I'm just convinced the former Emperor was an ignorant foreigner used to a highly-centralised land, AKA the complete opposite of anything with powerful feudal clans. :D

Yukimura (Raineh) your character has found herself wandering around as most traveling monks are want to do lol, and she has recently come across the city of Kentaka. Noticing that supplies are running low she headed into town and resupplied. (On whatever she sees as basic needs anyways) While in town you hear the rumors about the haunted shrines as it is what most of the townfolk are talking about, and seeing how most of them are superstitious they are now afraid to even approach the graves of their own dead.

(I figured it would be easy to notice their superstition since their all afraid of the shrines right now)

Also note* i will put your profile names next to your character, just to help me keep things organized bc sometimes i habe a tendency to mix things or people up on accident.

Um... yes? Were you expecting a game with minimal characterisation, roleplaying, or interaction with the world beyond rolling dice? :huh

No, it's just a game I'm particiaping in uses the ooc and discussion thread for it, but i am happy to do an entire thread for roleplay alone :)

It's easier to keep track of things if you have separate posts. You can't lose OOC that way, either.

It's good for me to, helps make it easier for me to see if there's a reason to provide a reward for good roleplaying :)

I had decided that I didn't have time to make a new character for this game... then remembered that I had this guy laying around unused. I know druids aren't typically in OA, but can we just call him a shaman and move on? There's not a big difference mechanically...

I don't know how gnomes typically fit into your setting. He's very fey-ish, so he could claim to be descended from some kind of forest spirit. He almost certainly lives in the wilderness, and hardly ever comes into town.

He was made for a solo game, so I had a heavy focus on having companions to fight for him, and a diverse array of abilities. Hence the riding dog and two "deer" (mules mechanically... but that doesn't sound nearly as cool :P ).

If this is all OK, I'm ready to jump in. Suggestions about a clan/affiliation are welcome.

Edit: I don't remember how I did his stats... they look pretty high. I will adjust them.

That all depends on if bhu or skydragobknight decide not to join us. They were in the process of making characters and I had already believed you weren't joining us. If they both decide to play they'll make up the max party of 5 i want. However if one of them does not join then you are more than welcome to and yes at that point he could just be a shaman.

Do to unfortunate circumstances bhu has bowed out of the game for now, so there is a spot open for your shaman and you are all good to begin playing :)

OK, thanks. I hadn't been following the last few pages of the recruitment thread. So I didn't know they were ahead of me. :P

They were only bc i believed you were as you said lacking in time so i thought after that you weren't going to be joining bc you never posted after that lol. However it's all worked out in the end and now we just need our last and final player.

I've messaged skydragonknight to find out if he plans to join all of us so hopefully i hear from him soon, however you are all free to begin when ready. Especially since theres at least 4 of you :)

Also note that your characters know about a substance called the mist.

It is always there every night, and has been known to make people do crazy things, however people have learned that once the mist has you, your gone for good, for they have found no way to release anyone from it.

They do not know exactly where it comes from, only that it appears each and every night all across the land.
Most are afraid of it and avoid going out at night locking themselves inside, while some venture out into it trying to find it's source, tho non have succeeded, or at least that have ever returned to tell of it.

Since I'm not sure how forest gnomes fit into the world, how about if I refluff my character to be a azuki-arai? It seems like the most similar thing to a forest gnome that I could find in Japanese mythology. Since the Dragon Clan is said (in Rokugan at least) to live in remote mountainous areas, which are cut off from the rest of the empire by snow in winter, I think it would make sense for my character to be somehow affiliated with them. Maybe some of the local shamans know of him, and consult with him on various things occasionally, leaving offerings of red beans as payment. :D

Alright, now that we have a game thread; DM, please start us out.  Flush out the setting over there and I'll begin shortly after.  If you are wondering what I mean you can take a look at the first post in the thread for my own game to inspire.  I will then proceed to dominate everyone and win D&D with my awakened peudonatural skybear riding a samurai T-rex with sword arms.  I mean, uh, play the game with my perfectly normal tibbit.  :D  Feel free to wax poetic, you can't go wrong with too much detail.
Mudada.
