Character History: Like most Lizardfolk, Vasculuss is a worshipper of Felicos. He started as a member of the Favored Coins, preferring quick wit and luck over The Daggers' methods of betrayal and murder. However, his more martial outlook put some strain on his relationships with fellow Favored Coins as well as his beliefs. Not this faith in Felicos, but his belief that the Favored Coins uphold Felicos' true nature.
In time Vasculuss was approached by a Dagger for reasons that were never shared with him. His dissatisfaction has been noticed, and he was offered the chance to bind to the "Spirit of the First Dagger" to serve Father Venom. Seeing a chance to view his faith from another perspective, and more importantly to serve Felicos and gain power for himself in the process, Vasculuss consented.
Once the binding was complete Vasculuss' realized that it had not ended as he expected.. He does not fully know who it is that he is bound with, whether the very first dagger or one of their predecessors or even a splinter of the energy that The King of Rogues invests into his chosen vessel. Having already become something of an outcast, this does not trouble Vasculuss. However, after the binding ceremony Vasculuss came to learn the person who approached him to offer the binding was Felicos himself. Regardless of whose spirit he is bound with, he now carries within him a portion of Felicos' divine essence.
Because of this, over time Vasculuss has come to see himself as something new, neither a Dagger nor a Favored Coin. He has taken a new symbol for himself, a dagger with a green leather handle that has a gold coin embedded in the hilt (
example). With Felicos in hiding and hunted by other gods, now is not the time for petty squabbles about which is the truer faith. Worshippers of Felicos must bind together and stop these petty betrayals. Murdering the fourth, third, second, or first Dagger to try and take his place is one thing, but the rampant betrayal for petty gains must stuf. As a whole they must be united if they ever want to regain the glory they had before the second Shadow War.
Personality: Vasculuss is self-centered and motivated by self-interest. However, he has deeply religious views and honestly believes that a reconciliation is needed between the Daggers and the Favored Coins (although if this requires completely tearing down both and rebuilding from there then so be it). If this ends up with him at the top, favored by Felicos himself, then all the better.
He knows that he will always be viewed with suspicion, other races are prejudiced against Lizardfolk and his religious beliefs put him at odds with others of his race. He is even an outsider among Magebound due to the oddities of his bond. He accepts this but doesn't enjoy it. Life can be very difficult with no one you trust to watch your back.
He is distrustful of others, always expecting them to try and get the upper hand and take him down a peg or two (if not six feet under). Very cynical and looks down on selfless do-gooders but not against doing good himself if it furthers his goals. Plus, people need to know that he will not stab them in the back without an excellent reason (though they don't need to know that's a possibility).
