Play By Post / Re: Nintendo/Zelda Campaign Revival/New Start
« on: January 01, 2018, 09:10:20 PM »
Shakes fist at self.

Whatever you do don't take people in residency.  Especially a newlywed in residency.  Also don't play in their games.  They will fall off the internet for an entire year, turning to short video games for escapism and ignoring things they agreed to do. My experience, not an apology or an excuse for just ditching.

Alternatively, same problems on options with a summoner that Jeremy had and apparently others.  Also differing involvement, and waiting for people to post ate up time that I didn't have. I was holding back and was too strong.  Didn't know how much to summon and could destroy campaign balance by continuously summoning before encounters.  Specifically we knew where the island boss was and could get there could have summoned for 10 rounds and went in with a herd of bison?

If you do that with the feats wouldn't it be better if they auto upgrade.  Maybe I'm weird, but I don't like it when the order of taking your feats changes their effect so much.

3
Beguiler just use cloaked casting and hold person?  Or maybe find a way to get slay living with cloaked casting?  It shouldn't be super difficult.  Or you could build a silent charger maybe using craven.

The beach is made of small pebbles with the occasional larger stone with woods surrounding the cove the weather has died down it looks at least as if that will be calm tonight.

General D&D Discussion / Re: If you had to be, what would you be?

I'm trying to figure out if soulmelds could be hidden/bluffed.  So Incarnate its basically what Solo said though.  +8 to random skills assuming Improved essentia capacity 15 con might not be possible with the rules though.  If Gestalt you'd want to add beguiler in normal you'd level in that.

A Large surface is provided from the ship as the crew understand the plan.  They climb into the workshop.  The fatigue that has set in amongst the men, they follow your orders without question looking to you for safety.  The captain is easily watched and the crew is kept in line.  They barely fit inside but but they climb in anyway.  It's clear that many are confused on how the plan will work.  The Pegasus gets everyone to the island afterwords.   You see that you were coming to a bay on the Northeastern aspect of the island.

As you get on the island it becomes clear that you are horribly lost it seems that you may not even be in the Mediterranean.  Curses are heard again whispers about the lack of a sacrifice to Poseidon.  The crew is to exhausted to do anything.  Many fall asleep before lighting a campfire drenched and tired.  The captain looks at you.  "Do we light a fire, those creatures came from this island?  Will you search them out or defend us here?"

The captain sees that you all have a plan,  "men get ready we'll need to abandon ship!"

The first mate goes to cut people free from the mast that had been tied down during the storm.  The carpenter hears you talking about a door, "Ill find you a flat piece from the deck that should come loose easily."  You sense fear from the crew the monsters came from the island.

I'm more amazed at the number of options the group actually has.

The First Manticore falls, then the second to the volley from the ship,  The ship however doesn't rock as the bottom planks give way.

"The ship is taking on water,"  The captain roars.  The drumming stops.  The manticores begin flying away, the monster breaking the ship submerges again, waiting for the sailors to drown.

"Well then whats your name, how long have you been in this room, anything interesting about it we heard about treasure, do you know how to get the bars up, I'm guessing its a puzzle?  My name is Gompa, the fairy is Pha, Jeremy is the kid, Squeaks is somewhere(gompa normally can't roll well enough to motion), thats kong he's a cool guy doesn't talk much.  We're trying to stop the moon from crashing into the island, because that is about to happen."

Craven, and one die can work with minimal investment if you are going with lots of attacks(1 level one feat).  On the other hand stacking sneak attacks can get you reasonable damage, at least keeping up with a blaster, less than a charger but not mutually exclusive with it.
