwards, as well as draft picks.  St Louis, top of their division, trades away their best goalie for the worst team in the league's goalie and captain.  What.  The.  Hell.  Miller was most certainly going to be traded.  But I think everyone expected him to go to a mediocre team that actually NEEDED a goalie, like, say, Washington or Tampa Bay....him going to a team that had two good goalies that has had a formula that worked?  Weird.

That's is weird from the St.Louis side.
They've got that market without Basketball competition.
It would behoove them (fancy words) to pay a bit extra
to keep the town to themselves.
Like Pittsburgh, San Jose, Anaheim, now New Jersey too,
and every Canadian team except Toronto.

That Buffalo dude is rich as hell.
He dropped $80million to start PennState's hockey program.
Bold move.

I take it you're more of a St.Louis fan than Buffalo ?

Chicago, San Jose, and Boston.  So neither really.  It was just a really weird move and even though I like that it happened it's bad for the Blues.

Adam Silver is My Homeboy.
 :clap

Turns out the players were ready to not play
over this guy.  The other owners went to
their bean counters and asked if anything
other than ditch sterling was possible.  Nope.

Pop is hilarious! This one is from last week, but he does this all the time, as you can see if you scroll down the right side.

Miami's in the NBA finals and LA's in the NHL finals?  Not a good weekend for me...The universe has decided to make me a temporary Rangers fan yet again, thanks to 5 really unlucky bounces, and another couple on the offensive end on Sunday...

I'm not really a hockey fan, but one of my best friends is a Rangers fan, so I'm rooting for them.

I'm much more of a Rangers fan that I was at the start of the year.  I like their new coach MUCH more than their old coach, I like Martin St. Louis and a couple other players, Lunqvidst isn't acting like a tool, and they beat up Montreal (which I absolutely loved seeing happen).
